    Marlins' Nick Fortes: Sitting Saturday

Fortes will be on the bench for Saturday's game against the Rockies, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Fortes has the edge in starts behind the plate over Jacob Stallings by a 55-45 margin, though since the break it's been Stallings with five starts to Fortes' three. Fortes owns a .532 OPS on the season while Stallings' sits at .561, so neither player has made much of a push to carve out a larger role.

Diaz will sit for Saturday's game in Miami, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

Those with Diaz on their fantasy teams would prefer Diaz's off days all came on the road like this one. The All-Star Game MVP has hit .293/.333/.493 at home this season and just .243/.304/.358 elsewhere. Austin Wynns will take over behind the plate.

  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Socks 12th homer

Realmuto went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Guardians.

He went back-to-back with Bryson Stott in the seventh inning off Nick Sandlin to get the Phillies within a run, but they weren't able to find an equalizer. Realmuto has found his power stroke in July, slashing .261/.320/.565 over his last 12 games with two doubles and four of his 12 homers on the season.

  • White Sox's Yasmani Grandal: Regaining playing time

Grandal went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a walk Friday against the Twins.

Grandal began losing playing time to Seby Zavala in early July, but he has now started six of the team's last seven games. Three of those came at designated hitter with Eloy Jimenez sidelined, but Grandal has started consecutive games at catcher since Jimenez has returned. He's homered twice in 20 at-bats across his last six games, though he is striking out at a 34.8 percent clip.

Blue Jays' Danny Jansen: Hits homer in loss

Rockies' Elias Diaz: Goes deep in win

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a solo homer Friday in the Rockies' win over the Marlins.

Diaz took southpaw Braxton Garrett deep to left in the top of the third inning to give Colorado a 6-0 lead. The ball had an exit velocity of 111.7 mph and traveled an estimated 405 feet. It also pushed Diaz's home run total into the double digits at 10. The backstop later added a single in the top of the eighth while boosting his season OPS to .747.

  • Yainer Diaz C | HOU

Astros' Yainer Diaz: Not in lineup Friday

Diaz is not in the lineup for Friday's game at Oakland.

  • Cal Raleigh C | SEA

Mariners' Cal Raleigh: Sitting versus lefty

Raleigh is out of the lineup Friday against the Blue Jays.

Tom Murphy will start at catcher and bat fifth versus the Jays and left-hander Yusei Kikuchi. The switch-hitting Raleigh has slashed just .205/.279/.308 this year versus southpaws.

  • Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Sits against Valdez

Soderstrom is not in Friday's lineup against the Astros.

The lefty-hitting Soderstrom will head to the bench against tough lefty Framber Valdez. Jordan Diaz will fill in at first base while Jonah Bride handles designated hitter and Shea Langeliers starts behind the plate.

  • Brewers' Victor Caratini: Starting at first base

Caratini is making his first start of the season at first base, batting fifth Friday against Atlanta.

The 29-year-old catcher will draw the start at first base with the Brewers thin at the position, as Rowdy Tellez (forearm) and Brian Anderson (back) are unavailable. Caratini has produced a .200 batting average with a homer, four RBI and three runs scored over 20 at-bats in seven games this month.
