Jose Trevino C | CIN
Yankees' Jose Trevino: Sitting Friday
Trevino isn't in the Yankees' lineup Friday against the Rockies, Patrick Lyons of TheDNVR.com reports.
Trevino went 3-for-14 with a homer, two RBI and two runs scored over his last five games prior to the All-Star break. He'll get a day off Friday while Kyle Higashioka starts behind the plate and bats ninth.

Andrew Knizner C | BOS
Cardinals' Andrew Knizner: Cleared to return
Knizner (groin) has been cleared to return to action, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.
Knizner is eligible for activation Saturday and it sounds like he should be back on the active roster that day. He's missed the last week and a half after taking a foul ball to the groin.

Tyler Soderstrom LF | ATH
Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: New era begins
Soderstrom's contract was selected from Triple-A Las Vegas ahead of Friday's game against the Twins.
Soderstrom is as good of a candidate as any to be the face of the Athletics franchise going forward. The 21-year-old lefty hitter has huge raw power and could retain catcher eligibility for several years while playing almost every day at a combination of catcher, first base and designated hitter. Soderstrom, who was selected with the 26th overall pick in the 2020 Draft, hit .254 with 20 home runs and 59 RBI in 69 games at Triple-A. There could be some initial growing pains with strikeouts and a low batting average, but Soderstrom has a chance to contribute positively in the four non-speed roto categories during his prime years.

Nick Fortes C | TB
Marlins' Nick Fortes: Taking seat Friday
Fortes is absent from the lineup Friday in Baltimore, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Fortes started three of the last four games prior to the All-Star break, but it will be Jacob Stallings at catcher for the first game of the second half. Stallings has caught all 19 of Sandy Alcantara's starts this season.

Tyler Soderstrom LF | ATH
Athletics' Tyler Soderstrom: Set for MLB debut Friday
The Athletics will call up Soderstrom from Triple-A Las Vegas on Friday, Chris Correa of the Turlock Journal reports.
Soderstrom has put up a .254/.303/.536 slash line with 20 home runs over 69 games with Las Vegas this season while splitting his time between catcher and first base. The top prospect is expected to see most of his action with Oakland at first base and perhaps designated hitter, though with Manny Pina aggravating his wrist issue Sunday, Soderstrom could see some action as the team's No. 2 catcher behind Shea Langeliers. He's 21 years old and his numbers in the minors this season were only decent, given the hitter-friendly environments he played in. Still, Soderstrom is a premier talent who should be rostered in most fantasy leagues, especially ones in which he's eligible at catcher.

Diego Cartaya C | SF
Dodgers' Diego Cartaya: Cutting strikeouts at Double-A
Cartaya is hitting .228/.288/.433 with eight home runs and a 20.9 percent strikeout rate in his last 32 games for Double-A Tulsa.
He is the third-youngest qualified catcher at Double-A, (older than Edgar Quero and Jeferson Quero), and his .238 BABIP on the season is easily the lowest mark of his career, so there's needed context when evaluating his surface stats. Cartaya doesn't project to hit for a high average in the majors, but he could still be a catcher-eligible player who plays enough to hit 20-plus homers per season.

Anthony Bemboom C | DET
Orioles' Anthony Bemboom: Remains in organization
Bemboom cleared waivers and was outrighted to Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.
Bemboom could have elected free agency, but he's accepted the outright assignment and will remain in the Orioles organization. The 33-year-old has a career .496 OPS over parts of five major-league seasons.

Endy Rodriguez C | PIT
Pirates' Endy Rodriguez: Heating up at Indianapolis
Rodriguez is slashing .326/.400/.465 with one home run, three doubles and more walks (six) than strikeouts (five) in his last 10 games with Triple-A Indianapolis.
Henry Davis beat Rodriguez to the big leagues this season, although 17 of Davis' 20 appearances have come in right field, so Rodriguez still projects as Pittsburgh's catcher of the future. The switch-hitting Rodriguez hasn't hit for much power (.133 ISO) this year at Triple-A and his .290 BABIP is by far his lowest mark in full-season ball. His strike-zone awareness has been great all season, and this recent hot streak could be a sign that things are starting to click at the plate.

Luis Campusano C | SD
Padres' Luis Campusano: Shifts rehab to Triple-A
Campusano (thumb) moved his rehab assignment to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday and went 3-for-6 with a double and two runs in his first two games with the affiliate.
Campusano, who is working his way back from left thumb surgery, appeared in three games in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League earlier this month before shifting his rehab assignment to Triple-A. He'll likely remain with El Paso for at least a few more games to get his timing back at the plate following a two-month-plus-long layoff from action, but once activated, Campusano could get a look with the Padres as the top understudy to Gary Sanchez. The Padres' current No. 2 catcher, Austin Nola, owns a .143/.260/.190 slash line (37 wRC+) over 150 plate appearances this season and still has two minor-league options remaining.

Travis d'Arnaud C | LAA
Braves' Travis d'Arnaud: Belts eighth homer
D'Arnaud went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Rays.
The veteran catcher made franchise history when he took Zach Eflin deep in the fourth inning, as it marked the 26th straight game in which Atlanta batters had hit at least one homer -- a new record. D'Arnaud heads into the All-Star break with eight homers on the season, including four in his last seven starts, but his playing time remains erratic behind Sean Murphy at catcher and Marcell Ozuna at DH.
