  • Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Undergoes MRI

McCutchen (knee) underwent an MRI on Sunday, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

McCutchen exited Saturday's loss to the Pirates with a left knee issue, and he was held out of the lineup Sunday. Manager Joe Girardi said that the team is still waiting on results from the outfielder's exam, and a timetable for his return isn't yet known.

  • Alex Dickerson DH | ATL

Giants' Alex Dickerson: Remains on bench Sunday

Dickerson is not in the lineup Sunday against the Astros, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Dickerson has regularly sat versus left-handed starters this year, but he's now sitting for the second straight game against a righty and for the third consecutive contest overall. The 30-year-old is 0-for-15 in his past seven contests and has a .687 OPS for the season. LaMonte Wade will start in left field Sunday as Dickerson appears to be losing his grip on a starting role.

  • Darin Ruf DH | MIL

Giants' Darin Ruf: Goes yard, scores three runs

Ruf went 2-for-5 with a home run and two additional runs in Saturday's win over the Astros.

Ruf went yard for the first time since July 18, and he also extended his hitting streak to six games. Plus, the three runs scored Saturday represent the second-highest mark of the season for the first baseman. The veteran slugger ended July on a strong note with a slash line of .298/.420/.649 while also hitting .310 over his last 10 contests.

  • Brad Miller DH | SD

Phillies' Brad Miller: Filling in for Hoskins

Miller will start at first base and bat fifth Sunday against the Pirates.

Miller will start for the fourth time in five games, but his run of regular playing time will likely come to an end as soon as Rhys Hoskins (groin) is cleared to return to action. Hoskins is considered day-to-day at this stage, but a trip to the injured list could grow more likely if he remains out of the lineup for Monday's series opener in Washington.

  • Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Out of Sunday's lineup

McCutchen (knee) is not in the lineup Sunday at Pittsburgh.

McCutchen left Saturday's contest with the knee issue and will be sidelined for at least one game. Odubel Herrera will shift to left field while Travis Jankowski starts in center.

  • Joc Pederson DH | TEX

Braves' Joc Pederson: Resting versus lefty

Pederson is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

With southpaw Brett Anderson on the hill for the Brewers, Atlanta will overload its lineup with right-handed bats, leaving no room for the lefty-hitting Pederson. He'll be replaced in the outfield by Guillermo Heredia, while Ozzie Albies takes over as Atlanta's leadoff hitter.

  • Justin Turner DH | CHC

Dodgers' Justin Turner: Two hits, homer

Turner went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and a strikeout in an 8-3 victory over the Diamondbacks on Saturday.

Turner singled in the first and launched a go-ahead two-run home run in seventh that gave Los Angeles the lead for good. The homer was the third baseman's 19th of the season and he's on track to approach his career high of 27. He has an excellent .295/.385/.499 slash line.

  • Jorge Soler DH | LAA

Braves' Jorge Soler: Records three hits in win

Soler went 3-for-4 with three base hits and an RBI in Saturday's 8-1 win over the Brewers.

Soler made a great first impression on his new teammates in Atlanta with three singles and an RBI Saturday night. The right fielder/DH is not known for playing small ball, but the Braves have to be happy to see some life in Soler's bat after bringing him over from the Royals at the trade deadline.

  • Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Managing knee injury

McCutchen was removed from Saturday's loss to the Pirates with an unspecified knee injury, Matt Gelb of The Athletic reports.

McCutchen went 0-for-3 with a strikeout before being pulled from the contest. The 34-year-old's availability for Sunday's series finale is up in the air, and it wouldn't be surprising to see the Phillies remain cautious and hold him out of the lineup, even if it's not a serious injury.

  • Brandon Belt DH | TOR

Giants' Brandon Belt: Needs more rehab games

Belt (knee) should return within a week or 10 days, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Belt was having a strong season at the plate, slashing .253/.363/.512, before suffering a knee injury in late June. He's made a pair of rehab appearances already but needs a few more before he's considered ready to return.
