Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Playing Monday
McCutchen (oblique) is batting cleanup and playing left field Monday against the Cubs, Matt Breen of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
Oblique soreness forced the veteran to exit late in Sunday's contest, but he appears good enough to play in the series opener Monday at Wrigley Field. After going 0-for-3 on Sunday, McCutchen is hitting .241 with a homer, six RBI and eight walks in his last 11 games.

Brandon Belt DH | TOR
Giants' Brandon Belt: Resumes baseball activities
Belt (knee) will resume light baseball activity Monday, Mark W. Sanchez of KNBR 680 San Francisco reports.
Belt has been managing right knee inflammation for just under two weeks, but he's dealing with minimal structural damage to his knee and will undergo a rehab process rather than having surgery. While rehab should have a shorter recovery timetable than he'd have if he elected for surgery, a better idea of a return date likely won't be known until the 33-year-old is able to ramp up his activity level.

Alex Dickerson DH | ATL
Giants' Alex Dickerson: Sits against another southpaw
Dickerson isn't starting Monday's game against the Giants, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.
Left-hander Kwang Hyun Kim is starting for the Cardinals in Monday's series opener, so Dickerson will retreat to the bench for a second straight game. He could return to the lineup Tuesday with right-hander Adam Wainwright starting for St. Louis, but Thairo Estrada will start in left field and bat second Monday.

Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Rare multi-hit effort
Carpenter went 2-for-4 with a run in a loss to the Rockies on Sunday.
Carpenter drew the start at second base and operated out of the cleanup spot, and he came through with one of only two multi-hit efforts for the Cardinals on the day. The veteran hadn't managed more than a single hit in a contest since May 30, and although he's shown some modest signs of life at the plate during his scant opportunities in recent weeks, his season average remains an abysmal .177 across 156 plate appearances.

Darin Ruf DH | MIL
Giants' Darin Ruf: Double, home run
Ruf went 2-for-4 with a double, two-run home run, an additional RBI and a strikeout as San Francisco beat Arizona 5-2 on Sunday.
Ruf plated Buster Posey with his first inning double and later smacked a two-run home run off Arizona starter Caleb Smith to extend San Francisco's lead to 5-0 in the sixth. It was a nice breakout performance after Ruf had gone 0-for-6 with three strikeouts across his last five appearances and his .250/.373/.510 slash line has continued a late-career renaissance that began in 2020.

Alex Dickerson DH | ATL
Giants' Alex Dickerson: On bench against left-hander
Dickerson isn't starting Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
Dickerson went 2-for-4 with a homer, two runs, a walk and a strikeout across the last two games, but he'll retreat to the bench with left-hander Caleb Smith starting for the Diamondbacks. Jaylin Davis will start in left field and bat eighth.

Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Exits with oblique issue
McCutchen exited Sunday's loss to the Padres with oblique tightness, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
McCutchen complained of oblique soreness during Sunday's contest, and he took himself out of the game with two outs in the top of the ninth inning rather than risking a more serious injury. The 34-year-old will be examined further Monday when the team travels to Chicago, and he should be considered day-to-day for now. Prior to his departure, the left fielder went 0-for-3 with a walk.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Cubs' Joc Pederson: Sitting versus lefty
Pederson is not in the lineup Sunday against the Reds.
Pederson is 0-for-12 over his past three games and will head to the bench Sunday with southpaw Wade Miley pitching for Cincinnati. Ian Happ will shift to left field while Jake Marisnick starts in center.
-
Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: On bench Sunday
Turner is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Nationals, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
After a 1-for-4 performance Saturday, Turner has hit .396 with seven runs and seven RBI in his last 13 games. Zach McKinstry starts at third base while Turner sits out the morning contest.

Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Phillies' Andrew McCutchen: Swipes sixth base
McCutchen went 1-for-2 with a pair of walks and a stolen base Saturday against the Padres.
McCutchen singled off Yu Darvish in the sixth inning and promptly stole second base before coming in to score on a Rhys Hoskins double. The 34-year-old McCutchen is 6-for-7 on the basepaths this season, with half off those six steals coming in the last seven games. McCutchen has gotten on base at a healthy .352 clip this season -- he leads the Phillies with 48 walks -- and has 13 homers and 41 RBI in 253 at-bats, but his .229 average would be the lowest of his career.
