Yoenis Cespedes DH | NYM
Mets' Yoenis Cespedes: Trip to disabled list expected
Cespedes (heel) is likely to land on the disabled list, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports.
Cespedes stated Friday that he's dealing with calcification in both heels which will eventually require surgery. It's not clear whether that surgery will happen soon. The Mets are awaiting a second opinion but the current expectation is that he'll miss some time. Outcomes ranging from a relatively quick return to the lineup to an 8-to-10 month absence remain on the table at this point.

Matt Carpenter DH | STL
Cardinals' Matt Carpenter: Stays hot in loss
Carpenter went 2-for-4 with a double and a run in a loss to the Reds on Monday.
Although the Cardinals' offense was largely stuck in a funk Monday, Carpenter is seemingly immune from any offensive malaise these days. He laced his 31st double of the season off starter Luis Castillo for one of his two hits, extending his hitting streak to eight games in the process. Carpenter's prolific July has seen him slash .364/.481/.939 over 81 plate appearances thus far.

Joc Pederson DH | TEX
Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Cranks 14th homer
Pederson led off and went 2-for-4 with a walk, a solo home run and a pair of runs scored in Monday's 7-6 win over the Phillies.
Pederson returned to the starting lineup after sitting against a southpaw Sunday, responding with his 14th homer of the season. The 26-year-old's strong play this year (.256/.342/.529) keeps him in the starting lineup against righties, which should be enough playing time to help most fantasy owners in the power department.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Placed on disabled list
Turner was placed on the disabled list with a right groin strain Monday.
Turner will be eligible to return Aug. 2. The newly acquired Manny Machado will slide over to third base to cover for him until then. Alex Verdugo was called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Yoenis Cespedes DH | NYM
Mets' Yoenis Cespedes: Remains out Monday
Cespedes (heel) is out of the lineup for the second straight game Monday against the Padres.
Cespedes returned from a hip injury Friday but was held out of Saturday's game after revealing that he may need surgery to deal with calcification in his heels. He was not in Sunday's lineup either, though that game ended up being rained out. He is expected to visit a specialist early this week, at which point a clearer timeline should emerge.

Bryce Harper 1B | PHI
Nationals' Bryce Harper: Launches 24th homer
Harper went 2-for-4 with a walk, a home run, two runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Braves.
The slugger took Dan Winkler deep for a solo shot in the eighth inning, giving Harper 24 homers on the season. He's also now up to eight steals, having swiped a base in each of the first two games coming out of the All-Star break. It's been a rough campaign for the 25-year-old so far in terms of batting average, but he's still more than capable of going on a tear over the final months.

Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Giants' Andrew McCutchen: Homers in loss
McCutchen went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's extra-inning loss to the Athletics.
McCutchen's eighth-inning homer put the Giants on top momentarily, but it was all for naught as the bullpen failed to hold the lead. The 31-year-old's numbers are down across the board since joining San Francisco this season, but he has salvaged some fantasy value with a .259 batting average, 51 runs, 10 homers, 42 RBI and nine steals in 97 games.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Could require DL stint
Turner (groin) will likely need a trip to the disabled list after re-injuring his groin Sunday against the Brewers, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Turner missed Saturday's game with the same issue, so it appears he still isn't quite over the right groin injury. Manager Dave Roberts stated there's a growing possibility he'll be moved to the disabled list, per Vassegh. Turner will likely be reevaluated prior to Monday's series opener against Philadelphia.

Yoenis Cespedes DH | NYM
Mets' Yoenis Cespedes: Held out Sunday
Cespedes (heel) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Yankees, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
After serving as the Mets' designated hitter and hitting a home run Friday in his return from the 10-day disabled list, Cespedes was held out of the lineup Saturday and revealed that he's dealing with calcification on both of his heels, a condition that will eventually require surgery. According to Healey, Mets assistant general manager John Ricco said the team is viewing surgery as a last resort for Cespedes at this time. Cespedes is scheduled to visit a specialist and undergo an MRI in the next day or two, after which the Mets should have a better idea of how to proceed with the ailing slugger. For what it's worth, Cespedes said that he felt capable of manning the DH spot in the series finale, but the Mets preferred to wait until he's re-examined before slotting him back into the lineup, per Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.

Justin Turner DH | CHC
Dodgers' Justin Turner: Groin injury resurfaces
Turner exited Sunday's game in the third inning due to an adductor muscle issue, Pedro Moura of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.
Turner had been making his return from a six-game absence Sunday but only lasted two at-bats before he was pulled from the contest. The team hasn't disclosed the exact issue, but it's in the same region as the groin injury that kept him on the shelf. Consider Turner day-to-day as the Dodgers continue their road trip in Philadelphia on Monday. He was 1-for-2 with an RBI double before exiting and was replaced by Max Muncy at third base.
