Lowther was recalled from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.

Lowther was recalled by the Orioles on Wednesday and then sent back to Norfolk on Thursday without making an appearance with the big club. He'll rejoin Baltimore ahead of their game against Cleveland on Saturday and figures to be able to pitch in long relief if needed. John Means (shoulder) was placed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding roster move. Lowther could be a candidate to take Means' spot in the rotation while the left-hander recovers.

Soto pitched a scoreless eighth inning and recorded a hold in Saturday's 4-3 win over the White Sox. He struck out two.

Detroit manager A.J. Hinch decided to use Soto in the eighth inning and then Jose Cisnero for his first MLB save in the ninth. Soto leads the team with five saves and has a solid 3.09 ERA, so this was likely more of a situational decision than a full-on switch at closer for the Tigers. Still, with Soto being Detroit's best left-handed reliever, Hinch will likely continue using him in important late-game spots, and those might not always come in the ninth inning.

Cisnero pitched a scoreless ninth inning to record the save in Saturday's 4-3 win over the White Sox. He struck out one.

The Tigers decided to use Gregory Soto for the eighth inning, then Cisnero in the ninth, and the move worked out. Soto leads the team with five saves and has a solid 3.09 ERA, so it remains to be seen if Cisnero has overtaken him in the closer role or if this was simply a situational decision. The save is the first for Cisnero at the MLB level versus eight career blown saves. Whether he displaces Soto or not, he should remain a high-leverage reliever for Detroit, giving him some degree of fantasy appeal.

The Tigers selected Foley's contract from Triple-A Toledo on Sunday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

With Michael Fulmer landing on the 10-day injured list with a right shoulder strain, a spot has opened up for Foley on the major-league roster. This marks Foley's first promotion to the big leagues. The right-hander has posted a 3.60 ERA and 10:4 K:BB across 10 innings at Triple-A Toledo this season. He'll look to make his major-league debut out of the Detroit bullpen in the coming days.

Fulmer was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday with a right shoulder strain, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Fulmer has been unavailable in recent days because of what the Tigers described as fatigue. The right-hander has now been officially diagnosed with a shoulder strain and will require an IL stint. It's unclear when he could be able to return to the Detroit bullpen, but his placement on the injured list can be backdated to June 3, leaving him eligible to be reinstated June 13. With four saves and a 1.35 ERA to his name since the beginning of May, Fulmer had emerged as a key piece at the back of the Detroit bullpen, but his absence likely paves the way for Gregory Soto and/or Jose Cisnero to pick up most of the closing chances.

Ottavino retired the side in the eighth inning of Saturday's 7-3 win over the Yankees.

Ottavino was protecting a four-run lead, so he was not credited with a hold, but he retired the heart of the order: DJ LeMahieu, Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge. It was his 10th consecutive scoreless outing, during which he's given up three hits and five walks while striking out 11 over 8.2 innings. He had an inconsistent start with his new club but has settled in with a 2.78 ERA and 1.28 WHIP.

Trivino earned the save over the Rockies on Saturday, pitching a scoreless inning during which he gave up one hit and struck out one.

Trivino was called upon in the ninth inning to protect a three-run lead. He gave up a two-out single but nothing more to notch his eighth save. Since yielding five runs in a disastrous outing May 5, Trevino has not allowed an earned run over his subsequent nine outings covering 9.1 innings.

Green (0-4) allowed four runs on four hits and struck out one in two-thirds of an inning, taking the loss versus Boston on Saturday.

Green was hit hard, as Enrique Hernandez and Christian Vazquez each tagged him for RBI doubles. Bobby Dalbec added a two-run home run as insurance for Boston. Despite the rough outing, Green still has a 3.14 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 27:7 K:BB across 28.2 innings this year. He's added two saves, eight holds and a blown save in a high-leverage role.

Barnes struck out the only batter he faced to earn the save in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Yankees.

Brandon Workman walked two batters before Barnes entered the game with two outs in the ninth inning. Barnes retired Kyle Higashioka on five pitches for the save. The right-hander is now 14-for-15 in save chances this year. He's posted a 2.49 ERA, 0.63 WHIP and 45:5 K:BB across 25.1 innings as Boston's unquestioned closer.

Canterino has been placed on the minor-league injured list with a strained right elbow, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

Canterino is one of the Twins' more interesting pitching prospects. The 2019 second-round pick had gotten off to an excellent start through four outings for High-A Cedar Rapids, striking out an incredible 51.5 percent of opposing batters en route to a 1.00 ERA and 0.72 WHIP. The severity of his injury is not yet clear, but elbow issues are certainly never a good sign for a pitcher.
