Poche (4-4) was credited with the victory in an extra-inning win over the Orioles on Monday, firing a scoreless 10th inning during which he allowed a hit.

Poche got the call in the 10th inning after Emilio Pagan had already worked the ninth, and he got through his frame on a relatively efficient 15 pitches. It was just the latest taste of success for the emerging southpaw, who's generated scoreless efforts in six of his last seven trips to the mound. Poche has been charged with four blown saves, but he's amassed 12 holds in addition to his four victories.

Hildenberger was called up by the Twins on Tuesday.

Hildenberger has endured a rough season thus far. He struggled to an 8.36 ERA in 14 innings before being demoted in mid-May and then spent two months on the injured list with a right flexor mass strain. He looks to be back on track now; he allowed just one run in 12.1 minor-league innings after returning from the injury.

Pruitt is likely to cover multiple innings as part of a bullpen day approach deployed by manager Kevin Cash for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Pruitt will be going on less rest than usual, as he just logged 5.1 innings Saturday. Therefore, he may not cover the usual amount of frames that Cash usually has a true primary pitcher work, but he may be in line for at least 2-to-3 innings if he's able to keep his pitch count at reasonable levels.

Banda is likely to be part of a bullpen day approach deployed by manager Kevin Cash for the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Orioles, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 26-year-old southpaw was just recalled from Triple-A Durham on Monday, and it appears he won't have to wait long before toeing the rubber for the Rays. The move of Wednesday's game to the second game of a doubleheader Tuesday due to Hurricane Dorian-related concerns put Cash in somewhat of a bind as far as his pitching staff is concerned, and Banda represents a fresh arm after last having pitched for the Bulls last Wednesday. The appearance would be Banda's first in the big leagues since May 26, 2018, an outing that coincidentally came against the Orioles as well and was his last before undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Richards will serve as a traditional starter in the first game of a doubleheader against the Orioles on Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The right-hander worked as a primary pitcher in two of his first three appearances with the Rays after arriving via trade with the Marlins. He'll get another look as a true starter Tuesday. Richards blanked these very same Orioles on two hits over six innings back on Aug. 23, a feat he'll look to replicate in the matinee of a twin bill.

Kay will make his big-league debut this weekend in Tampa Bay, pitching as either a starter or as a primary pitcher following an opener, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

One of two notable pitching prospects the Blue Jays received in the deadline deal that sent Marcus Stroman to the Mets, Kay has pedigree (first-round pick in 2016) and is a southpaw, but he is likely to be more of a No. 4 or No. 5 starter in the big leagues. Since the trade, he has logged a 2.50 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 39:22 K:BB in 36 innings with Triple-A Buffalo. He could stick in the rotation over the rest of the season.

Covey is expected to be called up from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday, Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.

The Knights' season ended Monday when a loss to Norfolk eliminated them from a berth in the International League playoffs. That means the White Sox can start bringing up players, a list that is likely to include Covey, who started for Charlotte on Monday. He pitched to a 3.71 ERA and 1.57 WHIP over five starts following his demotion to the minors in early August. He's on the same schedule as current rotation member Ross Detwiler, whose spot is shaky following a six-walk performance in Monday's loss to the Indians. Manager Rick Renteria said there are no plans to change the rotation as of now, but Covey gives the manager options over the final month.

Rogers picked up the save after striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning Monday against the Tigers.

Rogers was called on in the bottom of the ninth with a one-run lead, and he needed just 11 pitches (nine strikes) to retire the side in order. The 28-year-old has now registered four saves in his last four outings, and he owns a 2.43 ERA and 1.03 WHIP with 77 punchouts over 59.1 innings this season

Jurado will serve as the bulk reliever for Tuesday's game against the Yankees.

Edinson Volquez is slated to toss the first inning or two as the opener, and Jurado is set to follow. He turned in an excellent performance his last time out, tossing six scoreless frames against the Angels.

Yarbrough yielded four runs on nine hits while striking out four over six innings Monday against Baltimore. He didn't factor into the decision.

Yarbrough cruised through the first five innings untouched, but the Orioles got to the left-hander in the sixth for four runs. The 27-year-old continues to put together a solid 2019 campaign, posting a 3.49 ERA and 0.90 WHIP with a 102:14 K:BB over 121.1 innings.
