Palumbo (0-1) gave up seven runs on six hits and three walks while striking out one through two innings, taking the loss against the Indians on Wednesday.

It was trouble from the start, as Palumbo gave up two home runs and was down 5-0 in the first inning. He faced the minimum in the second inning but allowed four baserunners and two more runs without recording an out in the third. Rangers general manager Jon Daniels has suggested that Palumbo wasn't called up merely for a spot start, but the 24-year old didn't exactly inspire confidence with Wednesday's performance. Through two starts, Palumbo has an 0-1 record with an 16.50 ERA.

Manaea (shoulder) will throw in a simulated game Thursday at the team's minor-league complex in Arizona, the final step before a rehab assignment, Martin Gallegos of MLB.com reports.

Manager Bob Melvin indicated that Manaea would throw 60-65 pitches Thursday, which should serve as a strong litmus test for his readiness to embark on a rehab assignment. If the remainder of the southpaw's recovery goes off without a hitch, he could be ready to return right after the All-Star break.

Ramirez (3-2) allowed five runs on six hits across 1.1 innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Pirates. He struck out one and did not issue any walks.

Ramirez has been hit hard in his last two appearances, which both went down as losses. The lefty has allowed eight runs on 12 hits over his last 4.1 innings, and the rough patch has pushed his season ERA from 2.25 to 4.45. The Tigers don't have a ton of proven options in the bullpen, so Ramirez should get the chance to figure things out. However, he's not offering much from a fantasy perspective at the moment.

Green will serve as the opener for Thursday's game against the Astros, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.

Green was impressive as an opener over the weekend, allowing just one hit while striking out six batters before giving way to Nestor Cortes. The Yankees have yet to announce who will follow Green, but he figures to see a similar workload Thursday.

Pruitt will be recalled from Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Pruitt will provide the Rays with a fresh bullpen arm for Thursday's series opener after Wednesday's starter, Blake Snell, lasted just one out. Adam Kolarek was sent to the minors following Wednesday's 12-1 loss to free up a roster spot for Pruitt.

Kolarek was optioned to Triple-A Durham following Wednesday's loss to the Yankees, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

The Rays will swap Kolarek out for a fresh bullpen arm (Austin Pruitt) ahead of Thursday's series opener after Wednesday's starter, Blake Snell, lasted just one out. Kolarek pitched 1.1 innings of relief in Wednesday's 12-1 loss, allowing three runs on one hit and two walks while striking out three.

Giles (elbow) threw 22 pitches to hitters Wednesday, Scott Mitchell of TSN.ca reports.

Giles is eligible to return from the 10-day injured list Friday. Assuming his elbow remains free of setbacks Thursday, he's expected to do so.

Palumbo was recalled as expected ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against Cleveland.

Palumbo has made one career big-league start, allowing four runs in four innings against Oakland in early June. He owns a 3.19 ERA in 10 starts for Double-A Frisco. Jeffrey Springs (biceps) landed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Fulmer was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Wednesday.

Fulmer has made eight appearances at the big-league level this season, recording a 6.97 ERA and an 11:11 K:BB. He owns a much more respectable 3.97 ERA in 22.2 innings for Charlotte. Manny Banuelos (shoulder) landed on the 10-day injured list in a corresponding move.

Yacabonis will serve as the opener Wednesday against the Athletics, Roch Kubatko of MASN Sports reports.

Yacabonis will pitch one or two frames before giving way to Josh Rogers, who is expected to cover the majority of innings. In 13 appearances with the big club this season, Yacabonis owns a 5.40 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 12:10 K:BB in 20 innings.
