Giles earned a win and struck out two batters in a 4-2 victory against the Athletics on Friday.

The Blue Jays bullpen gave up the lead in the eighth, but after Giles pitched a scoreless ninth, Toronto earned a walk-off win. Giles has blown one game himself this season, but he has seven saves and a 1-1 record with 2.19 ERA as well. Giles also owns a 1.46 WHIP and 19 strikeouts in 12.1 innings this season.

Norris surrendered four runs on 10 hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings Friday against the White Sox. He didn't factor into the decision.

Norris managed to limit the damage to four runs, which is actually quite impressive considering that he gave up 10 base knocks in just five innings of work. He allowed a run in the first, another in the second and two more in the bottom of the fifth before getting the boot. After tossing five scoreless frames in his first start of 2019, Friday's outing was certainly a step back. He'll enter his next outing with a 3.93 ERA and 15 strikeouts over 18.1 frames.

Hearn was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday due to left elbow tightness, Levi Weaver of The Athletic reports.

Hearn got lit up by the Mariners on Thursday, although it's unclear if his injury had anything to do with his poor performance. He's expected to be re-examined in Dallas within the next few days to determine the extent of the injury.

Jurado was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Friday, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Jurado has posted a 3.57 ERA with 22 strikeouts and 22.2 innings with Nashville this season and will add bullpen depth for the Rangers. In a corresponding move, Jeffrey Springs was optioned to the minors.

Ramsey was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Friday, Maria Torres of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Ramsey's contract was selected by the Angels on Wednesday, and despite throwing a scoreless inning Thursday, he's been sent back to the minor leagues. Luke Bard appears to be the player called up in a corresponding move, per Torres.

Trivino (thumb) is unlikely to pitch Friday night against Toronto but is closing in on a return, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Skipper Doug Melvin stated that he doesn't expect Trivino to be available for Friday's matchup, although it appears he will avoid a trip to the injured list. The 27-year-old right-hander could return to action sometime over the weekend if all goes according to plan.

Lakins was optioned to Triple-A Pawtucket on Friday.

Lakins was called up for his big-league debut Tuesday and made just one appearance, allowing one run one four hits while striking out two in innings of relief Tuesday against the Tigers. Josh Smith's contract was selected in a corresponding move.

Pearson allowed one hit and one walk over five scoreless innings while striking out 10 for High-A Dunedin on Thursday.

The 10 whiffs were a career high for the right-hander, pushing his K:BB so far to a stunning 30:2 through 19 innings. Pearson's lack of pro experience -- the 2017 first-round pick only threw 1.2 frames last year due to an oblique strain and a broken forearm -- could keep him at High-A for a little while longer, but performance-wise, he's clearly ready for the next challenge.

Armstrong was designated for assignment by the Mariners after Thursday's 14-2 win over the Rangers, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.

Armstrong spent the first couple weeks of the season on the injured list with an oblique injury and allowed six runs on eight hits over 3.2 innings since being activated April 12. The 28-year-old gave up only two runs and had a 15:3 K:BB over 14.2 innings with the Mariners last season and has a 3.65 ERA and 1.25 WHIP across 61.2 major-league innings for his career.

Hearn (0-1) took the loss on Thursday, giving up five runs (four earned) on three hits with four walks and no strikeouts in the Rangers' 14-2 loss to the Mariners. He recorded just one out.

Hearn was called up from Triple-A Nashville ahead of this start, and it couldn't have gone much worse, as he unable to make it out of the first inning while issuing four free passes on just 39 pitches. It was a spot start to fill in for Adrian Sampson, who threw three innings out of the bullpen in the Rangers' previous game, so the 24-year-old seems likely to head back to the minors.
