Louis Coleman RP | DET
Tigers' Louis Coleman: Grabs win in relief
Coleman (4-1) picked up the win in relief in Monday's 9-5 victory over the White Sox, working around two hits to pitch a scoreless inning.
Coleman came into 2018 with just four total wins at the MLB level since the beginning of the 2014 season, so matching that figure this season has been quite the pleasant surprise. The 32-year-old reliever has a 3.60 ERA on the year and has been a relatively reliable option out of a weak Detroit bullpen.

Eduardo Paredes RP | DET
Angels' Eduardo Paredes: Shuttled back to minors
Paredes was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Monday, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Paredes was promoted to the big leagues Sunday, but after tossing two scoreless innings out of the bullpen in the series finale against Oakland, he'll return to the Bees. In a corresponding move, Osmer Morales was added to the 25-man roster.

George Kontos RP | CLE
Yankees' George Kontos: Contract purchased from minors
Kontos had his contract selected from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Monday, Marc Carig of The Athletic reports.
Kontos will provide additional depth to the club's bullpen following the placement of CC Sabathia (knee) on the 10-day disabled list in a corresponding move. Across 27 major-league appearances with Cleveland and Pittsburgh this year, he's logged a 4.68 ERA and 1.32 WHIP. Look for him to be deployed in low-leverage spots.

Michael Fulmer RP | NYY
Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Nearing rehab start
Manager Ron Gardenhire said Fulmer (elbow) will make his first rehab start for High-A Lakeland "in a day or two," Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.
Fulmer will make his return to game action in the coming days after completing a 50-pitch bullpen with no issues over the weekend. The right-hander has been on the disabled list since mid-July with an oblique strain, so he'll likely require at least one additional rehab outing before being cleared to rejoin the Tigers.

Blake Treinen RP | LAD
Athletics' Blake Treinen: Posts 30th save
Treinen got the save against the Angels on Sunday, striking out the side in a scoreless ninth inning to lock down Oakland's 4-3 victory.
Another day, another save for the dominant right-hander, who has continued his torrid pace and ridiculous numbers coming off his All-Star first half of the season. He now has 30 saves to go along with his fabulous 0.92 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and 79 strikeouts over 59 innings. At this point, he's got a solid argument as the best closer in the game aside from Seattle's Edwin Diaz, and he's showing no signs of slowing down.

Ken Giles RP | ATL
Blue Jays' Ken Giles: Secures 13th save
Giles tossed a perfect ninth inning and struck out one as he notched the save Sunday against the Rays.
After being acquired by the Blue Jays from the Astros prior to the trade deadline, Giles has struggled, allowing seven runs and recording seven punchouts across 4.2 innings. Despite this, Toronto figures to continue to deploy the 27-year-old right-hander in save opportunities. He owns a 6.11 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 38 strikeouts over 35.1 frames in 2018.

Dylan Covey RP | ATL
White Sox's Dylan Covey: Loses fourth straight
Covey (4-9) allowed six runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out three over 2.2 innings to lose his fourth straight start in Sunday's 9-7 loss to Cleveland.
Covey failed to last five innings for the third time in his last four starts and has given up four runs or more in nine of his last 10. He pitched well when initially called up in May, but it's gone south over his last 10 starts, in which he's posted an ungodly 9.13 ERA. Now would seem to be the time to call up prospect Michael Kopech to take Covey's spot in the rotation, but manager Rick Renteria told Brian Sandalow of the Chicago Sun-Times that he's not ready to make the call just yet. "(Pitching coach) Don (Cooper) and I will sit down but right now, until further notice, he's still in the rotation. If we need to make an adjustment, we will, I'm sure," Renteria said. "But we need him to continue to gain more experience in that starter's role." As of now, Covey is scheduled to make a second start this week Saturday at home against the Royals.

Bernardo Flores RP | TEX
White Sox's Bernardo Flores: Exits with injury
Flores left Sunday's minor-league action due to an undisclosed injury.
Flores walked off the mound with the trainer in the bottom of the fourth innings, although the location and severity of the injury remain unclear. He'll be listed as day-to-day until more information is disclosed.

Jakob Junis RP | TEX
Royals' Jakob Junis: Whiffs eight in solid outing
Junis took the no-decision Sunday, allowing just one run on three hits in six innings in the 8-2 loss to St. Louis. He struck out eight batters in the no-decision.
Junis fanned eight batters and allowed only one run for the second straight start, dropping his season ERA from 5.12 to 4.82 during that span. Unfortunately, he took a no-decision in both of those outings as well. He'll carry an unsightly 6-11 record into Friday's start against the White Sox in Chicago.

Edwin Diaz RP | LAD
Mariners' Edwin Diaz: Locks down 46th save
Diaz fired a scoreless 10th inning, allowing one hit and striking out two while earning his 46th save in the 4-3 win over Houston on Sunday.
Diaz has earned a save in each of the last four days and extended his league-leading save total Sunday. He dropped his ERA to 1.98 and has 100 strikeouts in just 59 innings. Diaz will likely be unavailable for at least Monday's contest against Oakland.
