  • Hansel Robles RP | LAD

Angels' Hansel Robles: Called up by Angels

Robles was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Sunday.

Robles had been claimed off waivers from the Mets on Saturday. The Angels will hope he pitches better on the west coast than he did on the east, as he recorded a 5.03 ERA in 19.2 innings for the Mets this season after stumbling to a 4.92 ERA last year. Jose Miguel Fernandez was optioned to Salt Lake in a corresponding move.

  • Ryan Borucki RP | SF

Blue Jays' Ryan Borucki: Primed to make MLB debut

Borucki was scratched from his scheduled start for Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday and is expected to replace Aaron Sanchez (finger) in the Blue Jays' rotation, Shi Davidi of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Providing further confirmation, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports that Borucki is being listed in the Astros' media notes as Toronto's probable starter for Tuesday's game in Houston. Borucki, a 24-year-old lefty, threw seven scoreless innings in his most recent start for Buffalo, lowering his ERA and WHIP to 3.27 and 1.17, respectively, through 77 innings this season. He lines up to oppose Charlie Morton in his major-league debut.

  • Alan Busenitz RP | CIN

Twins' Alan Busenitz: Returns to major leagues

Busenitz was recalled from Triple-A Rochester on Sunday, Mike Berardino of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Fernando Romero was optioned down Saturday, and Busenitz will come up to replace him on the active roster. Busenitz enjoyed a great run with the Twins last year (1.99 ERA, 0.98 WHIP), and while he wasn't as good during a prior stint with the big club earlier this season, his numbers out of the bullpen with Rochester suggest he may be able to carve out a permanent spot in time.

  • Drew Pomeranz RP | CHC

Red Sox's Drew Pomeranz: Bullpen session expected Monday

Pomeranz (biceps, neck) is expected to the throw a bullpen session Monday, Bill Ballou of the Worcester Telegram & Gazette reports.

Manager Alex Cora was optimistic about the progress Pomeranz showed in a session Friday. There will likely be a rehab stint in the minors before the left-hander rejoins the team.

  • Brett Martin RP | TEX

Rangers' Brett Martin: Moved to bullpen

Martin has moved into a bullpen role for Double-A Frisco, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Martin was moved out of the starting rotation four games ago after posting an 8.02 ERA in 10 starts. The 6-foot-4 left-hander has allowed runs in each of his four appearances out of the bullpen.

  • Collin McHugh RP | ATL

Astros' Collin McHugh: Gets second win this week

McHugh (3-0) retired all three batters faced by strikeout and got the win in Saturday's 4-3 extra-inning victory over Kansas City.

McHugh picked up a second win this week while striking out five of the six batters he's faced. The starter-turned-reliever has transitioned into a strikeout pitcher. He has at least one punchout in his last 13 games (27 K's over 19.1 IP) and lords over the rest of the Astros' staff at 12.6 K/9.

  • Jaime Barria RP | CLE

Angels' Jaime Barria: Walks four in no-decision

Barria allowed one run on four hits and four walks while striking out five over five innings in a no-decision against the Blue Jays on Saturday.

The results were OK -- certainly better than they were in his last outing (six earned runs over four innings) -- but Barria was playing with fire with the season-high four walks. He also gave up a homer to Teoscar Hernandez and has now surrendered eight home runs in his last five starts (25 innings). He's tentatively lined up for a road start in Baltimore in next week.

  • Matt Andriese RP | MIA

Rays' Matt Andriese: Opening Sunday's game

Andriese will start Sunday's "bullpen day" versus the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Andriese will open Sunday's series finale against the Yankees, even though Blake Snell was originally listed as the starter. Manager Kevin Cash explained that Snell's designation was actually a communication error, and that the plan had been to give Andriese the start all along in order to afford both Snell and Nathan Eovaldi an extra day of rest. In four June appearances, Andriese has a 5.59 ERA across 9.2 innings.

  • Royals' Brandon Maurer: Squanders save opportunity

Maurer blew a save chance Saturday, allowing one run on two hits and a walk in an inning against the Astros.

Manager Ned Yost turned to Maurer to preserve a one-run lead in the ninth and Maurer couldn't get the job done. This was after lefty Tim Hill successfully converted a save chance Friday -- the first save chance following Kelvin Herrera's trade to Washington. It looks like this will be a committee and Maurer has past ninth-inning experience, but he's struggled mightily at both Triple-A Omaha and in the majors this year and is probably not worth pursuing in mixed leagues unless you're desperate.

  • Lou Trivino RP | PHI

Athletics' Lou Trivino: Earns fifth win

Trivino earned his fifth relief win of the season Saturday against the White Sox, pitching 1.2 innings without allowing a baserunner and racking up four strikeouts.

Trivino entered a bases-loaded, one-out situation with a one-run lead in the bottom of the sixth inning. He allowed the tying run to score on a Yoan Moncada groundout, giving him a blown save, but then struck out the next four batters. His ERA now sits at an impressive 1.48 through 30.1 innings, and he has 34 strikeouts and 13 walks.
