  • Rays' Brent Honeywell: Records second win of season against St. Lucie on Thursday

Honeywell (2-0) scattered five hits, surrendered an earned run and walked two over 5.2 innings in High-A Charlotte's 10-3 victory over St. Lucie on Thursday. He struck out five.

The Rays' 2014 second-round pick continues to steamroll opposing hitters at the High A level, now having generated a minuscule 0.89 ERA over 30.1 innings of work. His other metrics certainly check out as well, as evidenced by Honeywell's 0.79 WHIP and sparkling 31:4 K/BB ratio. With opposing hitters only mustering a .187 average against him to date, the 21-year-old's ascent up the minor-league ladder appears imminent.

  • White Sox's David Robertson: On track for Sunday return

Manager Robin Ventura expects Robertson (personal) to return to the team Sunday, Colleen Kane of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Robertson landed on the bereavement list Thursday while attending to a personal matter, but it appears he will be able to rejoin his teammates after being deactivated for the minimum of three days. Ventura mentioned all of Nate Jones, Matt Albers, and Zach Duke as options to close games in Robertson's absence, but Jones seems like the best bet of the bunch if the White Sox need to protect a ninth-inning lead until Robertson returns.

  • White Sox's David Robertson: Placed on bereavement list

Robertson was placed on the bereavement list ahead of Thursday's game against the Orioles, Scot Gregor of the Daily Herald reports.

Robertson will have to miss a minimum of three games, ruling him out at least until Sunday. Nate Jones, Matt Albers and Zach Duke could all be in the mix for ninth-inning work while Robertson is away from the team. Meanwhile, infielder Carlos Sanchez was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte for the corresponding transaction.

  • Matt Moore RP | BOS

Rays' Matt Moore: Takes loss despite solid outing Wednesday

Moore (1-2) took the loss against the Orioles on Wednesday despite striking out nine and surrendering only three hits, three earned runs and two walks over seven innings.

On a night where the Rays offense was once again muted, Moore's one major mistake proved to be the difference. His fifth-inning, two-out offering to Joey Rickard was launched into the left-field stands for a three-run homer, nullifying what otherwise was a stellar effort by the southpaw. He equaled his longest stint on the mound this season, while also yielding the lowest amount of hits in a start to date. However, both the long ball and to a certain extent, his control, once again helped derail him. The 26-year-old has surrendered a homer in four of his five starts, and has also walked multiple batters in three of those games. On the plus side, he's missing plenty of bats, having recorded 24 whiffs over his last 20 innings of work. He'll try to get back in the win column in his next trip to the mound on Tuesday versus the Dodgers.

  • Collin McHugh RP | ATL

Astros' Collin McHugh: Lasts only five innings, but beats Mariners

McHugh (2-3) needed 101 pitches to get through five innings in Seattle on Wednesday, but allowed just two runs on five hits and a walk en route to the win. He struck out three.

The 28-year-old hurler has been less than impressive to open the year, with one sparkling start against the Royals having been buried by four outings that don't inspire a ton of confidence. This one doesn't either -- if this is what qualifies as a good start from McHugh, he and his fantasy owners are in for a long season.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Will start for Tigers on Friday

Fulmer will be called up to start Friday against the Twins, Chris Iott of MLive.com reports.

Fulmer will jump from Triple-A Toledo into the Tigers' rotation of Shane Greene, who will be placed on the disabled list due to a blister. That could mean several starts with the big league club for Fulmer with Greene out at least a couple weeks. Greene's numbers on the season aren't pretty, but he could get a shot to start again when healthy. However, Fulmer is one of the Tigers' top prospects, so he could make the team's'decision a difficult one if he excels in Green's absence. Fulmer struck out 145 batters over his last 140 minor league innings, so he has some potential in the strikeout category.

  • Michael Fulmer RP | NYY

Tigers' Michael Fulmer: Could be called up soon

Fulmer could be called up in the near future, according to John Wagner of the Toledo Blade.

Fulmer is listed as the scheduled starter for Thursday's game with Triple-A Toledo, but he was seen being congratulated by teammates following Wednesday's contest, which signals he could called up to Detroit for the first time in the coming days. If he is indeed called up, he could jump into the rotation Friday in place of Shane Greene, who is dealing with a blister. Fulmer owns a 4.11 ERA and has racked up 20 strikeouts over 15.1 innings in three starts with Toledo this season.

  • Aaron Loup RP | LAA

Blue Jays' Aaron Loup: Will throw bullpen session Friday

Loup will throw a bullpen session Friday, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet reports.

Loup was sidelined in early March with a flexor tendon strain, but he's made steady progress since then. He played catch off flat ground in mid-March, threw from 90 feet several weeks ago, and is now set to throw a bullpen session. While he's still smack in the middle of his rehab program, he's showing positive signs and is approaching a return to the Blue Jays sometime in May.

  • Bo Schultz RP | PIT

Blue Jays' Bo Schultz: Will begin rehab assignment Thursday

Schultz will began a rehab assignment Thursday, Mike Wilner of Sportsnet reports.

Schultz, who is returning from offseason hip surgery, had been pitching to live hitters the last few weeks but is now set to begin a minor league rehab assignment. If the 30-year-old righty experiences no setbacks during his rehab appearances, he could return to the Blue Jays' bullpen in the near future.

  • Sean Manaea SP | NYM

Athletics' Sean Manaea: Confirmed as Friday's starter

Manager Bob Melvin has confirmed that Manaea will be called up to start for the A's on Friday against the Astros, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Reports surfaced earlier Wednesday that Manaea would be called up to start Friday's contest, and now the club has officially confirmed that to be the case. The 24-year-old lefty has been dominant at Triple-A this season, working a 1.50 ERA with 21 strikeouts and four walks. According to Slusser, Melvin said that Manaea could be up for an extended stint with the A's this season.
