Angels intrigued by idea of facing A's switch-pitcher Pat Venditte
The Angels and Athletics will open a three-game series in Anaheim on Friday night, and the Angels are already intriguied by the idea of facing A's reliever Pat Venditte.
Venditte, major league baseball's first swith-pitcher in 20 years, made his debut for the Athletics last week, and has produced 5 2/3 innings of solid work since.
The Angels faced Venditte in spring training, but not many of their regular players got a chance to face him. They remain eager to step into the box against the switch pitcher.
“I’m curious to see him,” said Angels shortstop Erick Aybar, a switch-hitter. “If he goes left, I’ll hit from the right side. If he goes right, I’ll go left. It should be fun.”
