Scott Carroll the likely starter Sunday
White Sox pitcher Scott Carroll didn't make his scheduled start Wednesday after the team re-arranged the rotation, but his spot won't be skipped completely, with the pitcher likely starting Sunday's game against the Orioles, MLB.com reports.
Carroll's expected return Sunday would push Chris Sale's next start to Monday after the ace made his last start Tuesday. Carroll owns a 4.81 ERA and 48:32 K:BB ratio in 91 2/3 innings.

Trevor May: 'There are definitely brighter days in the future'
Twins rookie pitcher Trevor May made his second career appearance Tuesday against the Astros, but it was his first relief outing since his promotion from the minors. However, like his first career start, it was not a memorable evening for the right-handed pitcher.
May allowed three runs (two earned) on three hits and two walks in 2 1/3 innings, while striking out two. He did, however, lower his ERA from 18.00 to 12.46.
"The first thing you have to do here is command your fastball," manager Ron Gardenhire said, per the Pioneer Press. "He's not commanding his fastball right now. You have to throw it in and out. Up to this point, he hasn't. When he gets his next start, hopefully he'll have figured something out."
May, who is scheduled to start Monday against the Royals, vows to improve.
"I know there are definitely brighter days in the future," he said. "I know the things I need to do -- all things I know how to do. I have to throw all my pitches for strikes. I know that I can do it. It hasn't shown in the last five innings, but it showed in the first 95 (at Rochester)."

Zach Putnam picks up win Tuesday vs. Giants
White Sox pitcher Zach Putnam picked up a win Tuesday, giving up one hit on 1 1/3 innings and striking out one in his team's 3-2, 10-inning victory over the Giants.
Putnam (4-2) was brought on to get the final out of the ninth inning after the Giants scored two runs in the game and did his job. The White Sox stuck with him in the 10th, and he was able to get two quick outs before giving up a two-out single, which didn't ultimately make a difference in the final score. Putnam owns a 2.21 ERA and 33:15 K:BB ratio in 40 2/3 innings.

Josh Collmenter and T.J. House had their starts wiped out Tuesday with the Indians up 1-0 in the fourth.

Collin McHugh picks up the win Tuesday
Astros pitcher Collin McHugh picked up a win Tuesday against the Twins.
McHugh allowed one run on four hits over six innings of work. He struck out three and did not issue any walks during the outing. The only blemish against McHugh was a solo home run. In the second inning, Oswaldo Arcia was able to take McHugh deep. Other than that, McHugh turned in a strong start. Opposing pitcher Yohan Pino has battered by the Astros, giving McHugh the easy win.
With the win, McHugh improved to 5-9 on the year. He'll take on the Red Sox in his next start.

He gave up a solo shot and a two-run homer in the third inning, and allowed a three-run homer in the fifth. Chris Carter was responsible for two home runs and five RBI against Pino.
With the loss, Pino fell to 1-5 on the year. He'll take on the Royals in his next start.

Tommy Layne earns win Tuesday vs. Reds
Red Sox pitcher Tommy Layne picked up a win Tuesday, retiring all three batters he faced in his team's 3-2 victory over the Reds.
Layne (1-0) retired the final batter of the seventh inning before the Red Sox took a lead in the top of the eighth. The reliever then came back on to notch two more outs before giving way to the next pitcher. He owns a 1.35 ERA and 4:3 K:BB ratio in 6 2/3 innings.

Joe Kelly tosses quality start in no-decision vs. Reds
Red Sox pitcher Joe Kelly wasn't a factor in Tuesday's decision after allowing two earned runs on five hits and three walks in six innings and striking out four in his team's 3-2 win over the Reds.
Kelly put the first four runners he faced in the first inning on base with two walks and two singles to bring a pair of runs home, but he locked things down the rest of the way. He even contributed on offense, going 1 for 2 with a stolen base. Kelly owns a 3.75 ERA and 31:17 K:BB ratio in 48 innings. He's scheduled to face the Astros Sunday.

Collin McHugh RP | ATL
Collin McHugh back in the circle of trust
So you picked up Collin McHugh for his two starts this week. Wonderful! You're among the 25 percent of his owners to do so.
But even with that little bump, I still say he's underowned at 66 percent.
His 0-5 record may not show it, but over his last seven starts, you could argue he's been even better than in his first seven, the ones that put him on the map before his little bump in the road convinced everyone he was just a journeyman Quadruple-A performer after all.
As I discuss in my latest post to the Fantasy Baseball Today blog, he and David Peralta are the two players on the most added list who have me most excited (well, other than Javier Baez, but he's 92 percent owned now).
Be sure to check it out.
