  • Diego Castillo RP | COL

Twins' Diego Castillo: Will join big-league bullpen

The Twins are slated to call up Castillo from Triple-A St. Paul, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.

The plan had been to add Castillo to the roster prior to Monday's game versus the Royals, but travel issues could push the transaction to Tuesday. Castillo, 30, has collected a 2.50 ERA and 22:6 K:BB over 18 innings with St. Paul after inking a minor-league pact with the Twins in late March.

  • Chad Green RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Chad Green: Activation imminent

Blue Jays manager John Schneider said Monday that Green (shoulder) could be activated from the injured list as soon as Tuesday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

Green is back with the club in Chicago for its series against the White Sox and his return is imminent. The veteran reliever has been sidelined since mid-April with right shoulder strain and made three scoreless rehab appearances with Triple-A Buffalo.

  • Austin Voth RP | TOR

Mariners' Austin Voth: Nabs second win Sunday

Voth (2-0) got the win and was also credited with a hold against the Nationals on Sunday, firing a perfect eighth inning during which he recorded two strikeouts.

Ryne Stanek struggled in the seventh inning while allowing two runs, narrowing the Mariners' lead to 6-5, but Voth served as a highly effective bridge to Andres Munoz in the ninth by retiring the side on a scant 11 pitches. Voth had allowed at least one earned run in three of his previous four outings -- including two straight -- but he still holds a respectable 3.80 ERA and impressive 0.98 WHIP across 19 appearances.

  • Josh Winder RP | ARI

Twins' Josh Winder: Activated and optioned

The Twins activated Winder (shoulder) from the 60-day injured list Monday and optioned him to Triple-A St. Paul, Betsy Helfand of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Winder has been out all season with a scapular stress fracture in his right shoulder, an injury which was first discovered last October. He posted a 6.39 ERA in 12.2 rehab innings, although that came with a 17:4 K:BB. Winder should get another shot with the Twins later this season, but for now he'll try to sharpen things up at St. Paul.

  • Nick Vespi RP | PHI

Orioles' Nick Vespi: Sent back to minors

The Orioles optioned Vespi to Triple-A Norfolk on Monday.

Vespi is clearing out to make room for Thyago Vieira, who has officially been added to the roster after being acquired via trade over the weekend. The left-handed Vespi has made one appearance with the Orioles this season, throwing a scoreless inning.

  • Shelby Miller RP | CHC

Tigers' Shelby Miller: Slated for rehab assignment

Miller (elbow) is slated to begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.

Miller required a hydrodissection procedure to combat right ulnar nerve inflammation and says he's now "feeling a lot better." The reliever threw his third bullpen session since landing on the injured list on Sunday and is now ready to test things out in games. Miller shouldn't need too many rehab appearances before being activated.

  • Emmanuel Clase RP | CLE

Guardians' Emmanuel Clase: Converts 17th save

Clase allowed a hit in a scoreless inning and earned a save over the Angels on Sunday.

Clase worked around a two-out single to close out the 5-4 victory and pick up his 17th save of the year. He's gone 20.1 straight innings without allowing an earned run and he's converted 13 of his last 14 save chances. Clase's ERA is down to a ridiculous 0.33 with a 26:2 K:BB through 27.1 frames.

  • Guardians' Peter Strzelecki: Sent back to Triple-A

The Guardians optioned Strzelecki to Triple-A Columbus on May 16.

Strzelecki was called up from Triple-A on May 13 but stuck around with the big club for just three days before being sent out to Columbus when fellow reliever Sam Hentges returned from the paternity list. Since his demotion to Triple-A, Strzelecki has appeared in three games and has struck out five over four innings while giving up one earned run on two hits and no walks.

  • Scott Effross RP | DET

    Yankees' Scott Effross: Progressing well

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that Effross (back) is doing well and has been throwing bullpen sessions for several weeks, MLB.com.

Effross hasn't seen game action since the 2022 campaign, and he underwent Tommy John surgery in October of that season. The righty reliever then had back surgery last December, which delayed his quest to return to the majors. Effross appears set to throw live batting practice soon, and the following step could be a minor-league rehab stint.

  • Jose Quijada RP | LAA

    Angels' Jose Quijada: Tossing bullpens

Quijada (elbow) threw bullpen sessions May 17 and May 21, MLB.com reports.

Quijada is making his way back from the Tommy John surgery he underwent May 17, 2023. He's been rehabbing at the Angels' training facility in Arizona and could be ready to return from the 60-day injured list in early July. Quijada will likely take on a low-leverage spot in the Angels bullpen upon his return.
