Dodgers' Bryan Hudson: Joins big-league bullpen

Hudson was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Wednesday, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.

Hudson struggled in his major-league debut with the Dodgers last month but is getting another shot. He's been dominant this season with OKC, holding a 1.83 ERA and 57:15 K:BB over 34.1 innings.

  • Yohan Ramirez RP | PIT

Pirates' Yohan Ramirez: Recalled from Indianapolis

The Pirates recalled Ramirez from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.

Ramirez was optioned to Triple-A on June 20 after allowing five earned runs in 2.1 innings across his last three appearances. Since then, he's thrown four scoreless innings in the minors and has now re-earned a spot in the Pirates' bullpen. Luis Ortiz was optioned to Indianapolis in a corresponding move.

  • Marlins' Eli Villalobos: Outrighted to Double-A

Miami outrighted Villalobos to Double-A Pensacola on Wednesday.

Villalobos was designated for assignment by the Marlins on Monday and passed through waivers unclaimed. The 26-year-old reliever has yet to make his MLB debut.

  • Brad Boxberger RP | CHC

Cubs' Brad Boxberger: Resumes throwing program

Boxberger (forearm) resumed throwing Tuesday in Arizona, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Boxberger was recently transferred to the 60-day injured list, but he's finally making progress in his recovery from the right forearm strain that originally sent him to the 15-day injured list in mid-May. The veteran reliever could be an option again for the Cubs' bullpen mix around the end of July.

  • J.B. Bukauskas RP | MIL

Brewers' J.B. Bukauskas: Optioned to Triple-A level

Milwaukee optioned Bukauskas to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Bukauskas made two appearances during his brief stay in the Brewers' bullpen. The 26-year-old right-hander owns a career 7.08 ERA in 20.1 total major-league frames.

  • Brewers' Clayton Andrews: Sent back to Triple-A

Milwaukee optioned Andrews to Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Andrews was lit up for six runs -- five earned -- over 1.2 innings (two appearances) during his four-day stay in the Brewers' bullpen. Tyson Miller and J.C. Mejia are both getting the call from Nashville ahead of Wednesday's game against the Cubs.

  • Brewers' J.C. Mejia: Selected to MLB bullpen

Milwaukee selected Mejia's contract from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Mejia holds an ugly 8.89 ERA in 54.2 career innings of work at the MLB level, but he'll get another shot with the Brewers after delivering a 3.86 ERA and 32:13 K:BB over 30.1 frames this summer at Triple-A. The 26-year-old right-hander projects to fill a middle-relief role.

  • Tyson Miller RP | CHW

Brewers' Tyson Miller: Summoned from Triple-A

Milwaukee recalled Miller from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday.

Miller will return to the Brewers' bullpen ahead of Wednesday night's game against the Cubs. The righty carries a 5.19 ERA through 8.2 major-league innings (six relief appearances) this year.

  • Zack Thompson RP | STL

Cardinals' Zack Thompson: Back in big leagues

Thompson was recalled from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday.

Thompson was sent to Memphis in early May to stretch back out to start and the results weren't pretty, with the lefty posting a 9.09 ERA and 38:39 K:BB over 32.2 innings. It's not clear at this point whether the Cardinals plan to give him some starts with the big club or put him back in the bullpen where he's had success.

  • Dakota Hudson SP | LAA

Cardinals' Dakota Hudson: Moves up to big club

The Cardinals recalled Hudson from Triple-A Memphis on Wednesday.

Hudson was sent back to Memphis a day after serving as the Cardinals' 27th man in last Saturday's doubleheader with the Yankees, but he'll be back with the big club less than a week later after starter Adam Wainwright (shoulder) was moved to the injured list Tuesday. Steven Matz is set to move into the rotation Wednesday against the Marlins, so Hudson looks as though he'll have to settle for a long-relief role while he's up with the Cardinals, likely through the All-Star break.
