Loup allowed two hits and struck out two in two innings as the opener in Sunday's 6-5 loss to Pittsburgh. He did not factor in the decision.

The southpaw did his job as the opener, and he was ultimately one of the more effective of six pitchers the Mets deployed Sunday. Loup has thrived in a versatile role with eight holds, three wins, a 1.61 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 34:6 K:BB across 28 innings in 31 appearances. Sunday was his first major-league start, but he'll likely return to a high-leverage bullpen role after the All-Star break.

Bednar (2-1) allowed two hits in a scoreless inning and earned the win over the Mets on Sunday.

The 26-year-old benefited from Pittsburgh pulling ahead in the top of the ninth, which put him in line for the win. Bednar hasn't seen a ton of high-leverage work for a struggling team, but he's pitched reasonably well with a 3.09 ERA, 1.11 WHIP and 42:12 K:BB across 35 innings. The right-hander has added six holds and a blown save in 39 appearances.

Weathers was removed in the top of the third inning of Sunday's game against the Rockies after injuring his right knee when he slipped while attempting to tag Colorado's Jon Gray, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. He tossed two scoreless frames and worked around two hits and a walk while striking out one.

Weathers' injury initially looked to have come on a body-to-body collision with Gray, but video replay showed that the rookie lefty hurt his knee upon falling to the ground when his cleat got stuck in the dirt. He looked to be in considerable pain while requiring assistance off the field, which could put Weathers at risk of becoming the latest Padres starter to head to the injured list. Yu Darvish (hip), Blake Snell (illness), Dinelson Lamet (forearm) and Mike Clevinger (elbow) currently reside on the IL.

Manager Davey Martinez announced that Machado has been recalled from Triple-A Rochester prior to Sunday's game against the Giants, Jesse Dougherty of The Washington Post reports.

Machado was sent down Wednesday, but per Martinez, he has stayed with the big club since the demotion. He'll be activated ahead of Sunday's series finale to take the roster spot of Kyle McGowin (biceps), who was placed on the 10-day injured list.

The Giants optioned Beede to Triple-A Sacramento on Sunday.

The righty was likely unavailable Sunday after a three-inning outing Saturday, so he goes to Triple-A to make way for a fresh arm in Caleb Baragar. Beede enters the All-Star break having made just one big-league appearance this season, but he figures to play a role for the Giants following the break, be it in the bullpen or the starting rotation.

Brogdon was placed on the COVID-19 injured list due to contact tracing, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Brogdon is in contact tracing after potentially coming into contact with Alec Bohm (COVID-19), who is the only Phillies player to test positive to this point. Assuming Brogdon continues to test negative and passes through the league's health and safety protocols, he could return shortly after the All-Star break.

Loup will start Sunday's game against the Pirates, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

The lefty is likely capable of giving the Mets a few innings in Sunday's bullpen game, as he's pitched as many as three frames in an outing this year. Loup has held opponents scoreless in 14 of his last 15 appearances dating back to May 22. He has a 19:4 K:BB and 0.68 WHIP in those 14.2 innings.

Hader (3-1) was tagged with the loss Sunday against the Reds after allowing one run on one hit across one inning, fanning two.

Hader pitched the ninth inning in a 3-3 tie, but he gave up the game-winning run on a solo shot from Eugenio Suarez with no outs. Even though the flame-throwing righty settled down afterward, the damage was already done and, as a result, he was tagged with his first loss of the season. This shouldn't have any sort of impact on Hader's role or workload moving forward, though, and he's expected to remain the Brewers' main late-inning arm in the future. He owns an excellent 1.01 ERA and a 0.73 WHIP across 35.2 innings this season, and both figures would be career-best marks if he's able to sustain them during the second half of the campaign.

Llovera was recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley prior to Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Llovera gets his first call to the big leagues this season after four Phillies were placed on the COVID-19 injured list Sunday. Llovera's lone major-league outing did not go well last season, as the right-hander allowed four runs on five hits and one walk in just one inning of work. Llovera, who has posted a 5.40 ERA and 1.60 WHIP across 25 innings at Lehigh Valley this season, should be available out of the Philadelphia bullpen Sunday.
