Hader recorded a three-out save, allowing one hit and one walk while striking out two in the win over the Padres on Wednesday.

It wasn't Hader's most efficient save, but he got the job done. Fernando Tatis' double was the first hit that Hader has allowed all season. The southpaw managed to strike out the last two batters, stranding runners at second and third base for his third save. The 27-year-old has only surrendered one hit and three walks while striking out 11 in 5.2 innings this season.

Suter (1-1) was perfect in 1.1 innings of relief, striking out all four batters he faced to earn the win over the Padres on Wednesday.

Suter was lights out in relief Wednesday, displaying more control than in previous outings against the Pirates and the Cubs. He fired 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing only one hit while striking out four in two games against the Padres, bringing the 31-year-old's ERA to 3.09 in 11.2 innings thus far this season.

Neris (1-1) earned the win Wednesday versus the Giants after recording two strikeouts and not allowing a baserunner during the ninth inning.

The 31-year-old entered for the top of the ninth inning amid a 5-5 tie and retired the side in order, putting him on track for the victory when Andrew Knapp walked off the Giants during the bottom of the frame. Neris has converted two of three save chances and allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits with a 9:3 K:BB across 7.1 innings this season.

Martin (shoulder) could return during the upcoming homestand that begins Friday in Arizona, David O'Brien of The Athletic reports.

This is as good as anyone could have hoped for when Martin was placed on the IL a couple weeks ago with shoulder inflammation. He has been throwing for a few days and could ramp up his activities soon. The homestand runs through April 29, and if he does return during that span, it will likely be towards the end of that final series against the Cubs.

Garcia had one strikeout and didn't allow a baserunner during the ninth inning to earn the save during Wednesday's 3-0 win versus Baltimore.

The 30-year-old needed only 10 pitches to retire the side in order as he continues to pitch well to open the 2021 season. Garcia has a 2-1 record and is 4-for-4 in save opportunities with one run allowed on five hits and a 10:3 K:BB through 10.1 innings.

Lamet left Wednesday's start against the Brewers with right forearm tightness.

Sadly, this development isn't surprising, given that Lamet suffered an elbow strain last September and never underwent surgery. He got some whiffs on his patented slider, but exited after just 29 pitches. He should be considered out indefinitely. Ryan Weathers will likely take his place in the rotation for the foreseeable future.

Lamet was removed from his start Wednesday against the Brewers after two innings due to an apparent injury, Dennis Lin of The Athletic reports. He gave up no runs on a hit and a walk while striking out four prior to departing.

Making his 2021 debut after a prolonged recovery from the elbow strain he suffered last September, Lamet was expected to handle close to a normal workload after covering 75 pitches in his most recent simulated game prior to being activated from the 10-day injured list. Though he looked good during his time on the mound, Lamet's outing came to a surprising end after just 29 pitches. The Padres should provide an explanation later Wednesday regarding what prompted Lamet's early exit, but as Lin notes, manager Jayce Tingler said the primary goal was for the right-hander to finish his season debut healthy, regardless of the results. That goal evidently wasn't accomplished.

Alzolay is scheduled to start Saturday's game against the Brewers, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

The Cubs will be in need of a fifth starter over the weekend, and manager David Ross revealed Wednesday that Alzolay will be recalled to start at home against Milwaukee on Saturday. Alzolay should be fully rested after he pitched at the Cubs' alternate training site Sunday. The right-hander made two starts for Chicago to begin the season and posted a 6.10 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 20.1 innings.

Ramirez was optioned to the Padres' alternate training site Wednesday.

Ramirez's contract was selected by the Padres on Saturday, and he made two relief appearances for San Diego. During that time, he allowed two hits while striking out two in three scoreless innings. However, Ramirez will now return to alternate camp to make room on the major-league roster for Dinelson Lamet (elbow), who was reinstated from the injured list Wednesday.

Lamet (elbow) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list ahead of Wednesday's start against the Brewers.

Lamet had been sidelined since September due to a strained UCL, but he'll be in line to make his season debut on normal rest Wednesday after he threw a 75-pitch simulated game Thursday. The right-hander will join San Diego's rotation after he posted a 2.09 ERA, 0.86 WHIP and 93:20 K:BB in 69 innings across 12 starts in 2020.
