Alzolay (1-0) allowed one run on one hit and two walks across four innings to earn the win Thursday against the Mets. He struck out five.

Alzolay made his much-anticipated debut memorable, retiring 12 of the first 13 hitters he faced over four scoreless frames. He came back out for the ninth, allowing a solo home run and a walk before he was lifted, but Steve Cishek came on to secure the win. Alzolay was more effective than Tyler Chatwood was to begin the game and could be considered for a spot in the rotation. If so, his next outing would likely come at home against the Braves next week.

Nelson (0-2) allowed five runs on seven hits and four walks across five innings while taking the loss Thursday against the Reds. He struck out five.

Nelson got off to a rough start in the first inning, when he allowed three runs on two hits, two walks, and a hit batsman. He settled down nicely until the fifth when he surrendered a two-out, two-run home run to Jose Iglesias. This makes it three consecutive disappointing starts to begin Nelson's season, resulting in an unsightly 9.75 ERA over 12 innings. He'll look to right the ship in his next start on the road against the Mariners.

Pivetta (4-2) allowed six earned runs on seven hits and three walks while striking out two across 5.1 innings to take the loss Thursday against the Nationals.

Pivetta struggled in nearly every facet Thursday, as he was taken deep twice -- once apiece Kurt Suzuki and Anthony Rendon -- and walked more batters than he struck out. He wasn't deceptive, generating just nine swinging strikes on 92 pitches. After pitching fairly well through his first three starts since recalled on May 28, Pivetta has now allowed 10 earned runs across his last 12 innings, allowing five long balls in that span. He'll look to get back on track Wednesday at home against the Mets.

Hoffman allowed one run on three hits with five strikeouts and four walks across 2.2 innings during a no-decision against the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

Although he only yielded one run, Hoffman allowed seven base runners in under three innings. It took him 82 pitches to earn eight outs. His ERA did manage to decrease, but he is still 1-3 with a 6.75 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 36 strikeouts in 33.1 innings this season. His next start will be Tuesday at the Giants.

Wilson's (elbow) MRI results came back clean Thursday, Matt Ehalt of Yahoo Sports reports.

Wilson was scratched from Tuesday's rehab appearance due to tightness in his left elbow, but further testing brought good news for the southpaw. He is currently with the team, but he'll likely head back out to complete his rehab stint in the near future considering his MRI results.

Sborz was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Sborz will provide the Dodgers with extra relief arm ahead of Thursday's bullpen game. He has yet to appear for the big club this season but owns a 4.91 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 37:5 K:BB in 29.1 innings with Oklahoma City. Matt Beaty was sent back to the minors to free up a roster spot for Sborz.

Chargois was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Chargois will provide the Dodgers with an additional relief arm ahead of Thursday's scheduled bullpen game. In a pair of appearances with the big club this season, Chargois has allowed two runs in 1.2 innings of relief. Rich Hill (forearm) was sent to the injured list in a corresponding move.

Ponce de Leon was optioned to Triple-A Memphis on Thursday.

Ponce de Leon is no longer needed in the big-league rotation with Adam Wainwright (hamstring) back from the injured list, so he'll head back to the minors for the time being to remain stretched out. The right-hander owns an impressive 1.20 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 9.6 K/9 through three starts (15 innings) with the Cardinals this season, so he'll remain one of the team's top options should an opening arise in the rotation.

Alzolay was recalled from Triple-A Iowa on Thursday.

Alzolay will be available out of the bullpen for Thursday's series opener against the Mets and could make his big-league debut in long relief behind starter Tyler Chatwood, who isn't fully stretched out. In 32 innings with Iowa this season, the 24-year-old Alzolay owns a 3.09 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 46:6 K:BB. Tim Collins was designated for assignment in a corresponding move.

Brigham was optioned to Triple-A New Orleans on Thursday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Brigham was sent back to the minors to free up a roster spot for Thursday's starter, Zac Gallen. The right-handed Brigham made six appearances during his time with the big club, compiling a 5.87 ERA, 1.83 WHIP and 11:6 K:BB in 7.2 innings during that stretch.
