Steven Okert RP | HOU
Giants' Steven Okert: Recalled from Triple-A
Okert was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.
Okert will return to the Giants for the first time since mid-June. In seven appearances for the big league club on the season, he's allowed eight hits and four earned runs across six innings. At Salt Lake, the 24-year-old holds a 3.80 ERA and 1.35 WHIP across 47.1 innings of relief.

Matt Moore RP | BOS
Giants' Matt Moore: Earns second straight victory Wednesday
Moore (9-10) pitched 5.1 innings while limiting the Diamondbacks to one run on five hits in Wednesday's win. He walked one and struck out seven.
It wasn't quite the near no-hitter from his last start, but it was yet another strong performance in a Giants uniform. Since being acquired from Tampa Bay at the beginning of the month, Moore owns a 3.16 ERA over six starts while notching 36 strikeouts over 37 innings. The left-hander has a tough task at hand Monday when he takes the hill for his next start at the hitter-friendly Coors Field in Colorado.

Shelby Miller RP | CHC
Diamondbacks' Shelby Miller: Shows improvement, but loses in return from minors
Miller (2-10) pitched six quality innings, but still took the loss Wednesday versus the Giants. He allowed two runs on six hits and one walk while notching three strikeouts.
Miller was recalled from Triple-A to make Wednesday's start, his first MLB outing since July 6. Despite the loss, Miller was able to record his third quality start in 15 tries this season. The right-hander certainly looked much better than the last time we saw him -- in his last three starts prior to being demoted, Miller gave up 18 runs and 26 hits over 17 innings. He's scheduled to make another start Tuesday against the Dodgers, but Miller doesn't offer much fantasy appeal outside of a bargain punt play in daily formats.

Tyler Beede RP | CHC
Giants' Tyler Beede: Strikes out 11 in start with Double-A Richmond
Beede tossed a complete-game shutout for Double-A Richmond on Monday. He struck out 11 and walked one.
Beede's fastball was clocked as high as 98 mph Monday. The dominant outing brought the prospect's season ERA down to 2.87 through 23 starts. The 23-year-old has increased his strikeouts (8.47 K/9) and lowered his walks (3.25 BB/9) while keeping his homers allowed in check (0.51 HR/9). A September promotion seems unlikely given that he isn't currently on the 40-man roster. With Phil Bickford being dealt to Milwaukee, Beede should be the Giants' top pitching prospect heading into the 2017 season.

Shelby Miller RP | CHC
Diamondbacks' Shelby Miller: Officially recalled to start Wednesday
Miller was officially recalled from Triple-A to start Wednesday's game against the Giants.
He has been decent enough at Triple-A this year, posting a 3.91 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 55 strikeouts in 50.2 innings while pitching in the harsh conditions of the Pacific Coast League. However, Miller's massive failings in the big leagues this year (7.14 ERA, 1.75 WHIP) should force most owners to take a wait-and-see approach with him over the final month of the season.

Daniel Hudson RP | LAD
Diamondbacks' Daniel Hudson: Nabs second save against Giants
Hudson allowed a run on one hit but still picked up his second save Tuesday against the Giants.
Hudson has allowed a run in each of his past two appearances -- a blown save August 26 and Tuesday's successful outing. The Diamondbacks are testing out Hudson in the closer's role down the stretch thanks to injuries and ineffectiveness out of their bullpen, but it's likely to be a challenge considering Hudson's lack of the typical closer strikeout stuff. Since he moved to the bullpen full time in 2015, Hudson has 113 strikeouts in 115.1 innings -- decent, but not enough to make up for his susceptibility to the home run ball (12 allowed over the past two seasons, 0.9 HR/9). The Diamondbacks have little to lose with this experiment, though, so Hudson's performance as closer will be worth keeping an eye on.

Robert Stephenson RP | LAA
Reds' Robert Stephenson: Command issues still a problem
Stephenson continues to struggle with his command at Triple-A Louisville, and he has conceded that it's become a mental issue for him, the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.
Stephenson has posted disappointing ratios this year - 4.58 ERA, 1.39 WHIP, and 113:68 K:BB over 129.2 innings. He might still get a September promotion, but it's not at all certain that he'll begin 2017 in the majors.

Tim Adleman RP | DET
Reds' Tim Adleman: Takes loss in quality start against Angels
Adleman allowed three runs on seven hits and a walk with four strikeouts over six innings in a loss Tuesday to the Angels.
Adleman lasted six innings for the first time since his first start May 1 against Pittsburgh, giving him his second quality start of the season. Unfortunately, though, Adleman gave up two home runs and has now served up five blasts over his past two starts. If he can't fix that problem, his 3.82 ERA is going to start trending upwards real soon, as he doesn't garner nearly enough strikeouts (6.1 K/9) to get around such a big home run issue.

Mark Melancon RP | ARI
Nationals' Mark Melancon: Locks down save number 37 Tuesday
Melancon earned save number 37 Tuesday in Philadelphia, allowing a walk while striking out one in a scoreless ninth inning.
Melancon worked around a leadoff walk to preserve a well-deserved 3-2 victory for starter Max Scherzer. He has now converted 37 out of 40 save opportunities in 2016.

Aroldis Chapman RP | BOS
Cubs' Aroldis Chapman: Picks up 31st save Tuesday versus Pirates
Chapman struck out one in a clean ninth Tuesday against the Pirates to secure his 31st save of the season.
The dominant left-hander is now 11-for-13 in save chances since debuting with the Cubs on July 27. During that time, he's allowed just two earned runs in 15.2 innings while notching 26 strikeouts.
