Suarez earned a save against the Rockies on Wednesday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning.

Suarez needed just seven pitches (five of which were strikes) to set the Rockies down in order and preserve a three-run San Diego victory. The right-hander extended his streak of scoreless outings to nine and lowered his sterling ERA to 0.77. Suarez has been one of the league's best closers so far this season with nine saves (tied for first in MLB).

Payamps recorded the save in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Pirates, striking out two in a scoreless ninth inning.

The Pirates made things interesting in the ninth, getting the tying and go-ahead runs on base on a pair of Milwaukee errors. However, Payamps got Jared Triolo to fly out before striking out Andrew McCutchen to seal the 3-2 victory, notching his fourth save of the year. The 30-year-old Payamps has three saves in his last four outings as he lowered his ERA to 3.72 with a 0.62 WHIP and 9:1 K:BB through 9.2 innings. Payamps appears to be the current favorite for saves but is hardly locked in as Milwaukee's closer, with Abner Uribe and Trevor Megill also in the mix.

Diaz earned the save in Wednesday's 7-4 win over the Phillies, allowing one hit in a scoreless inning.

After allowing three runs and blowing a save in his first outing this year, Diaz has converted his subsequent five save opportunities, allowing just one run while striking out 10 over his last nine appearances. His ERA is down to 3.48 with a 1.16 WHIP across 10.1 innings this season.

Neris allowed a solo home run but still managed to secure the save in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Astros. He struck out one.

Neris started the frame by allowing a home run to Jose Altuve, but he rebounded to retire the next three batters and earn his second save of the season. With Adbert Alzolay out of the closer's role following four blown saves, Neris figures to see plenty of endgame opportunities in the near future for the 15-9 Cubs. If the veteran pitches well, he could hold onto the job for the rest of the season.

Iglesias blew the save Wednesday against the Marlins, allowing two runs (one earned) on three hits and no walks across one inning. He struck out one.

Iglesias was given two runs of cushion in the ninth but allowed three consecutive singles to open up the frame. With the bases loaded and no outs, a hard-hit groundball by Josh Bell ricocheted off Matt Olson into Atlanta's dugout, allowing two runs to score. The outing snapped Iglesias's streak of seven straight appearances with a save and it was just his second outing allowing a run in 10 appearances.

Sanchez didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against Atlanta, allowing three runs on five hits and a walk over 2.2 innings. He struck out three.

While the outing was Sanchez's first start since 2020, he operated in more of an opener capacity. He was shaky in the first inning, giving up a walk to Ronald Acuna and a single to Michael Harris to open up the game. With runners on first and third, Sanchez inexplicably tried a pick-off move to second base, allowing Acuna to score on a balk for the first score of a two-run inning. After giving up a run in each of his first four appearances this season, Sanchez looked to be turning the corner, posting three consecutive scoreless outings before Wednesday's poor start. In 10 innings, Sanchez owns a 7.20 ERA and 6:4 K:BB.

Graterol (shoulder) has stopped his throwing program due to his arm remaining sore and manager Dave Roberts stated Wednesday, "It's going to be a long program" to get him back, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Graterol threw a bullpen session last week and appeared to be trending well in his recovery, but his rehab program will now be put on pause. The right-hander may now have a difficult time returning from the 60-day injured list when first eligible May 18.

Blach is slated to start Wednesday's game against the Padres at Coors Field.

Per Patrick Lyons of JustBaseball.com, the Rockies are likely to treat Wednesday's contest as a bullpen day, as Blach tossed an inning of relief Monday and may not be ready to handle a typical starter's workload just two days later. Prior to getting a call-up from Triple-A Albuquerque last weekend, Blach had made four starts for the Rockies' top affiliate, logging a 3.45 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB in 15.2 innings. Blach will presumably be in line for just one start before moving back to the bullpen after Wednesday's game.

The Reds transferred Young from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Wednesday.

Young has been on the shelf all season while recovering low back disc degeneration, an issue that resulted in him being shut down in mid-March during spring training. Manager David Bell recently disclosed that Young wasn't expected to be ready to make his season debut until late May, so the lefty reliever's move to the 60-day injured list won't have much effect, if any, on his recovery timeline.

Walker will serve as the Giants' opening pitcher for Wednesday's game against the Mets, Alex Pavlovic of NBC Sports Bay Area reports.

The Giants will opt for an impromptu bullpen day in the series finale with the Mets after Blake Snell (adductor) was scratched from his scheduled start and placed on the 15-day injured list. New acquisition Mitch White would seem to be a candidate to eat some innings as a bulk reliever Wednesday once Walker exits the contest.
