Jaden Hill RP | COL
Rockies' Jaden Hill: Promoted for twin bill
The Rockies recalled Hill from Triple-A Albuquerque to serve as the 27th man for Sunday's doubleheader against the Nationals.
The right-hander was unable to earn a spot on Colorado's Opening Day roster. but he'll join the big club for the twin bill and provide some bullpen depth. Hill has struck out 15 batters over 7.2 innings for Albuquerque this year, but he allowed four runs without recording an out in his last outing to inflate his ERA to 5.87.

Mariners' Sauryn Lao: Gets first call to big leagues
The Mariners called up Lao from Triple-A Tacoma on Sunday.
Lao has started all three games in which he has pitched in the minors this season, but he's tossed only three frames in each of those appearances and is likely to work in the bullpen while up with Seattle. The right-hander has been effective with Tacoma, posting a 2.00 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 7:1 K:BB over nine innings. To make room for Lao on the 40-man roster, the Mariners are designating Casey Lawrence for assignment, per Tim Booth of the Seattle Times.

Nick Sandlin RP | LAA
Blue Jays' Nick Sandlin: Lands on IL due to lat strain
The Blue Jays placed Sandlin on the 15-day injured list Sunday due to a right lat strain.
This is a significant blow to Toronto's bullpen, as Sandlin has been a key member of the unit this season with a 2.25 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 10:4 K:BB over eight innings while notching a save and two holds. It's not yet clear if he'll need to miss more than the minimum, but to make up for his absence, fellow righty relievers Paxton Schultz and Dillon Tate were called up from the minors while Jacob Barnes was designated for assignment.

Paxton Schultz RP | WAS
Blue Jays' Paxton Schultz: Getting first look in majors
Toronto recalled Schultz from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday.
Schultz's call-up was one of a series of Toronto roster moves involving relievers Sunday, as fellow righty Dillon Tate was also added to the roster while Jacob Barnes was DFA'd and Nick Sandlin (lat) was placed on the 15-day IL. Schultz is getting Barnes' 40-man roster spot and has the opportunity to make his big-league debut following a lengthy career in the minors. He has a 4.48 career ERA over 130 minor-league games, 70 of which came as a starter. Schultz has been sharp out of the bullpen for Buffalo this season, posting a 2.08 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 9:2 K:BB over 8.2 innings.

Caleb Thielbar RP | CHC
Cubs' Caleb Thielbar: Picks up first win
Thielbar (1-0) tossed two scoreless innings of relief with a strikeout to earn the win in Saturday's 6-2 victory over the Diamondbacks.
Thielbar worked the fifth and sixth innings after starter Ben Brown covered the first four frames. That set the lefty reliever up for his first win in a Chicago uniform. Thielbar allowed two runs in his third appearance of the year, but since then, the veteran reliever has only allowed two total runs across 6.1 innings in seven appearances. His fantasy upside is limited, however, as a middle-relief option for the Cubs.

Dillon Tate RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Dillon Tate: Added to big-league bullpen
The Blue Jays recalled Tate from Triple-A Buffalo on Sunday.
Tate's call-up was one of a series of Toronto roster moves involving relievers Sunday, as fellow righty Paxton Schultz was also summoned while Jacob Barnes was DFA'd and Nick Sandlin (lat) was placed on the 15-day IL. Tate tossed 36.2 innings over 33 regular-season games with Baltimore and Toronto last season and finished with a 4.66 ERA, 1.47 WHIP and 27:12 K:BB while picking up a win, a save and three holds. He'll likely have a low-leverage role while up with the big club.

Brenan Hanifee RP | DET
Tigers' Brenan Hanifee: Earns first hold Saturday
Hanifee worked around a hit to toss a scoreless inning of relief and earn a hold in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Royals.
Following seven stellar innings from starter Casey Mize, Hanifee pitched a clean eighth before turning things over to Will Vest for the save, with Detroit's usual high-leverage options unavailable. It was the first hold of the season for Hanifee, who was just recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Friday. The righty has been effective when given an opportunity in the majors, as he has a 1.86 ERA this year across 9.2 innings, and he posted a 1.84 ERA across 29.1 regular-season innings in 2024.

Cody Poteet RP | BAL
Orioles' Cody Poteet: Joining big-league club
The Orioles recalled Poteet from Triple-A Norfolk on Sunday.
Poteet joined Baltimore via a trade with the Cubs in late March, and the veteran righty will now get a chance to debut with his new club. The right-hander has been used as both a reliever and a starter in his major-league career, and he started four of the five regular-season games in which he appeared with the Yankees last year, posting a 2.22 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 16:8 K:BB over 24.1 innings. Poteet had been working as a reliever in Norfolk, and he tossed three innings in his most recent outing April 17. He could provide bullpen depth while up with Baltimore.

Brent Suter RP | ATL
Reds' Brent Suter: Set to start Sunday
Suter will start Sunday's game against the Orioles, Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News reports.
Sunday's previously scheduled starter Carson Spiers was needed to pitch Saturday and is now on the injured list with a shoulder issue, prompting the Reds to turn to Suter as an opener for the series finale in Baltimore. The left-hander has given up two earned runs with a 3:1 K:BB across 6.2 innings this season, and he should turn things over to the Cincinnati bullpen after an inning or two. Randy Wynne was added to the roster for Sunday's contest and is a candidate to work in bulk relief.
