The Mets outrighted Herget to Triple-A Syracuse on Tuesday.

The Mets designated Herget for assignment Sunday after he tossed a scoreless frame in the lone relief appearance with the club. After clearing waivers, Herget will stick around in the organization as bullpen depth at Syracuse rather than electing free agency.

Anderson will start Wednesday's game against the Mariners and is expected to transition into a full-time rotation role, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

With Tarik Skubal and Casey Mize shipped out of town at the trade deadline, the Tigers need to fill some rotation spots, and Anderson will be tapped to fill one of the openings. The 32-year-old has pitched almost exclusively out of the bullpen this season, posting a 4.24 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 78:24 K:BB across 63.2 innings. He hasn't recorded more than five outs in any appearance in more than a month, so Anderson will likely be operating with a light pitch count in what will be his third start of the season. Ty Madden could be called upon to cover multiple innings out of the bullpen once Anderson exits the game.

The Red Sox released Kahnle on Tuesday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

The Red Sox had signed Kahnle to a minor-league contract in mid-July after designating him for assignment earlier in the month. The right-hander has had an unstable season with the Red Sox as he tried to hang on to a job.

The Cubs designated Woodford for assignment Tuesday, Jared Wyllys of AllCHGO.com reports.

Woodford will cede his spot on the roster to right-hander Ryan Zeferjahn, who was acquired from the Angels on Monday. A journeyman at this stage of his career, Woodford has pitched to a 7.18 ERA, 1.79 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB across 26.1 innings in the majors with the Brewers and Cubs this season.

The Guardians transferred Armstrong (calf) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Armstrong hit the 15-day injured list July 25 due to left calf strain. He won't be eligible to return until Sept. 23, so there's a chance he will not return until the 2027 season.

Bautista (shoulder) threw live batting practice Tuesday, Matt Weyrich of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Bautista is still working his way back from labrum and rotator cuff surgery and has a chance to make his 2026 debut toward the tail end of the season. The 31-year-old has pitched in just 35 games since the end of the 2023 campaign.

The Rockies selected Mushinski from Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday.

Mushinski re-signed with the Rockies on a minor-league contract in March after being released a few days before. He has notched a 3.38 ERA with a 1.19 WHIP and a 46:17 K:BB through 48.0 innings at Triple-A during 2026. The lefty has not made an appearance in MLB since 2024, when he had a 6.55 ERA and a 1.45 WHIP across 11 innings.

Lord (side) began a rehab assignment Saturday at Triple-A Rochester, striking out two batters over a perfect inning.

Lord has been on the injured list since July 9 due to left side tightness, but he'll likely need just one or two more appearances in the minors before getting the green light to rejoin the Washington bullpen. Before getting hurt, the right reliever turned in a 3.88 ERA and 1.22 WHIP over 58 innings while gathering five wins, one save and four holds.

The Rays optioned Grove to Triple-A Durham on Tuesday.

The right-hander was promoted from Durham on Monday and will quickly return to the affiliate to make room on the big-league roster for trade acquisition Tyler Wells. Grove has made two appearances with Tampa Bay this year and has pitched well in that limited sample with two earned runs allowed and a 4:0 K:BB over five innings.

Interim Red Sox manager Chad Tracy said Tuesday that Crochet (lat/shoulder) has resumed throwing from 50-to-60 feet on flat ground, Mac Cerullo of the Boston Herald reports.

It's a significant development in Crochet's rehab program, as he hadn't thrown a baseball since lat tightness forced him to shut down his throwing program in late May. The left-hander still has a significant way to go before being cleared for game action, but he still appears to have a shot of rejoining the Red Sox before the end of the regular season.
