Montgomery (elbow) allowed one run on five hits and two walks while striking out three over 4.1 innings in a rehab start for Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

Montgomery built up to 75 pitches in his seventh rehab start, which he's hoping will be his final outing in the minors before coming off the 60-day injured list, per Kennedi Landry of MLB.com. Rangers manager Skip Schumaker wouldn't commit to Montgomery making his next appearance in the majors, however, as the Rangers presumably want to assess him during a bullpen session before deciding on his next step. Montgomery -- who has been on the shelf all season while recovering from March 2025 UCL surgery -- has turned in a 4.74 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 16:2 K:BB in 19 innings over his seven starts between Round Rock and Double-A Frisco.

The Red Sox activated Suarez (groin/illness) from the 15-day injured list to start Sunday's game against the Blue Jays, Gabrielle Starr of the Boston Herald reports.

The left-hander was originally poised to come off the injured list in the middle of last week, but an illness pushed back his return. Now fully recovered from the ailment and the groin strain that originally landed him on the IL, Suarez is ready to make his first big-league appearance since July 5. In five starts prior to that injury-shortened outing, the 30-year-old had a 2.10 ERA, 1.07 WHIP and 35:7 K:BB over 30 innings.

Prielipp (finger) is listed as the Twins' probable starting pitcher for Sunday's game versus the A's.

Prielipp landed on the shelf just before the All-Star break due to a blister on his left middle finger, but he's apparently been cleared to rejoin the big-league rotation after one rehab start. The left-hander initially appeared set to take the mound in Saturday's contest, but Kendry Rojas instead ended up making a spot start in place of Mike Paredes (oblique). Prielipp has a 5.00 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 71:25 K:BB across 66.2 innings this season in his first taste of the big leagues, and he could have some workload limitations Sunday since he covered just three frames in his rehab outing.

Bassitt (back) threw a bullpen session Saturday, per MLB.com.

It's a significant step forward for Bassitt, who's continuing his throwing progression as he works his way back from an extended absence with lower-back tightness. The veteran right-hander received a facet injection in mid-June and then underwent a minor procedure to have a bone spur removed shortly thereafter. Bassitt is likely to require a lengthy rehab assignment once he's cleared for game action, so his return to Baltimore's rotation is unlikely to come until sometime in mid-to-late August.

Woo (7-7) allowed five runs on nine hits and two walks while striking out five over five innings to take the loss versus the Rangers on Saturday.

Woo surrendered all five runs over the first two innings. It's the fourth time in his last eight starts he's given up at least five runs as he continues to battle inconsistency on a week-to-week basis. The right-hander has a 4.37 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 114:24 K:BB through 115.1 innings over 20 outings this year. Woo's next start is projected to be at home versus the Twins.

Eovaldi (10-8) allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking out eight over seven innings to earn the win over the Mariners on Saturday.

Eovaldi had allowed 11 runs (10 earned) across 15 innings over his first three starts in July. He bounced back with a gem Saturday, never giving the Mariners much to work with as he threw 61 of 91 pitches for strikes. Eovaldi has maintained a 4.05 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 130:29 K:BB through 122.1 innings over 20 starts this season, and he's allowed one run or fewer in six of those games. The veteran right-hander is projected to make his next start on the road versus the Rays.

Burke (7-5) took the loss against Houston on Saturday, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits and one walk while striking out 10 batters over six innings.

Burke continued his recent strong stretch of pitching, notching his fourth straight quality start and registering double-digit punchouts for the second time during that span. He got through five scoreless frames, but a three-run Astros sixth, aided by a hit-by-pitch and a Braden Montgomery error, gave Houston all the offense needed to send Burke to the loss. Still, Burke is in the midst of a breakout campaign, and his uptick in punchouts of late -- he's posted eight or more strikeouts five times across his past seven outings -- is particularly promising from a fantasy perspective. The right-hander will look to keep rolling in his next start, which is projected to be a home matchup against the Yankees.

Young did not factor into the decision in Saturday's 3-2 win over Atlanta, allowing one run on four hits and two walks with six strikeouts over 6.1 innings.

Young opened with five scoreless frames before allowing a run on a groundout in the sixth, throwing 58 of 94 pitches for strikes with 11 whiffs. It marked the third straight quality start for the 27-year-old, who has pitched into the seventh frame in each of those three outings and owns a 3.20 ERA through four July contests. He'll carry a 3.13 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 80:34 K:BB across 97.2 innings this season into a home matchup with the Phillies next weekend.

Brown (2-1) earned the win over the White Sox on Saturday, pitching seven scoreless innings during which he allowed two hits and struck out seven batters without issuing any walks.

Brown struggled mightily across his first three starts in July, posting a 7.98 ERA and 1.91 WHIP with a startling 11:15 K:BB over 14.2 innings. He turned things around dramatically against Chicago on Saturday, completing seven frames for the first time in 2026 while collecting a season-high seven punchouts with a whopping 20 whiffs. Brown allowed just two baserunners (on a pair of singles) and retired the final 12 batters he faced in the dominant outing. His performance -- especially the lack of walks -- was promising both for the Astros and his fantasy managers, and Brown will look to build on the effort in his next start, which is lined up to come at home versus Texas.

Gray (12-2) took the loss against the Blue Jays on Saturday, allowing five runs on 10 hits and no walks with three strikeouts over five innings.

All five runs came with two outs in the third inning, but Gray wasn't at his best all day, allowing 10 hard-hit balls despite generating an impressive 12 whiffs on 75 pitches. It was a rare clunker for the 36-year-old, who snapped a streak of nine straight quality starts while taking his first loss since April 14. He owns a 2.78 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 93:28 K:BB across 106.2 innings this season and will aim to rebound in a road matchup with the Athletics next week.
