Urquidy (5-2) allowed three runs on five hits and a walk with six strikeouts in six innings, earning the win over the Royals on Friday.

Urquidy had a very strong game going before yielding a three-run homer to Bobby Witt in the sixth inning. The right-hander has now won three of his last four starts, but he's given up 35 hits in 22.1 innings in that span. For the season, Urquidy has posted a 4.76 ERA, 1.51 WHIP and 40:8 K:BB across 51 innings in 10 starts. He'll look to build off of Friday's positive game in his next scheduled start, tentatively set for a home outing versus the Mariners next week.

Dunning allowed two runs on three hits and no walks with seven strikeouts in seven innings versus the Mariners on Friday. He did not factor in the decision.

Dunning was strong in this one, but Joe Barlow blew a save in the ninth inning to cost the starter a win. This was Dunning's fourth quality start in 11 outings this year, and it was also the second time he hasn't issued a walk. He's posted a 4.11 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 63:20 K:BB across 61.1 innings. The right-hander projects to make his next start on the road in Cleveland next week.

Gilbert allowed two runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk with seven strikeouts in six innings, taking a no-decision versus the Rangers on Friday.

Gilbert was solid, but a pair of RBI doubles to Corey Seager and Kole Calhoun in the sixth inning left the game tied when the 25-year-old exited. He had gone seven innings in each of his last three starts, but this was still his fourth straight quality start. The right-hander is cruising in his second big-league season, posting a 2.22 ERA, 1.03 WHIP and 67:19 K:BB across 65 innings in 11 starts. He'll look to improve on his 5-2 record next week in a tough road start versus the Astros.

Bieber (3-3) yielded two runs on three hits and two walks over seven innings Friday, striking out 11 and earning a win over Baltimore.

Bieber carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning before allowing a two-out single to Trey Mancini. After seven shutout frames, he gave up two singles to begin the eighth and was eventually charged with two runs with Enyel De Los Santos on the mound. He lowered his ERA to 3.12 with a 62:16 K:BB through 60.2 frames. Bieber has posted a 1.92 ERA with 33 punchouts over his last four starts. The 27-year-old is lined up to face the Rangers at home next week.

Martin (0-2) took the loss Friday versus the Rays, allowing four runs on five hits and three walks with one strikeout in 5.1 innings.

Vince Velasquez (groin) went on the injured list Friday, and Martin was called up from Triple-A Charlotte to make the start. All four of the runs on his line came in the first inning, which was capped off by a two-run home run from Randy Arozarena. In 10.1 big-league innings this year, Martin has allowed five runs, 10 hits and four walks with eight strikeouts. He tentatively lines up for a difficult home start versus the Dodgers next week if he stays in the rotation throughout Velasquez's absence.

McClanahan (6-2) earned the win Friday over the White Sox. He allowed two runs on six hits and struck out eight without issuing a walk in six innings.

By his recent standards, this was a little bit of a downturn for McClanahan, who allowed multiple runs for the first time since May 5. He's picked up wins in four straight starts and five of his last six outings, and he had all the support he needed Friday after the first inning. The southpaw is now at a 2.10 ERA, 0.92 WHIP and 89:12 K:BB across 64.1 innings in 11 starts this year. He'll look to keep rolling at home versus the Cardinals next week.

Lynn (knee) gave up three runs on four hits and one walk over four innings Friday in a rehab start for Triple-A Charlotte, Scot Gregor of the Chicago Daily Herald reports.

He built up to 62 pitches after throwing 39 pitches in his previous outing. According to Gregor, Lynn will require at least one more rehab start before joining the White Sox.

Cole (5-1) allowed two hits over seven scoreless frames Friday, striking out nine and earning a win over the Tigers.

Cole was dominant Friday, carrying a perfect game bid into the seventh inning before allowing a pair of two-out singles to Jonathan Schoop and Miguel Cabrera. The 31-year-old righty has struck out at least nine batters in five of his last six outings, posting a terrific 54:5 K:BB with a 2.66 ERA during that stretch. Cole is now sporting a 2.78 ERA and a 0.96 WHIP through 11 starts this season. He's projected to take the mound in Minnesota next week.

Sale (ribs) could face hitters next week, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.

He has thrown a string of bullpen sessions this week and will throw another one this weekend before potentially ramping up his throwing program. It's unclear how many rehab outings he will need before returning from the injured list.

McCullers (forearm) threw 20 pitches off the mound Friday with his fastball velocity bumping up to 87 mph, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.

In Tuesday's bullpen session he hit 86 mph with his fastball, so he is making gradual improvements. It doesn't sound like he is particularly close to returning to the big-league rotation, given where his velocity is and the fact he hasn't faced hitters yet.
