Manoah will follow an opener and operate as the Angels' bulk pitcher Monday against the Guardians, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

After returning from a stint on the injured list Wednesday, the right-hander made his Angels debut out of the bullpen Friday against the Blue Jays, recording a strikeout while throwing seven of his 11 total pitches for strikes. Following the recent demotion of Sam Aldegheri to Triple-A Salt Lake, the Angels have an opening in the rotation and will call upon Manoah to serve as their primary pitcher Monday. If Manoah fares well in what will likely be a multi-inning appearance, he could be called upon again to either make a start or work in bulk relief during next weekend's series versus the Dodgers, though Grayson Rodriguez (shoulder) is nearing a return from the injured list and might also be a candidate to step into the rotation when a fifth starter is next needed.

Teng (1-3) was tagged with the loss in Sunday's game against the Reds, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk while striking out one batter across three innings.

Teng has pitched well out of the bullpen this season but was thrust into a starting role for Sunday's game. He kept the Reds off the board through the first three innings but ran into trouble in the fourth, yielding three runs on four hits without recording an out before being pulled. Unfortunately for Teng, he was unable to avoid the loss after his Astros teammates failed to score a run on three hits and a walk. Teng could make another start given the myriad of injuries to the Astros' rotation, and that could come next weekend at home against the Rangers.

Williams (5-3) took the loss against the Twins on Sunday, allowing five runs on 10 hits and one walk while striking out six across six innings.

Williams generated a whopping 24 whiffs while tossing 73 strikes on 101 pitches and limited the Twins to one run through four innings. However, things fell apart for him in the fifth; he gave up four runs in the frame, and his Guardians teammates couldn't generate enough runs for him to avoid the loss. Williams has yielded at least five earned runs and nine baserunners in three of his last four starts and now sits at a 3.74 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 66:22 K:BB across 55.1 innings. He'll look to bounce back in his next start, which is slated for next weekend at home against the Reds.

Rojas (1-0) was credited with the win during Sunday's game against the Guardians. He allowed one run on five hits and three walks while striking out five across 3.1 innings.

Rojas entered Sunday's game in the second inning after Andrew Morris logged a scoreless first frame on just six pitches. Rojas was able to hold his own, tossing 34 strikes on 60 pitches while recording 11 first-pitch strikes, and it was enough for him to come away with the first major-league victory of his career. He was recalled from Triple-A St. Paul prior to Sunday's contest, but it's possible that Rojas sticks around with the big club in a bulk-relief role given the injuries to the Twins' rotation.

Miles opened Sunday's game against the Angels, allowing two hits while striking out two batters across three scoreless innings. He did not issue a walk.

Sunday was the first major-league start of Miles' career, as he served as the Blue Jays' opener in the series finale. He ended up tossing 28 strikes on 38 pitches (73.7 percent) and limited the Angels to just two baserunners, though Eric Lauer -- who served in the bulk-relief role -- ended up taking the loss after yielding six runs over the final five frames. Given Lauer's struggles this season and the myriad of injuries to the Blue Jays' rotation, it's possible that Miles will see some more spot starts moving forward.

Lauer (1-5) took the loss against the Angels on Sunday. He allowed six runs on five htis and two walks while striking out four across five innings.

Spencer Miles served as Toronto's opener for Sunday's series finale, and he ended up tossing three scoreless innings before Tommy Nance came in to toss a clean, eight-pitch fourth. Lauer entered the game in the fifth with the Blue Jays up 1-0, but the 30-year-old southpaw struggled out of the gate and allowed four runs in the frame, including a two-run homer to the second batter he faced, Oswald Peraza. Lauer proceeded to yield solo long balls to Jo Adell in both the sixth and ninth, and the former now sits at a 6.69 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 26:16 K:BB across 36.1 innings this season. Lauer's next turn in the rotation is tentatively slated for next weekend on the road against the Tigers, though it's possible that Blue Jays manager John Schneider upgrades Miles to a starter role given the team's injuries in the rotation.

Tolle (1-2) took the loss Sunday against the Rays, allowing three runs on seven hits over five innings. He struck out four without walking a batter.

The seven hits given up by Tolle on Sunday matched his total allowed across 17.2 innings in his first three starts this season. The left-hander's ERA sits at 2.78 this year with a 0.88 WHIP and 27:6 K:BB over 22.2 innings. Tolle is currently lined up for a tough road matchup in Atlanta his next time out.

Weathers (illness) is slated to start Monday's series opener in Baltimore, Meredith Marakovits of YES Network reports.

Weathers was scratched ahead of his previously scheduled start this past Thursday against the Rangers after struggling to bounce back from an illness that surfaced earlier in the week, but the southpaw has since made a full recovery from the ailment. He was able to complete a side session without incident over the weekend and isn't expected to be operating with any restrictions Monday when he takes the hill for his eighth start of the season.

Severino (2-4) took the loss against the Orioles on Sunday, allowing two runs on six hits and four walks with four strikeouts over 5.1 innings.

Severino limited the damage but lacked command overall, issuing four walks while generating only seven whiffs on 102 pitches. On the bright side, the 32-year-old has now yielded just five earned runs over his past four starts while completing at least five frames in seven straight outings. He'll carry a 4.07 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 47:29 K:BB across 48.2 innings into a home matchup against the Giants next weekend.

The Tigers transferred Verlander to the 60-day injured list Sunday.

The 43-year-old progressed to facing live batters Saturday as he continues to work his way back from hip inflammation, which sent him to the IL after his season debut March 30. Verlander was already likely to require a few rehab starts in the minors before rejoining Detroit's rotation, so the move to the 60-day IL likely doesn't affect his return timeline much. He'll be eligible to come off the IL at the start of June.
