Cease (COVID-19 protocols) and the White Sox won't play against the Red Sox on Friday as the game was postponed due to inclement weather.

The 25-year-old was supposed to start in his return from the COVID-19 injured list Friday, but the game was instead pushed to Sunday due to snow. Chicago hasn't announced its updated pitching plans, but it could push back the rest of the rotation and have Cease start Saturday's contest.

Lyles allowed three earned runs on five hits and one walk while striking out four over 5.1 innings Thursday. He did not factor in the decision in the win over the Rays.

Lyles was decent in his start Thursday, where most of his damage came on a fourth inning two-run home run from Mike Brosseau. The right-hander was able to improve on strikeouts compared to his last start when he only picked up a single punchout. Lyles is being used as a traditional starter for the time being and is scheduled to face the Angels next.

Hill allowed four earned runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out a pair over 4.1 innings Thursday. He did not factor in the decision in the loss to the Rangers.

Hill surrendered a pair of home runs to Nick Solak and Charlie Culberson causing the bulk of his damage. Hill has allowed four runs in each of his three starts. The veteran southpaw was less effective in striking out batters Thursday, with only two punchouts. He is scheduled for a date with the Royals next week.

Civale (3-0) gave up one run on five hits and two walks while fanning four across six innings to get the win Thursday over the White Sox.

Civale wasn't as dominant as he was during his first two starts, a span in which he struck out 12 across 14.2 innings, but he still did enough in this one, outpitching Lance Lynn. It's worth noting that his sparkling 2.18 ERA has benefited from plenty of luck early on, as Civale has surrendered an unsustainable .146 BABIP alongside an 83.3 percent strand rate. Nonetheless, the 25-year-old right-hander will try to keep the good times rolling in his next start, scheduled for next week at home against these same White Sox.

Lynn (1-1) allowed two runs on five hits while striking out 10 across six innings Thursday against Cleveland. He was tagged with the loss.

Lynn recorded a quality start and fanned double-digit batters for the second straight game this season, but that wasn't enough to garner the win with Adam Civale stifling Chicago's offense. Nonetheless, these were the first two earned runs allowed by Lynn across 19.2 innings to begin the season. He'll try to keep it going in a road rematch with Cleveland next week.

Dunn (1-0) tossed five innings of one-run ball in Game 2 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Orioles, allowing two hits and two walks and striking out six to earn the win.

Dunn made his first start since April 7 and looked far more composed this time around. He had walked eight across 4.2 innings in his previous outing, but the right-hander showed much better control this time around. He still owns an ugly 9:10 K:BB through 9.2 innings, but this performance was a step in the right direction.

Skubal (0-2) allowed one earned run on two hits and four walks while striking out five over four innings of work in a loss to the Athletics on Thursday.

The lefty showed some improvement in his third start of the season for Detroit. The 24-year-old threw only 46 of his 88 pitches for strikes, so he's still struggling with his command, but he managed to escape with minimal damage thanks to his impressive arsenal of pitches. Nonetheless, his 6.08 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 12:9 K:BB point to Skubal being more of an asset in dynasty leagues than yearly formats. Skubal's next chance to take the rubber will come Wednesday against the Pirates.

Gonzales (1-1) allowed two runs on three hits while walking two and striking out five across five innings to earn the win in Game 1 of Thursday's doubleheader against the Orioles.

Gonzales began the season by allowing 12 earned runs across 10.1 innings while surrendering five home runs in his first two starts. It looked to be more of the same Thursday when he allowed a two-run home run in the opening frame, though he settled in from there to turn in his first solid outing of the campaign. Despite the positive outcome, the outing still had its flaws, as Gonzales has now surrendered multiple walks in all three of his turns through the rotation and maintains a 4.1 BB/9. He's currently projected to draw his next start Thursday at Boston.

Stripling was placed on the 10-day injured list with a mild flexor strain Thursday, Rob Longley of the Toronto Sun reports.

Stripling was scratched from his scheduled start Wednesday after he couldn't get his forearm loose during a workout the morning of the game. The Blue Jays are hopeful that the right-hander is dealing with a minor issue, but he'll still land on the injured list after he was diagnosed with a strain. Anthony Kay was recalled by Toronto to start Thursday's game against Kansas City. It's not yet clear when Stripling will be able to return.

Cease (COVID-19 protocols) is available to make his scheduled start against the Red Sox on Friday, James Fegan of The Athletic reports.

Cease was displaying COVID-like symptoms Wednesday and was placed on the 10-day injured list as a precautionary measure. However, he was feeling good Thursday and has officially cleared the league's health and safety protocols after testing negative once again. The right-hander posted a 3.86 ERA and 1.61 WHIP over 9.1 innings in his first two starts of the season.
