Cease (1-2) took the loss after surrendering four runs on three hits and four walks while striking out four over five innings Sunday against the Rays.

Cease's biggest mistake of the day came in the second inning, as he allowed a grand slam to Travis d'Arnaud, and he'd later exit the contest facing a four-run deficit. The 23-year-old right-hander has now been saddled with back-to-back losses after picking up his first win of the season July 3 against Detroit. He'll aim to get back in the win column in his next start, which lines up for Friday against the Twins.

Snell (6-7) picked up the win after allowing three hits and two walks while striking out 10 over six scoreless innings Sunday against the White Sox.

Snell turned in a stellar performance in the series finale, and he'd leave the contest after six strong innings of work with a 4-0 lead. He pounded the strike zone, firing 70 of 109 pitches for strikes while throwing first-pitch strikes to 16 of the 22 batters he faced. the lefty will carry a 4.28 ERA with 136 strikeouts over 101 innings into his next start.

Kluber (forearm) will throw his next bullpen session Wednesday, Tom Withers of the Associated Press reports.

He is traveling with the team to Toronto and will throw what is reportedly his third bullpen session. It is unclear when Kluber will be able to return to the big-league rotation, but a late August return cannot be ruled out.

The Twins have shown continued interest in trading for Stroman, Jon Morosi of MLB Network reports.

He tossed seven shutout innings Friday in front of evaluators from eight teams (Braves, Cubs, Dodgers, Padres, Rays, Reds, Red Sox, Yankees), and while the Twins did not have a scout in attendance, Morosi notes that they are among the frontrunners to trade for Stroman. The Yankees were the only team with two scouts at the game, while the other seven teams sent one evaluator.

Berrios allowed five hits and three walks while striking out four across 5.2 scoreless innings Saturday against the Athletics. He did not factor into the decision.

Berrios didn't allow an extra-base hit but was unable to complete six innings as the Athletics fouled off 31 of his offerings. Nonetheless, it was a positive outing for Berrios as he had allowed three earned runs in each of his past three starts -- only one of which went beyond five frames. He now owns a 2.96 ERA and 1.15 WHIP while striking out 114 across 127.2 innings this season. He'll look to build off this effort in his next start, currently scheduled for Thursday on the road against the White Sox.

Canning allowed two runs on four hits and a walk over five innings Saturday. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision in a win over the Mariners.

Canning allowed runs in the second and third innings, but otherwise kept it tidy. It was a solid bounce-back performance for the rookie right-hander, who failed to complete two innings in his previous start. Canning owns a 4.67 ERA and 77:24 K:BB in 71.1 innings this season. He'll take a 3-4 record into his next start versus the lowly Orioles on Thursday.

Giolito allowed one run on seven hits with one walk and nine strikeouts across 6.2 innings in a no-decision against the Rays on Saturday.

The 25-year-old couldn't quite record the last out of the seventh, and because of the solo shot he yielded in that frame, Giolito was in line for the loss when he departed. James McCann's homer in the ninth tied the game and prevented that from happening. Giolito is 11-4 with a 3.12 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 134 strikeouts in 112.2 innings. He is due to start next at home against the Twins on Thursday.

Urquidy (1-0) picked up the win in Saturday's 5-1 victory over the Rangers, giving up one run on two hits over seven innings while striking out nine.

After two fairly rough appearances to begin his big-league career, Urquidy was dazzling in this one, with only Shin-Soo Choo's solo shot in the fourth inning accounting for any damage against the rookie. The outing was likely enough to earn him at least one more turn through the rotation, which would come next weekend in St. Louis if Urquidy does stick around.

Bundy (knee) is officially scheduled to start Tuesday against the Diamondbacks, Joe Trezza of MLB.com reports.

Bundy expected to miss just one start when he landed on the 10-day injured list with right knee tendinitis last Saturday, and he should be able to do so. He's had a rough time in his last four outings, giving up 17 runs in 17 innings, though at least some of that can likely be attributed to the knee issue.

Lynch (arm) will began a rehab assignment in the Arizona League soon, Jeffrey Flanagan of MLB.com reports.

Lynch has been out with arm soreness since early June. He's recently finished going through a throwing progression and should be pitching in games shortly.
