  • Dylan Bundy SP | NYM

    Orioles' Dylan Bundy: Takes loss

Bundy (0-3) gave up four runs (two earned) on seven hits with one walk while striking out four over six innings in a loss to the Twins on Sunday.

An error to start the game immediately put Bundy in a difficult situation. Even with the loss, this is an encouraging start as he induced 13 swinging-strikes and did not allow a home run in his longest outing of the season. Bundy will look to build on this performance next Sunday in a rematch in Minnesota.

  • Kyle Gibson SP | BAL

Twins' Kyle Gibson: Gets first win

Gibson (1-0) struck out six and gave up two runs on five hits with no walks over six innings in a win over the Orioles on Sunday.

Gibson turned in a fine outing to win his first decision. This was easily his best start, as he induced 14 swinging strikes and 17 called strikes. The right-hander has a 1-0 record with a 6.10 ERA through four starts this season. Gibson will make his next start next Sunday in a rematch against the Orioles.

  • Tyler Glasnow SP | LAD

Rays' Tyler Glasnow: Struggles with command

Glasnow struck out five and yielded two runs on three walks and three hits in 5.1 innings in a no-decision against Boston on Sunday.

Coming into Sunday's start, Glasnow had issued just three free passes in 24 innings but matched that total against the Red Sox. He also threw just 49 of 76 pitches for strikes. Still, he owns a terrific 29:6 K:BB and 1.53 ERA in 2019. The 25-year-old righty will try to get his revenge in Boston next Saturday.

  • Yonny Chirinos SP | MIA

Rays' Yonny Chirinos: To start Monday

Chirinos will start Monday against the Royals, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.

Chirinos has been used as both a starter and a long reliever -- pitching the bulk of the game after an opener -- so he should be able to pitch fairly deep into Monday's game. He's had good results this season, posting a 3.26 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 19:4 K:BB across 19.1 innings.

  • James Paxton SP | BOS

Yankees' James Paxton: Dominant in no-decision

Paxton struck out 12 and gave up just three hits and one walk over six scoreless innings in a no-decision against the Royals on Sunday.

The left-hander was lights out for a second straight start and was unlucky not to get rewarded with the win as his bullpen melted down and coughed up a 5-0 lead. Paxton is locked in at the moment, as he's racked up 24 strikeouts against just two walks over his last 14 innings without allowing a run over that time. He's now sporting a 3.10 ERA, a 1.14 WHIP and an excellent 43:8 K:BB through 29 innings.

  • Blake Snell SP | LAD

Rays' Blake Snell: Won't be ready for Royals series

Snell (fractured toe) will not return for the series against the Royals and will throw another bullpen session either Monday or Tuesday, Josh Tolentino of The Athletic reports.

A best-case scenario had Snell returning for Wednesday's game against the Royals, but now it seems like the new best-case scenario is that he returns for next weekend's series in Boston. This makes for a very tricky decision for fantasy managers, as we probably won't know if he will start next weekend until after weekly lineups lock.

  • Yusei Kikuchi SP | LAA

Mariners' Yusei Kikuchi: Escapes with unlikely victory

Kikuchi (1-1) allowed four earned runs on 10 hits and two walks over five innings in a win over the Angels on Saturday. He struck out three.

As his final line indicates, the left-hander pitched to plenty of contact, but he managed to limit just enough damage to still finish with a win by night's end. Kikuchi didn't let the ball leave the yard, but he did give up plenty of hard contact in the form of a trio of doubles and one three-bagger. The 27-year-old has allowed at least three earned runs in each of his last four trips to the mound and is now slated to work as a one- or two-inning opener in one of his next two starts as part of the Mariners' maintenance program for him in his first season stateside.

  • Chris Bassitt SP | BAL

Athletics' Chris Bassitt: Set for '19 debut

Bassitt will make his first start of 2019 against the Rangers on Monday, Alex Espinoza of MLB.com reports.

Bassitt was recalled from Triple-A Las Vegas last Wednesday in the wake of Marco Estrada's placement on the injured list with a lumbar strain. Bassitt has had his own health challenges already this season, as he spent time on the IL with a right shin contusion caused by a liner he'd taken in a Japan exhibition in March. The veteran made three rehab starts overall and worked up to 72 pitches in his final one, so manager Bob Melvin projects Bassitt as capable of going up to 90-95 pitches Monday.

  • White Sox's Lucas Giolito: Hopes to miss just one start

Giolito (hamstring) feels close to 100 percent and hopes to only miss one start, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

It sounds like he could come off the injured list when first eligible, April 28 against the Tigers. If he doesn't come back for that start, he will likely pitch in the following series against the Orioles. He has been throwing on the side but is waiting to be cleared to throw a full-effort bullpen session. Manny Banuelos has been confirmed to start Monday's game in Baltimore.

  • Gerrit Cole SP | NYY

    Astros' Gerrit Cole: Tipping pitches?

Cole believes he may have been tipping his pitches during the first inning of Saturday's 9-4 loss to Texas, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Cole allowed five first-inning runs on the way to his shortest outing (4.1 IP) since joining the Astros prior to the 2018 season. "I think they were maybe a little bit of a step ahead of me in terms of maybe being able to identify what pitch I was throwing," said Cole. "I made some adjustments throughout the game and that seemed to clean that up, and by the time I got to the fifth, I was dog tired and started to spray again." While watching video after the game, Cole said he could tell what pitches he was going to throw and assumes the Rangers knew it as well. The right-hander will attempt to clean it up before his next start Thursday at home against the Indians.
