Irvin did not factor into the decision in a win over the Yankees on Thursday, allowing five runs on five hits and two walks over 4.2 innings while striking out two.

Irvin had a hard time with the Yankees' lineup for much of the afternoon, allowing runs in three of the five innings in which he appeared before being relieved by Bryan Baker. Irvin surrendered two home runs in the contest, something he hadn't done in any of his previous 13 outings, while he also matched his season high with five runs allowed. Irvin had gone at least five innings in four consecutive starts prior to Thursday's game and will look to bounce back next week when the Orioles take on the Guardians in Baltimore.

Gil (9-2) was hit with the loss against the Orioles on Thursday, allowing seven runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out one over 1.1 innings.

Gil struggled out of the gate, surrendering a leadoff double to open the contest before eventually allowing one run in the first. However, things would get much worse for the right-hander in the following frame, as he failed to retire nine of the next 10 batters he faced, leading to his shortest outing of the campaign. Gil gave up a season-high seven runs on the afternoon and failed to make it through six innings for the third consecutive start. It also marked his first loss since April 15 against Toronto.

Soriano was placed on the 15-day injured list with an abdomen infection Thursday.

Soriano was scratched from his start Monday and was expected to miss another turn through the rotation. It was originally anticipated that he would avoid the injured list, so it's unclear how long he may be sidelined. The move was retroactive to Monday, so Soriano will be eligible to return in early July.

Allen (8-3) earned the win Thursday against the Mariners, allowing three runs on four hits and four walks across six innings. He struck out two.

Allen did not start off well, allowing a leadoff single to J.P. Crawford followed by a homer to Dylan Moore, but he allowed just one more run the rest of the way to earn his eighth win and complete his fifth quality start of the season. Allen, who also hit a batter on the day, continues to struggle with missing bats, having struck out just eight batters over the last three starts spanning 17 innings after having struck out 51 across 58.2 innings during his first 12 outings. Despite the dearth of strikeouts during this most recent stretch, Allen's ERA stands at 3.17 over the last three games as opposed to 5.83 during the 12 games prior. Things will not get easier for his next start as he's currently scheduled to take on the Orioles in Baltimore.

The Mariners signed Kaminsky to a minor-league contract Monday.

Kaminsky spent last season in the Mariners organization, posting a 7.52 ERA and 18:8 K:BB over 20.1 innings during his time at Triple-A Tacoma. He'll return to Tacoma and provide Seattle some left-handed relief depth at its top affiliate.

Corniell will undergo season-ending surgery to repair the UCL in his right elbow, Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News reports.

Corniell has been sidelined all season with an elbow issue. While his injury was initially referred to as inflammation when he went on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Frisco back in early April, subsequent testing revealed a more serious concern. It's not yet clear whether Corniell will have a full Tommy John surgery or internal brace procedure, but in either case he won't pitch again in 2024 and is likely to miss at least a large chunk, if not all, of the 2025 season.

Crochet (6-6) took the loss against Houston on Wednesday, allowing three runs on nine hits and one walk while striking out eight batters over six innings.

Crochet racked up a hearty 19 whiffs and eight punchouts, but it wasn't enough to keep him out of the loss column in a contest during which he was supported with just one run. The fact that the three earned runs were the most the left-hander has allowed since April 24 speaks volumes about the quality of his campaign thus far. Crochet has tallied six consecutive quality starts and is tied for 10th in the majors with 10 total on the campaign. He also ranks second in the league with 124 punchouts while posting a 3.25 ERA and 0.95 WHIP through 88.2 innings.

Brown (4-5) earned the win against the White Sox on Wednesday, allowing one run on seven hits and no walks while striking out six batters over six innings.

The only run scored against Brown came on an Andrew Benintendi solo homer in the fourth inning. Otherwise, Brown was solid again -- all six of Chicago's other hits were singles, and the right-handed hurler didn't issue any walks for the second straight outing. Brown had an awful 9.78 ERA through 23 innings across his first six starts this season, but he's since lowered that mark to 4.72. He's been especially impressive of late, racking up six straight quality starts and limiting his opponents to one run over 19 frames while posting a 22:4 K:BB across his past three outings.

Heaney allowed three runs on four hits and two walks while striking out nine batters over six innings in a no-decision against the Mets on Wednesday.

Heaney induced 15 swinging strikes in the outing, helping him reach a season-high nine punchouts. The left-hander's strong start was somewhat spoiled by a Pete Alonso two-run homer in the sixth, but Heaney still completed that frame to finish with his fourth quality start of the campaign. The veteran hurler is just 2-8 on the season, but he's offered some stability at the back of Texas' rotation by giving up three or fewer earned runs in each of his past 10 appearances, posting a 3.26 ERA across 49.2 frames during that span.

Medina (1-2) allowed one run on six hits and two walks while striking out three over 5.2 innings to earn the win Wednesday over the Royals.

Medina came up one out short of a quality start, exiting the game at 88 pitches (54 strikes). He's had two good outings and two poor starts since joining the Athletics' rotation at the start of June. The 25-year-old is now at a 4.71 ERA, 1.48 WHIP and 13:10 K:BB through 21 innings this season. With a weak offense to support him and a lack of dominant command, Medina offers minimal upside in fantasy outside of favorable matchups. He'll have one of those in his next start, which is projected to be on the road versus the Angels.
