Rea didn't factor in the decision Sunday in St. Louis after he allowed five hits and three walks over five scoreless innings. He struck out three.

Rea tallied just three whiffs and threw 49 of 89 pitches for strikes, but he kept the Cardinals off the board for his first scoreless start of the campaign. The 33-year-old has taken no-decision in each of his past two starts, but he's been a pivotal rotation piece early this season for Milwaukee with a 2.08 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 14:6 K:BB in 21.2 innings to go along with a 2-0 record.

Gray (2-1) struck out 12 and took the loss Sunday against Milwaukee after he allowed two runs on five hits and one walk over 6.1 innings.

The veteran right-hander limited the Brewers to just two singles and a walk through six innings, but they rallied for two runs on three singles and a stolen base in the seventh. Gray appeared to be in midseason form and generated 19 swinging strikes, but he never had a chance at the victory since the Cardinals offense was blanked. He's been electric through three starts for St. Louis with a 1.04 ERA, 0.87 WHIP and 23:1 K:BB across 17.1 innings. Run support has been an issue early on, as the Cardinals have scored just six total runs in his three outings.

Perez (1-1) picked up the loss Sunday against the Red Sox, allowing four runs on six hits over four innings. He walked four and struck out seven.

The day began with a seven pitch walk which set the tone for the Boston effort against Perez, who was consistently battled throughout his outing and labored through 91 pitches over four-plus innings. Perez came into the game with just seven walks and 16 strikeouts through four starts spanning 24.2 innings, but uncharacteristically walked four and struck out seven on the day, leading to the elevated pitch count. Despite allowing eight baserunners through four, Perez held the Red Sox in check by allowing just two runs. He was then pulled after allowing the first two runners to reach base in the fifth with a one-out single by Reese McGuire off reliever Ryder Ryan plating both inherited runners and saddling Perez with four earned runs allowed. Perez will look to rebound in his next start, tentatively slated to take place during next weekend's series in San Francisco against the Giants.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Buehler (elbow) will continue his rehab assignment Wednesday with Triple-A Oklahoma City, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The right-hander covered just 2.2 frames in his previous rehab outing with two runs allowed on four hits and four walks, so he'll require at least one more outing in the minors. Buehler may need to showcase improved command if Wednesday's outing is to be his last of the rehab assignment.

Montas (forearm) said after Sunday's game against the Angels that he's likely to miss his next start due to soreness and swelling, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Montas recorded just two outs before a comebacker forced him from Sunday's game, and it appears the forearm bruise will cost him at least one turn through the rotation. The right-hander avoided a fracture but may still require a trip to the injured list, depending how quickly the swelling and soreness subsides.

Montas had X-rays come back negative and was diagnosed with a right forearm bruise after exiting Sunday's start against the Angels.

The right-hander was struck by a comebacker during the opening frame but appears to have avoided a serious injury. Montas should be considered day-to-day, and it remains to be seen if he'll be ready for his next turn through the rotation.

Kelly will return to Phoenix to be evaluated after he was scratched ahead of his scheduled start Sunday in San Francisco due to a right shoulder injury, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Kelly had an MRI on Saturday, but the Diamondbacks haven't disclosed the results. While the fact that Kelly is being sent in for further evaluation wouldn't seem to be a promising sign, manager Torey Lovullo hopes a trip to the injured list won't be necessary for the right-hander. Slade Cecconi was called up from Triple-A Reno to start in the series finale against the Giants.

Montas was removed from Sudnay's game against the Angels after being hit in the right arm by a comebacker, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Montas was struck by a line drive off the bat of Taylor Ward during the first inning and was unable to remain in the contest. The specifics of the injury remain unclear, but the right-hander could be headed for medical imaging.

The Diamondbacks recalled Cecconi from Triple-A Reno on Sunday, and he will start against the Giants.

Cecconi was unable to make the big-league roster out of spring training. He had a good outing in his last start with Reno on April 16, allowing one run on five hits and one walk while striking out six batters over six frames. Cecconi appeared in seven games for the Diamondbacks last season and posted a 4.33 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 20:4 K:BB over 27 innings. To make room for Cecconi, the Diamondbacks optioned right-hander Justin Martinez to Triple-A Reno. Cecconi will be thrown right into the fire, as he will start Sunday for Merrill Kelly (undisclosed).

Kelly (undisclosed) was scratched from Sunday's game against the Giants, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Kelly was set to make his fifth start of the season Sunday. It's unclear why Kelly was scratched, though Piecoro speculates that its due to an injury. Kelly has gone 2-0 over his first four starts of the year, posting a 2.19 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 21:6 K:BB over 24.2 innings. In Kelly's place, Slade Cecconi, who was called up from Triple-A Reno on Sunday, will get the start.
