Henry (5-3) took the loss Friday, giving up four runs (three earned) on four hits and four walks over 4.1 innings as the Diamondbacks fell 9-6 to the Reds. He struck out two and also hit two batters with pitches.

Some shaky defense by Geraldo Perdomo did him no favors, but Henry created plenty of problems for himself, as he tossed only 47 of 88 pitches for strikes before getting the hook. The southpaw has issued four free passes in two of his last three outings, and since the beginning of June he's posted a 4.29 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 33:18 K:BB through 42 innings. Henry will look for a better result in his next start, likely to come at home next week against the Cardinals.

Suarez (2-5) took the loss Friday, giving up four runs on eight hits and two walks over five innings as the Phillies fell 6-5 to the Guardians. He struck out five and also threw two wild pitches.

Cleveland had runners in scoring position in four of the five frames Suarez worked, and the southpaw mostly wasn't able to wiggle off the hook. He's lost three straight decisions in his four July outings, stumbling to a 6.14 ERA and 17:12 K:BB through 22 innings on the month. Suarez will try to get back on track in his next start, which is likely to come at home next week against the Orioles.

Lugo (4-4) earned the win Friday, allowing two runs on six hits and three walks over six innings against the Tigers. He struck out seven.

Lugo tied his season high with seven strikeouts, a mark he set April 2, and recorded his first win since May 3. Since returning from the injured list June 20, the right-hander has pitched fairly well, posting a 3.24 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 33:5 K:BB over six appearances (33.1 innings). Lugo's next start is lined up for a home matchup against the Pirates.

Freeland (shoulder) is throwing another bullpen session Saturday, MLB.com reports.

Freeland threw a 40-pitch bullpen session Wednesday and will continue to ramp up activity. Assuming there are no setbacks, he's hoping to return to the team's rotation next weekend in a series against the Athletics.

Oviedo (3-11) allowed five runs on three hits and three walks while striking out four over four innings to take the loss Friday versus the Angels.

Oviedo got through the first three innings with little trouble, but the Angels got to him the second time through the order. The right-hander has had trouble with the long ball lately, giving up eight homers across his last six starts and taking the loss in five of those outings. He's at a 4.77 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 101:46 K:BB through 111.1 innings over 20 starts this season. Oviedo's projected for a road start in San Diego next week.

Gonsolin yielded four runs on two hits and three walks over five innings in Friday's win over Texas. He struck out six and did not factor in the decision.

Gonsolin allowed a two-run homer in the first inning and later gave up two more runs in the fourth. He's been tagged with at least four runs in five of his last six outings, spiking his ERA from 1.93 to 3.94 during that span. The six strikeouts were his highest total since June 18, but he's been taken deep four times in his last three starts. Gonsolin's next outing is currently lined up to come at home against Toronto next week.

Wolf will be called up to make his major-league debut in a start Saturday at Detroit, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

It had already been reported that Wolf was being promoted, but now he's officially locked in as the Padres' starter Saturday. The 24-year-old left-hander has posted a strong 3.39 ERA, 0.99 WHIP and 104:20 K:BB in 85 innings (17 starts) this season with Double-A San Antonio and is probably worth an immediate look in fantasy against a Detroit team that ranks 28th in team OPS at .667. Wolf was a fourth-round pick in the 2021 MLB Draft out of West Virginia University.

Soroka (2-1) yielded four runs on six hits and two walks over six innings Friday, striking out four and earning a win over Milwaukee.

Soroka was tagged with two runs in the first inning but kept the Brewers off the board after that until Willy Adames' two-run shot in the sixth. Soroka completed six innings for the third time in six MLB appearances this season, but the 25-year-old has allowed seven homers through 29.1 innings. He now owns a 5.52 ERA and 23:11 K:BB. Soroka is currently lined up to face the Brewers at home next week.

Peralta (6-8) allowed six runs on six hits and three walks over five innings Friday, striking out five and taking a loss against Atlanta.

Peralta stumbled against a strong lineup and was taken deep twice, accounting for four of the six runs. He had given up three or fewer runs in five straight outings prior to Friday's ugly outing, and his ERA spiked to 4.72 with a 118:43 K:BB through 19 starts. Peralta's next outing is projected to come at home against the Reds next week.

Wood (4-4) took the loss Friday after surrendering five earned runs on five hits and two walks over four-plus innings versus the Nationals. He tallied only one strikeout.

Wood gave up homers to Lane Thomas and CJ Abrams within the first two innings and then was pulled from the game after yielding a leadoff single to Abrams in the bottom of the fifth. The 32-year-old left-hander has been inconsistent all year and is now showing an overall 4.99 ERA and 1.54 WHIP through 11 starts and four relief appearances. He'll aim to rebound against the Athletics in his next turn through the Giants' rotation.
