Wheeler did not factor into the decision Tuesday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk over six innings in a 2-1 loss against the Cubs. He struck out five.

In his second start since returning from the injured list, Wheeler delivered his 16th quality start of the season, needing just 62 pitches to get through six innings after throwing 58 in his first start back from the forearm injury. He will carry a 2.92 ERA into his next start.

Stroman (5-7) earned the win Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits and one walk with six strikeouts over seven innings in a 2-1 victory over the Phillies.

Stroman held the Phillies in check most of the night as the only damage came via an RBI double off the bat of Bryce Harper in the sixth inning. The veteran has thrown seven innings in two of his last three starts and recorded a quality start in all three of those outings. Over his last 10 starts, Stroman owns a healthy 3.25 ERA but only two wins. He tentatively lines up to face Cincinnati this weekend.

Keller allowed a run on five hits, three walks and two hit batsmen while striking out five in five innings in a 4-1 win Tuesday against Cincinnati. He did not factor into the decision.

Keller was a bit wild in Tuesday's start, hitting two batters and throwing a wild pitch that scored the only run against him. Twice he was able to get out of a bases-loaded, two-out jam. In five September starts, he has a 1.80 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 26:12 K:BB in 30 innings. His final start of the season will likely come early next week against St. Louis.

Greene allowed an unearned run on four hits, three walks and two hit batsmen while striking out 10 in six innings in a 4-1 loss Tuesday in Pittsburgh. He did not factor into the decision.

Despite allowing nine baserunners, Greene managed to limit the Pirates to one unearned run. In the fifth, he loaded the bases with no outs but got out of the inning unscathed. It was his second double-digit strikeout performance of the season with both coming in his last three starts. Since returning from a shoulder injury Sept. 17, he's posted a 1.06 ERA, 0.94 WHIP and 29:6 K:BB in 17 innings. His final start of the season will likely be early next week against the Cubs.

Houser was removed from Tuesday's start against the Cardinals with an apparent groin injury, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.

The right-hander appeared to suffer the injury during the fourth inning as he landed awkwardly while delivering a pitch. Houser exited in line for the loss and allowed three runs on two hits with three strikeouts and four walks over 3.1 frames. He limped off the field under his own power, and it's unclear how the injury will affect his next turn through the rotation.

Manager Dave Roberts said Heaney is likely to follow a yet-to-be named opener Thursday against the Padres, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.

Heaney has started in all 14 of his appearances for the Dodgers this season, but he'll follow an opener Thursday in preparation for his role for the playoffs. The left-hander has a 3.06 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 97:18 K:BB across 64.2 innings this season, though it appears he's behind Clayton Kershaw, Julio Urias, Tyler Anderson and Tony Gonsolin (forearm) in the pecking order for the postseason rotation.

May (back) felt good while playing catch Tuesday and is "completely confident" he'll be available for the NLDS, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

The right-hander has been on the shelf for less than a week with tightness in his lower back, so it's an encouraging sign he's back to throwing with no issues. May should continue ramping up his throwing program in the coming days as he attempts to get cleared in time for the postseason. Chances are, May will be limited to relief duty, at least for the NLDS.

Gore (elbow) is trending toward making one start for the Nationals before the end of the season, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.

Gore gave up six earned runs on six hits, including three home runs, while walking one and striking out three over 3.2 innings in his rehab start Monday at Triple-A. The young lefty said he felt really good about his first three innings but felt fatigue in the fourth inning. Gore will throw a long bullpen session this week, and assuming that goes well, he will likely make a start this weekend against the Phillies.

Miley (oblique) played catch Tuesday, Jordan Bastian of MLB.com reports.

He exited Saturday's game with left oblique tightness and it's unclear if Miley will be able to make another start this season. The veteran southpaw has a 3.94 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 16 strikeouts in 16 innings through four September outings.

Elder (2-3) allowed six hits and a walk while striking out six in a complete game shutout of the Nationals on Monday.

The 23-year-old right-hander is one of the late-comers to Atlanta's rookie brigade, but he's making a case for inclusion on the team's postseason roster. Elder has posted a 0.65 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 28:8 K:BB over 27.2 innings in four spot starts dating back to mid-August, but it should be noted all four outings came against Miami or Washington.
