Flaherty (shoulder) recently threw a light side session, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.

Flaherty has been on the injured list since late June with a right shoulder strain and isn't eligible to return until late August after he was transferred to the 60-day IL. However, the Cardinals hope that the right-hander will be able to rejoin the team soon to continue his rehab process with the major-league training staff.

Meyer (elbow) was transferred to the 60-day injured list Friday, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Meyer needs Tommy John surgery, and it couldn't have come at a worse time on the calendar as he may not be ready for game action until after the 2023 season. In the meantime, Trevor Rogers also landed on the shelf with backs spasms, so Nick Neidert may be on his way up from Triple-A to join the Marlins' rotation.

Rogers was placed on the 15-day injured list Friday with lower-back spasms, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Rogers has a 6.67 ERA, 1.72 WHIP, 54 strikeouts and two wins in his last 55.1 innings (12 starts). Nick Neidert is expected to take Rogers' spot in the rotation Saturday against the Mets.

Megill (shoulder) will likely work out of the bullpen once he is activated, Tim Britton of The Athletic reports.

He began a throwing program a couple weeks ago but has not begun a rehab assignment yet. Megill made waves as a starter earlier this season, so he may be stretched out next spring after potentially helping the Mets make a playoff run while getting big outs in relief.

Gore may be able to avoid surgery on his elbow, but he'll continue to be evaluated for the next few days, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Gore was placed on the 15-day injured list Tuesday and the team's medical staff is still determining the extent of his injury. While it's possible the southpaw will be able to recover with a period of rest and rehab, it seems likely he'll need more than the minimum 15 days on the shelf.

Feltner was recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.

He has a 6.15 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 33 strikeouts in 33.2 innings in the majors this season. Feltner last pitched July 24 at Triple-A and tossed five innings, so he should be capable of working in long relief this weekend at home against the Dodgers.

Peterson was optioned to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

Peterson wasn't listed as a starter for any games during the Mets' weekend series against Miami, and he'll ultimately head to the minors with Jacob deGrom (shoulder) on track to make his season debut next week. Peterson posted a 4.64 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 21.1 innings over six outings in July and will be a candidate for a call-up if the Mets need an additional starter at some point.

Ashcraft did not factor into the decision Thursday, allowing four runs on eight hits and two walks over 6.2 innings against the Marlins. He struck out six.

Ashcraft allowed three or fewer earned runs for the eighth time this season, but the Reds' bullpen was unable to hold onto a two-run lead after the right-hander left the game. Over his last two outings, Ashcraft has struck out 14 batters across 11.1 innings. His next start is tentatively scheduled for Wednesday's rematch with Miami.

Cavalli tossed five scoreless innings Wednesday against Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in his return to the mound from a finger injury. He allowed three hits and three walks while striking out three.

The right-hander wasn't dominant, but it was still a strong outing in his return from what was described by the Nationals as a "blister-like issue." Cavalli hasn't given up an earned run across three July starts for Triple-A Rochester, posting a 16:3 K:BB through 15.2 innings as he looks to regain some of the luster on his prospect status after a bumpy beginning to 2022. On the season, the 23-year-old carries a lackluster 4.03 ERA and 1.17 WHIP, but over his last eight starts dating back to May 28, Cavalli boasts a 1.90 ERA and 0.96 WHIP.

Davies faced live batters Tuesday at the Diamondbacks' spring training complex for the first time since suffering a shoulder injury and being placed on the injured list June 28, MLB.com reports.

Davies has had a succession of promising throwing sessions since July 19 and appears to be closing in on a return. His next outing has yet to be determined. It's unclear if the Diamondbacks intend to put him back in the rotation or continue experimenting with Tyler Gilbert and Corbin Martin.
