Clevinger didn't factor into the decision during Tuesday's 5-4 win over the Cubs, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks with six strikeouts in 4.1 innings.

Clevinger put multiple runners on base in every inning except the fourth, with the big blow coming on an Alfonso Rivas two-run shot in the third. That's now two starts surrendering three runs and going fewer than five innings to open 2022, as the 31-year-old has now allowed five runs on 10 hits and five walks with 10 strikeouts in nine innings. The one positive has been pitch count as Clevinger has exceeded 90 pitches in both outings and appears to be fully recovered from his knee injury. With San Diego employing a six-man rotation, Clevinger isn't scheduled to pitch again until next week against Philadelphia.

Wood (3-2) earned the win during Tuesday's 9-2 victory over Colorado, allowing one unearned run on seven hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 5.1 innings.

Wood put multiple Rockies on base in the first, fourth, fifth and sixth innings but was able to limit the damage to an unearned run in the fourth. Manager Gabe Kapler let the 31-year-old toss a season-high 104 pitches -- 15 more than his next highest total -- though Wood was only able to tie his season high in innings. He'll take a 3.60 ERA into his next start.

Senzatela (2-2) was handed the loss during Tuesday's 9-2 defeat at the hands of the Giants, allowing five runs on seven hits and two walks with one strikeout in 3.2 innings.

Senzatela loaded the bases with none out in the second inning before letting all three runners score, then surrendered four straight hits in the fourth to push two more runs across the plate. The 27-year-old has now gone fewer than five innings in his last two turns while recording only one strikeout in each of his last three. He'll most likely take the mound again for a rematch with San Francisco early next week.

Wright (3-2) pitched 4.2 innings, surrendering six runs on seven hits and four walks on his way to a loss against the Red Sox on Tuesday. He struck out four batters.

Wright imploded in the top of the second inning, giving up all six runs, capped off by a Rafael Devers grand slam, giving the Red Sox a 6-0 lead. The right-hander matched his season-high with four walks in what was ultimately his shortest outing of the 2022 campaign. After allowing just six total earned runs in his first five starts of the season, four of which were quality starts, the 26-year-old simply didn't have his best stuff Tuesday. Even with the tough outing, Wright still has a 3.03 ERA and 1.15 WHIP with 41 punchouts over 35.2 innings in six starts.

Falter will be recalled from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to start Wednesday against the Mariners, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

The Phillies are in need of rotation pieces with Zack Wheeler (undisclosed) and Zach Eflin (undisclosed) on the COVID-19 injured list, and Falter will receive the nod after being demoted two weeks ago. The 25-year-old began the season in Philadelphia's bullpen before joining the rotation at Lehigh Valley, so he's only stretched out to throw about 60-to-65 pitches.

DeGrom (shoulder) recently began a throwing program and is playing catch from 60 feet, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

The 33-year-old was transferred to the 60-day injured list Tuesday and is expected to be sidelined through the All-Star break, but it's still good news he's begun a throwing program after being shut down for over a month. There could be another update on deGrom's status next week since he's scheduled to undergo another MRI.

The Reds promoted Abbott from High-A Dayton to Double-A Chattanooga on Tuesday.

The 22-year-old lefty climbs a run on the minor-league ladder after he went 3-0 with a 0.67 ERA and 40:7 K:BB across 27 innings. Abbott profiles as a command specialist more so than a power pitcher, as he sports a fastball that tops out around the mid-90s.

Ashby isn't scheduled to start during the Brewers' upcoming three-game series in Miami this weekend and is expected to work out of the bullpen, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Milwaukee plays only six games this week, so the club will move back to a five-man rotation, leaving Ashby as the odd man out. Ashby faltered in his third start of the season Sunday in Atlanta, surrendering a season-high six earned runs on six hits and four walks while striking out three in four innings.

Manager Dave Roberts confirmed that Pepiot will be called up from Triple-A Oklahoma City to start Wednesday's game in Pittsburgh, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

The Dodgers will have to select Pepiot's contract and remove a player from the 40-man roster prior to Wednesday's contest to make the transaction official. Pepiot is being added to the rotation as a temporary sixth starter as a result of the team's doubleheader with the Cubs this past weekend. Los Angeles is likely to option Pepiot to Oklahoma City following Wednesday's outing, but he could rejoin the big club May 17 against the Diamondbacks, when the Dodgers are scheduled to play a doubleheader and will need to add a sixth starter to the mix once again. The 24-year-old right-hander earned the promotion to the majors after turning in a 2.05 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 36:12 K:BB across 26.1 innings at Oklahoma City this season.

Miley (elbow) was activated from the 10-day injured list and will start Tuesday in San Diego.

The veteran left-hander has been unavailable for the first month of 2022 while recovering from elbow inflammation, but he'll make his season debut Tuesday. Miley covered four scoreless frames during his lone rehab outing with Triple-A Iowa and figures to face some workload limitations in his first start of the campaign.
