Lodolo has been selected as the Reds' representative for the Futures Game on July 11, despite being on the IL at Double-A Chattanooga for the last three weeks with blisters on his pitching hand, Doug Gray of RedsMinorLeagues.com reports.

Lodolo has had a great campaign when he's been on the mound, but the blister issue has been persistent over the last month and a half. His naming to the Futures Game squad indicates that he could be back soon.

Freeland (hamstring) was spotted playing catch from about 120 feet Wednesday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.

After cruising through five scoreless innings Monday against the Pirates, Freeland's start ended early when he experienced cramping in his left hamstring. The fact that Freeland was able to throw two days later suggests the hamstring won't be much of a concern moving forward, so the lefty looks like he'll be ready to pitch by the time his next turn in the rotation comes up Saturday against the Cardinals. He'll likely throw a bullpen session Thursday before the Rockies sign off on him starting this weekend.

Fried (finger) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

Fried had been sidelined since June 19 due to a blister on his left index finger, but he's now fully healed and will start Wednesday's game against the Mets. The southpaw had alternated wins and losses in his six starts prior to his absence, and he posted a 2.78 ERA and 1.09 WHIP in 35.2 innings during that time. Left-hander Sean Newcomb was optioned to Triple-A Gwinnett in a corresponding move.

Buehler (8-1) earned the win Tuesday against the Giants after giving up an unearned run on three hits and a walk across 6.2 innings, striking out seven.

Buehler has tossed nine straight quality starts and continues to be one of the best pitchers in the National League, posting a 1.53 ERA, a 0.90 WHIP and a 54:19 K:BB during that nine-game span. The righty has also fanned at least six in three straight outings. He is slated to pitch again next week on the road against the Marlins.

Gausman (8-2) allowed three runs on three hits and five walks with four strikeouts across five innings, taking the loss versus the Dodgers on Tuesday.

The five walks were a season high for the right-hander, who also allowed more than two runs for just the second time all year. Gausman's four strikeouts matched a season low. The 30-year-old has had very few missteps in 2021 with a 1.68 ERA, 0.81 WHIP, 116:25 K:BB and just eight home runs allowed across 101.2 innings. He'll look to bounce back from this shaky outing next week versus St. Louis.

Ashby's contract was selected by the Brewers on Wednesday.

Ashby will make his major-league debut as the starter in Wednesday's matchup against the Cubs, but the Brewers plan to have a bullpen game in the series finale. The southpaw has served as a reliever recently and hasn't pitched more than two innings in nearly a month. Since moving to the bullpen with the Triple-A club, Ashby has posted an 8.71 ERA and 2.03 WHIP in 10.1 innings.

Eder has excelled in his first professional game action this season, posting a 1.13 ERA, 0.91 WHIP and 71:17 K:BB through 47.2 innings for Double-A Pensacola, Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald reports.

A fourth-round pick out of Vanderbilt in 2020, Eder showed flashes of a high ceiling in college but was also extremely inconsistent. The 22-year-old southpaw has worked hard to streamline his mechanics, however, and the results have been impressive. "All we needed to do, we felt, is clean up the timing out of his glove and then you would get more consistency," Marlins amateur scouting director DJ Svihlik said on a Zoom call this week. "And that's what you saw [minor-league pitching coordinator] Scott Aldred and his group with what they were able to do, and with Jake himself. The player is accountable here for what he wants his career to become. Jake happens to be a guy who is really highly motivated, always has been. So you take the talent that we saw, with his motivation, the creativity and the work by our player development staff and you get a player who is outperforming his draft position." Miami isn't going to rush him to the majors, so the best-case scenario might be a 2022 big-league debut, but Eder has put himself just behind Max Meyer in the team's pitching pipeline.

Woodruff (7-3) picked up the win Tuesday, giving up one run on four hits and three walks over six innings in a 2-1 victory over the Cubs. He struck out eight.

The right-hander fired 66 of 104 pitches for strikes en route to his 13th quality start in 16 trips to the mound. Woodruff has allowed more than two earned runs only twice all year, and he'll take a 1.87 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 119:27 K:BB through 101 innings into his next outing.

Davies (5-5) took the loss Tuesday, giving up two runs on two hits and three walks over four innings as the Cubs were downed 2-1 by the Brewers. He struck out six.

The right-hander needed 84 pitches (47 strikes) to record only 12 outs, and while Davies was once again tough to make solid contact against, the results weren't as impressive as his last time out when he helped no-hit the Dodgers. He'll take a 4.32 ERA, 1.43 WHIP and 55:44 K:BB through 83.1 innings into his next outing.

Martinez (4-9) earned the win over Arizona on Tuesday, allowing one run on four hits and two walks while striking out six over six innings.

The veteran right-hander entered the contest mired in a five-start losing streak, during which he posted a 13.73 ERA, 2.44 WHIP and 7.8 BB/9 across 19.2 innings. A matchup against Arizona -- which currently holds the worst record in baseball -- proved to be at least a temporary remedy, as Martinez collected his first victory since May 8 while notching his seventh quality start of the season. He will try to carry the momentum into his next outing, which is tentatively scheduled to take place at Colorado on Sunday.
