  • Rob Kaminsky RP | STL

Cardinals' Rob Kaminsky: Passes through waivers

The Cardinals outrighted Kaminsky to their alternate training site over the weekend after he went unclaimed off waivers, Jeff Jones of the Belleville News-Democrat reports.

The organization is shutting down workouts at its alternate site for the remainder of the season, so unless Kaminsky receives an invite to the Cardinals' taxi squad, his 2020 campaign is over. The 2013 first-round pick will remain in the organization through the conclusion of the season before becoming a minor-league free agent this winter.

  • Huascar Ynoa SP | LAA

Braves' Huascar Ynoa: Cleared to start Monday

Ynoa (back) is slated to start Monday's game against the Marlins.

Ynoa stepped back into the rotation in his last appearance Sept. 15 in Baltimore, striking out five over four shutout innings before departing with lower-back tightness. The five days of rest were apparently all Ynoa needed to overcome the issue, but the Braves likely won't ask him to cover more than five innings in Monday's outing anyway. If Ynoa shows well versus the Marlins, he would likely pick up a second start versus the Red Sox over the weekend.

  • Rockies' Antonio Senzatela: Improves to 5-2

Senzatela (5-2) picked up the win Sunday against the Dodgers, allowing one run on three hits and two walks across 6.1 innings. He struck out three.

After allowing just one run in a complete game against Oakland in his last start, Senzatela was able to stymie yet another division leader Sunday. Though he fanned just three, the right-hander was able to keep Los Angeles off the board through six innings. He recorded an out to start the seventh, but he was pulled after allowing consecutive one-out walks. The 25-year-old was charged with a run when Yency Almonte allowed an RBI single to Edwin Rios. Sentazela will take a solid 3.13 ERA into his start against Arizona on Friday.

  • Dodgers' Tony Gonsolin: Fans 10 but takes loss

Gonsolin (1-2) was tagged with the loss Sunday against the Rockies, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk across five innings. He struck out 10.

Gonsolin appeared to be on his way to a dominant outing after striking out each of the first six Rockies he faced. The right-hander ran into trouble in the fourth, however, allowing two runs on three hits and a walk. He bounced back to finish the start with a three up, three down fifth. Despite falling to 1-2, Gonsolin has been a pleasant surprise for the Dodgers this season, posting an impressive 1.77 ERA and 40:7 K:BB across 40.2 innings. He's slated to make his final regular-season start Saturday against the Angels.

  • Joe Musgrove SP | SD

Pirates' Joe Musgrove: Punches out 11 in no-decision

Musgrove tossed six scoreless innings in Sunday's loss to the Cardinals, allowing three hits and a walk while striking out 11. He did not factor in the decision.

The outing was by far Musgrove's best of the season. His 11 strikeouts brought his K:BB to 45:15 and the six scoreless frames lowered his ERA to 4.68 on the campaign. He was in line to pick up his first win when he exited with the Pirates leading 1-0 but had to settle for a no-decision after Yadier Molina's homer off Derek Holland gave St. Louis the lead. The 27-year-old will have one more chance to get a victory when he toes the rubber Saturday in Cleveland.

  • Jack Flaherty SP | DET

Cardinals' Jack Flaherty: Fans 11 in win

Flaherty picked up the win Sunday against the Pirates, allowing one run on two hits and two walks across six innings. He struck out 11.

Flaherty was coming off his worst outing of the season, in which he allowed nine runs in just three innings pitched against the Brewers on Sep. 15. The right-hander was able to bounce back in a big way Sunday, tallying a season-high 11 punchouts while allowing just four baserunners. The 24-year-old has a 44:12 K:BB to go along with a 4.84 ERA on the campaign and will look to finish the regular season on a high note when he takes the ball Friday against Milwaukee.

  • Kyle Wright SP | CHC

Braves' Kyle Wright: Sharp against Mets

Wright (2-4) fired 6.1 scoreless innings Sunday as he earned the win against the Mets. He allowed one hit and one walk while striking out six.

Wright failed to earn a win in any of his first five starts of the season, but he's now been rewarded with wins in each of his past two outings. Wright put forth his longest start of the year as he allowed only two baserunners against New York. The right-hander should make his final start of the regular season at home Saturday against the Red Sox.

  • Marlins' Braxton Garrett: Ugly outing in second career start

Garrett (1-1) was charged with five runs (four earned) on five hits over 2.2 innings in a loss to the Nationals in the second game of Sunday's doubleheader. He struck out two and walked three.

Trea Turner and Kurt Suzuki touched Garrett up for homers early, and the Nationals piled on for 10 additional runs against the bullpen. Garrett, the seventh overall pick in the 2016 draft, was much better in his debut Sept. 13, allowing one run while fanning six over five innings in a win over Philadelphia. Garrett was the designated 29th man for the doubleheader, so he is almost certainly headed back to the alternate site in exchange for a fresh arm, though the transaction has not yet been made official.

  • Yu Darvish SP | SD

Cubs' Yu Darvish: Allows four runs in loss

Darvish (7-3) allowed four earned runs on nine hits across six innings to take the loss Sunday against the Twins. He struck out nine and walked one.

Darvish had allowed only two runs when he came out for the seventh inning, but he quickly gave up a double followed by a two-run home run to Max Kepler to get chased from the game. The righty hasn't been sharp lately, as he's now allowed nine hits in each of his last two outings. Darvish is still squarely in the Cy Young race, though his recent performance could be hurting his chances in a crowded field. He'll take a 2.22 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 88:13 K:BB across 69 innings into his final start of the regular season, which is scheduled for Friday against the White Sox.

  • Marlins' Sandy Alcantara: Beats Scherzer for third win

Alcantara (3-2) allowed one run on five hits and two walks over six innings in a win over the Nationals in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader. He struck out six.

Alcantara got the better of Max Scherzer in the low-scoring affair to get his record back over .500 for the season. Since his five-run blowup in his return from the COVID-19 IL, Alcantara has been excellent, posting a 2.25 ERA and 23:9 K:BB over his last four starts (24 innings). He will be put to the test next weekend in a road matchup against the Yankees to close out his regular season.
