Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Saddled with second loss
Hendricks (3-2) took the loss in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against the Cardinals after allowing three runs on three hits and a walk while striking out five over 6.1 innings.
Hendricks surrendered a solo blast in the third inning, and he was touched up for two more runs in the top of the seventh following a Brad Miller double with the bases loaded. Rowan Wick gave up the double, but Hendricks was responsible for the two runs that crossed the plate. The veteran right-hander sits with a 3.31 ERA and 0.92 WHIP with a 25:3 K:BB across 32.2 frames.

Kwang Hyun Kim SP | STL
Cardinals' Kwang-Hyun Kim: Surrenders one in first start
Kim allowed one run on three hits and three walks while striking out one over 3.2 innings during Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader against the Cubs. He didn't factor into the decision.
Despite plenty of traffic on the basepaths, Kim made it through the first three innings unscathed before giving up a solo home run to Ian Happ in the bottom of the fourth inning. The Cardinals would ultimately take the first game of the doubleheader, 3-1. Kim will continue to be an option for starts moving forward, though his role certainly isn't set in stone at this time.

Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Mets' Jacob deGrom: Slated to pitch Wednesday
DeGrom (neck) will pitch Wednesday against the Marlins, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
DeGrom threw a bullpen session Monday and felt good afterward, so he'll be able to return to the mound after missing just one start. The right-hander was scratched from his scheduled start Friday with neck stiffness, but he's thrown three times since then and hasn't faced any setbacks. It's unclear whether he'll have a workload restriction during his return.

David Peterson SP | CHC
Mets' David Peterson: Good to go for start
Peterson (shoulder) is ready to make his scheduled start Tuesday against the Marlins, Tim Healey of Newsday reports.
Peterson's last start was cut short due to shoulder soreness, but he didn't sound too concerned about the issue. The southpaw threw a side session Sunday and apparently felt healthy enough afterward to make his scheduled start Tuesday. As long as he remains healthy, he should be locked into a rotation spot going forward.

Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Resumes baseball activities
Martinez (undisclosed) was cleared to resume baseball activities Monday, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.
Martinez was placed on the 10-day injured list Aug. 4 for an undisclosed reason, but Mark Saxon of The Athletic relayed Monday that the right-hander was among the slew of Cardinals players who tested positive for the coronavirus. Now that he's completed a quarantine and is testing negative for COVID-19, Martinez will now begin ramping up at the Cardinals' alternate training site. It's unclear what shape the right-hander is in, and the length of his throwing program before returning to the rotation hasn't been determined yet.

Chris Paddack RP | TEX
Padres' Chris Paddack: Start pushed back
Paddack's next scheduled start has been pushed back to Wednesday against the Rangers in San Diego, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.
The Padres didn't provide a reason for pushing Paddack and Dinelson Lamet back one day in the rotation, but the most likely reason is simply to give the pair an extra day of rest. The team hasn't announced who will step in to start Tuesday. Paddack will attempt to bounce back from a rough outing during his last turn through the rotation.

Jake Woodford RP | TB
Cardinals' Jake Woodford: Serving as 29th man
Woodford was named the 29th man for Monday's doubleheader against the Cubs.
Woodford was optioned by the Cardinals on Sunday, but he'll remain with the major-league roster for the twin bill against the Cubs. He should remain on the taxi squad after Monday's pair of games so he can be available for the Cardinals on short notice.

Trevor Williams RP | TEX
Pirates' Trevor Williams: Next start against Cleveland
Williams is slated to start against the Indians on Thursday, DK Pittsburgh Sports reports.
He's increased his strikeout rate year-over-year from 7.0 K/9 to 8.0 K/9, but his xFIP of 4.99 shows he's outperformed his current 3.98 ERA. Williams' four-seam fastball velocity has dipped slightly to 91.8 mph, but the cerebral righty is throwing breaking pitches nearly 50 percent of the time, including a curve ball (5.2 percent) that's added a new wrinkle to his repertoire. Thursday will mark just his second start at PNC Park in five outings, where he holds a career 3.79 ERA (as compared to a 4.68 ERA on the road).

Robbie Ray SP | SD
Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Walks six in no-decision
Ray allowed one run on six walks across five innings Sunday, striking out four in the win over San Diego. He did not factor in the decision.
Ray was lifted from the game after throwing just 45 of 95 pitches for strikes despite holding the Padres without a hit. Through 22 innings this season, the 28-year-old lefty owns a brutal 27:20 K:BB. He'll carry an 8.59 ERA into Friday's start in San Francisco.

Logan Webb SP | SF
Giants' Logan Webb: Walks five in shaky outing
Webb (1-2) allowed three runs on three hits and five walks over 4.1 innings Sunday, striking out five and taking the loss against Oakland.
Webb threw just 50-of-88 pitches for strikes Sunday as his control was never really there. Fortunately for him, he was lifted from the game before Oakland's offense caught fire with a nine-run fifth inning. The right-handed rookie will carry a 3.54 ERA into Friday's home matchup with Arizona.
