Jose Quintana SP | COL
Cubs' Jose Quintana: Shuts down Dodgers
Quintana (3-1) allowed just two runs over seven innings to pick up the win Tuesday against the Dodgers. He gave up four hits and two walks while striking out seven.
Quintana kept Los Angeles off the board in the top of the first, then watched his offensive mates score four times in the bottom of the inning. The early breathing room seemed to allow the lefty to settle into a nice groove, and he rolled to his third straight win. Over those three starts, Quintana has allowed just two earned runs across 21 innings while striking out 25. The 30-year-old will look to stay hot in his next start, which is currently scheduled to come Sunday against the Diamondbacks.

Pablo Lopez SP | MIN
Marlins' Pablo Lopez: Allows one unearned run
Lopez (2-3) earned the win against the Indians on Tuesday by giving up one unearned run on two hits over 6.1 innings. He struck out six and walked two.
Lopez didn't allow a hit through the first six innings but ran into a bit of trouble in the seventh as the Indians scratched across a run with two hits and an error. The 23-year-old has a 4.44 ERA, 1.18 WHIP and 29:5 K:BB over 26.1 innings and lines up to pitch Sunday at Philadelphia.

Rich Hill SP | KC
Dodgers' Rich Hill: Season debut coming Sunday
Hill (knee) will be activated off the injured list to start Sunday against the Pirates, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
A knee strain has kept Hill out since the start of the season, but he's been making steady progress in his rehab and is now ready to go. Ross Stripling is expected to head to the bullpen to open up a rotation spot.

Freddy Peralta SP | TB
Brewers' Freddy Peralta: Nearing return
Peralta (shoulder) could return to the rotation next week against the Rockies, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Peralta tossed a 15-pitch light bullpen Monday without any setbacks. The 22-year-old will throw a full bullpen Wednesday in St. Louis and could return to the rotation on the next homestand if all goes well.

Reds' Anthony DeSclafani: Outing pushed back to Friday
DeSclafani will start Friday's game against the Cardinals, C. Trent Rosecrans of The Athletic reports.

Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Will pitch in relief upon return
Martinez (shoulder) will pitch out of the bullpen when he's activated from the injured list, Mark Saxon of The Athletic reports.
Martinez is scheduled to throw live batting practice later in the week, although manager Mike Shildt has already determined that the 27-year-old will head to the bullpen when he's ready to return. Martinez bounced between the starting rotation and the bullpen during the 2018 campaign, posting a 3.11 ERA with 117 strikeouts over 118.2 frames.

Kyle Freeland SP | COL
Rockies' Kyle Freeland: Set for bullpen sessions
Freeland (blister) will throw bullpen sessions Wednesday and Friday, Thomas Harding of MLB.com reports.
Freeland is on the 10-day injured list with a blister on his left middle finger, but said Monday he only expects to miss one start. The fact that he's ready to test out the finger in the bullpen is a good sign that it's a short-term issue, and he should only need to miss one turn in the rotation. The left-hander was excellent in his last start, shutting out the Phillies over six innings before exiting with the blister.

Adrian Houser SP | SF
Brewers' Adrian Houser: Sent back to Triple-A
Houser was optioned to Triple-A San Antonio on Tuesday.
Following a disappointing first start in the big leagues (five earned runs over four innings), Houser will return to the minors. In a corresponding move, Tyler Saladino was recalled from the Missions.

Austin Gomber SP | TEX
Cardinals' Austin Gomber: Earns PCL honors
Gomber was named the Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the Week on Monday, Joe Harris of MLB.com reports.
The promising southpaw fired seven scoreless innings in a win over Round Rock on Saturday, allowing three hits and a walk while recording six strikeouts. Gomber is 2-0 with a 3.22 ERA and .215 BAA over 22.1 innings overall with the Redbirds, and he's a candidate for promotion at some point during the season after posting 6-2 record and 4.44 ERA in 11 major-league starts in 2018.
