P.J. Conlon SP | NYM
Mets' P.J. Conlon: Sent back to Triple-A
Conlon was optioned to Triple-A Las Vegas on Tuesday, Matt Ehalt of The Bergen Record reports.
Conlon was shipped back to the minors after allowing four runs on eight hits across just two innings in a spot start in Game 2 of Monday's doubleheader against the Braves. The 24-year-old will rejoin the 51s' rotation, where he owns an unsightly 6.58 ERA across eight starts (39.2 innings) this season.

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Could return when first eligible
Syndergaard (finger) could return from the 10-day disabled list when first eligible, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.
Syndergaard landed on the disabled list Tuesday with a strained ligament in his right index finger, but his stay on the shelf could be an abbreviated one. It sounds like the 25-year-old could have continued to pitch through the issue; however, the Mets opted to play it safe with their ace and give him some time to rest and recover. Syndergaard is expected to wear a splint for a little while before attempting to throw a bullpen session over the weekend; if all goes well during the bullpen, he could rejoin the rotation against the Orioles on June 5, the first day he's eligible to return. That said, the Mets will proceed cautiously with the right-hander given his importance to the team.

Max Fried SP | NYY
Braves' Max Fried: Heads to Triple-A
Fried was sent down to Triple-A Gwinnett on Tuesday, David O'Brien of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Fried was returned to the minors after serving as the 26th man for Monday's doubleheader against the Mets. He's been a serviceable arm at the big-league level through five appearances this season, sporting a 4.09 ERA with 13 strikeouts across 11 innings.

Noah Syndergaard SP | CLE
Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Heads to DL with strained finger
Syndergaard was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday with a strained ligament in his right index finger.
This comes as a bit of a surprise, as the Mets' ace reported no issues following his quality outing against the Brewers on Friday. Syndergaard was apparently feeling some soreness in his finger following his between-starts bullpen session, however, and a subsequent MRI confirmed the injury to be serious enough to warrant a stay on the shelf. The move is retroactive to May 26, so the 25-year-old will be eligible to return June 5 if he's healthy enough to do so. It's unclear who will take Syndergaard's turn in the rotation at this point.

Robbie Ray SP | SD
Diamondbacks' Robbie Ray: Could throw off mound Thursday
Ray (oblique) is scheduled to undergo a follow-up MRI on Tuesday, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.
If the MRI reveals that Ray's Grade 2 right oblique strain is healing as anticipated, the lefty will likely be cleared to throw a bullpen session Thursday after being limited to flat-ground tossing thus far in his rehab. Diamondbacks general manager Mike Hazen recently stated that he doesn't anticipate Ray to be ready to come off the 10-day disabled list until mid-June, so Matt Koch and Clay Buchholz should both be in store for a couple more turns through the rotation while Arizona waits for the southpaw to return to full health.

P.J. Conlon SP | NYM
Mets' P.J. Conlon: Takes no-decision despite clunker in spot start
Conlon allowed four runs on eight hits and struck out a batter over just two innings in a no-decision Monday against Atlanta.
Luckily for Conlon, the Mets were able to stage a comeback, but he had nothing to fool Atlanta's lineup. He was touched up for a pair of doubles and a home run among the eight hits and managed just 28 strikes on 46 pitches. Conlon was only forced to take the start after the Mets needed Seth Lugo for 1.1 innings in Game 1 of Monday's doubleheader; it's unclear if Conlon will return to New York's bullpen or get the boot to Triple-A Las Vegas after this stinker.

Eric Lauer SP | LAD
Padres' Eric Lauer: Takes beating against Marlins
Lauer (1-3) was hammered for five runs on seven hits and two walks with three strikeouts over 2.1 innings as he took the loss Monday against the Marlins.
Lauer has failed to complete the fifth inning in three of his last four starts and has made just two quality starts in seven chances this season. He induced just three swinging strikes in 63 pitches and gave up three doubles among his seven hits. Joey Lucchesi is still dealing with a hip strain, but at this rate, Lauer has to be on the hot seat once Lucchesi is ready to return from the DL.

Vince Velasquez RP | KC
Phillies' Vince Velasquez: Strikes out six in no-decision
Velasquez allowed two runs on three hits and two walks across 5.2 innings in a no-decision Monday against the Dodgers. He struck out six.
Velasquez was outstanding in the early going, taking a no-hitter into the sixth inning. He ran into trouble at that point, however, allowing two runs on three hits before his removal. He was still in contention for a win, but the bullpen collapsed later on to lose the lead. All in all it was a solid outing for Velasquez, who's now allowed three runs or fewer in five straight starts. He'll take a respectable 4.08 ERA into his next scheduled start this weekend against the Giants.

Jacob deGrom SP | TEX
Mets' Jacob deGrom: Turns in quality start
DeGrom didn't factor into the decision in the first game of Monday's double-header despite allowing just one run on five hits and three walks while striking out eight across seven innings against the Braves.
DeGrom allowed his only run on a solo blast to Tyler Flowers in the bottom of the seventh, and he departed the game with a 2-1 lead that the Mets' bullpen would later squander. He certainly pitched well enough to get the win, but even so, he owns a 4-0 record with a stellar 1.52 ERA across 11 starts this season. DeGrom will look for more run support in his next outing, which is likely to come Saturday against the Cubs.

Max Fried SP | NYY
Braves' Max Fried: Tosses five solid innings
Fried allowed two runs (one earned) on four hits and four walks while striking out six through five innings as he didn't factor into the decision Monday in the first game of the doubleheader against the Mets.
Fried found himself in a pickle early in the first inning after hitting the first batter of the game, followed by a defensive error. He would walk in a run before escaping the jam. The 24-year-old did manage to settle down, as he tossed five innings before exiting. Fried was called up from Triple-A Gwinnett to make Monday's spot start, and it's unclear whether he'll stay in the big leagues. With Mike Soroka (shoulder) on the disabled list, Atlanta will likely require a fifth starter for Sunday's game against Washington, so Fried would certainly be an option.
