Ross Stripling SP | KC
Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Recalled from OKC
Stripling was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.
Stripling received the promotion on the heels of Hyun-Jin Ryu's placement on the 10-day disabled list with a left foot contusion. Stripling, who held a 4.03 ERA over 38 innings with the Dodgers before being optioned in late June, will return to his role as a low-leverage, long-relief bullpen arm for the big-league club.

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR
Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Officially placed on DL
Ryu was officially placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday with a left foot contusion.
As was previously reported, Ryu received X-rays on his injured foot Tuesday that confirmed no structural damage, but the Dodgers will remain cautious with the 30-year-old and send him to the disabled list to give him ample time to heal. He's eligible to come off the disabled list June 9, but it's likely that the team will hold him out through the All-Star break to buy him a few extra days of rest. Ross Stripling was recalled from Triple-A Oklahoma City in a corresponding move.

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR
Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: X-rays negative, still heading to DL
Ryu (foot) will be placed on the 10-day disabled list, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
The good news is that secondary X-rays on Ryu's foot came back negative, confirming the southpaw isn't dealing with any structural damage. The injury is still apparently serious enough to warrant a trip to the disabled list, however, ultimately sidelining him until after the All-Star break. An official roster move, along with an updated timetable for his return, should be available Wednesday.

Seth Lugo SP | KC
Mets' Seth Lugo: Surrenders six runs in Independence Day loss
Lugo (3-2) gave up six runs on 10 hits and a pair of walks over five innings Tuesday, suffering a loss at the hands of the Nationals.
Pitching in the nation's capital on Independence Day, the Louisiana native wasn't able to continue the decent success he experienced in his first four starts of 2017, though he had a solid outing going until the Nats got to him for a four-run rally in the sixth inning. Fantasy owners should continue to view Lugo as a reasonable pitcher who's streamable in the right matchups, but he's probably not a roster regular in most leagues. He won't make his next start until after the All-Star break.

Tyler Anderson SP | LAA
Rockies' Tyler Anderson: Has surgery Monday
Anderson (knee) underwent arthroscopic surgery Monday in Denver, Patrick Saunders of The Denver Post reports.
Anderson was initially set to have the procedure Friday, but ended up delaying it a couple days for unknown reasons. The surgery, which was intended to address the inflammation that Anderson was experiencing in his left knee, is expected to keep him sidelined for at least a month.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Completes bullpen Tuesday
Hendricks (hand) threw his first bullpen session Tuesday since landing on the DL, Gordon Wittenmyer of the Chicago Sun-Times reports.
Hendricks was able to toss 25 pitches with no issues during the session. He's expected to throw another session in the coming days, after which there could be a clearer timetable for his pending rehab assignment.

Luis Castillo SP | CHW
Reds' Luis Castillo: Strikes out eight in loss
Castillo (0-1) struck out eight Monday, but allowed four runs on nine hits and a walk over 5.2 innings in a loss against Colorado.
Castillo continues to show exceptionally nasty stuff. He induced 17 swinging strikes on 111 pitches and now has 22 strikeouts in just 16.1 major league innings. He has been too wild to go deep in games, however -- even though he walked just one batter Monday, he threw only 10 first-pitch strikes to 27 hitters, which contributed to the whopping nine hits he allowed. But Castillo is young, and if he can tighten up his control, his already electric arsenal will prove all the more effective.

Adam Wainwright SP | STL
Cardinals' Adam Wainwright: Run support paves way to ninth win
Wainwright (9-5) allowed six runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out eight batters through five innings during Monday's win over Miami.
St. Louis scored four runs in the first inning and then seven more in the third frame, so Wainwright was in cruise control early on. However, the veteran surrendered six runs in the top of the fifth frame and didn't return for the sixth. Despite picking up the win and fanning eight batters, it wasn't an encouraging outing. Wainwright takes a 5.48 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and 8.2 K/9 into his next start against the Mets at Busch Stadium.

Stephen Strasburg SP | WAS
Nationals' Stephen Strasburg: Shuts down Mets after shaking off back issue
Strasburg threw seven scoreless innings in a no-decision Monday against the Mets, allowing two hits and three walks with six strikeouts.
Though he was nagged by a back issue prior to the start, Strasburg was in fine form and only allowed a pair of singles in addition to the three free passes. He worked up to 105 pitches, throwing 69 percent for strikes, and did not display any ill effects from the aforementioned malady. Strasburg has now thrown back-to-back quality starts with a 19:4 K:BB after struggling for much of the month of June, and he will take a shiny 3.28 ERA into Saturday's start against the Braves.

Steven Matz RP | TB
Mets' Steven Matz: Seven scoreless innings in no-decision Monday
Matz threw seven scoreless innings in a no-decision Monday against the Nationals, allowing four hits and two walks with four strikeouts.
Matz pitched to contact effectively in this one, allowing just three men past first base as he shut down one of baseball's most potent lineups. He notably worked up to 112 pitches in this one -- his highest pitch count of the year -- and seems to be at full capacity after missing the first two months of the season with elbow issues. Matz now earns a sterling 2.12 ERA through 34 innings in 2017 and will look to continue his fine form Sunday against the Cardinals.
