Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT
Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Will throw bullpen session Wednesday
Eickhoff (back) will throw a bullpen session Wednesday, Josh Horton of MLB.com reports.
Eickhoff is missing his start Wednesday as he recovers from an upper-back strain. The Phillies will decide on the next step for the righty after he throws his bullpen session. He may be able to skip a rehab start and return to the rotation on July 4.

Aaron Nola SP | PHI
Phillies' Aaron Nola: Evens record with nine-strikeout performance
Nola (5-5) gave up two runs on five hits and four walks while striking out nine over seven innings in Tuesday's win over the Mariners.
He set a new season high in strikeouts, which helped mitigate the damage from the four free passes. Nola finishes the month of June with a 35:11 in 33:1 innings, and he's completed at least six innings in four of his last five starts. The 24-year-old seems to have turned the page on the back issue that put him on the DL earlier in the season.

Kenta Maeda SP | NYY
Dodgers' Kenta Maeda: Throws seven scoreless in win
Maeda (6-3) scattered four hits over seven scoreless innings in Tuesday's win over the Angels. He struck out six and did not walk a batter.
The right-hander faced an Angels lineup that was without Albert Pujols and Cameron Maybin in addition to Mike Trout (thumb), but that doesn't mean this performance was just a flash in the pan. Maeda has been on a roll for weeks, shaving a full run off his ERA over his last four appearances (two earned runs over 17 innings in that span) while jumping between the bullpen and rotation. He has given up three home runs over the past two months after serving up seven in April. If he keeps going like this, Maeda should continue to see regular starts even after Brandon McCarthy (knee) returns.

Taijuan Walker SP | LAA
Diamondbacks' Taijuan Walker: Struggles with command Tuesday
Walker (6-3) allowed five runs (three earned) on six hits and five walks over 6.1 innings during Tuesday's game against the Cardinals. He did not record a single strikeout nor did he factor into the decision.
Walker continues to struggle with his control, as the 24-year-old has now walked nine batters over his past two starts. To add insult to injury, Walker went without a strikeout for the first time since a blowup outing on Aug. 6 of last season. Though his ERA still sits at a respectable 3.50, his recent form hasn't exactly left his fantasy owners feeling overly confident with the young hurler. Walker is set for another tough test as he's scheduled to face the Rockies in his upcoming start Sunday.

Carlos Martinez SP | SF
Cardinals' Carlos Martinez: Strikes out 10 in no-decision Tuesday
Martinez (6-6) allowed two runs on four hits and three walks while striking out 10 over six innings during Tuesday's no-decision against the Diamondbacks.
Martinez's stellar season continued Tuesday, as the young righty has now posted quality starts in 11 of his past 12 outings. The 25-year-old has also struck out 10 or more batters in four of his 16 starts this season, which is already two more than the number of double-digit strikeout games that he posted all of last season. Martinez will carry his 2.88 ERA into his upcoming start against the Nationals on Sunday.

Trevor Williams RP | TEX
Pirates' Trevor Williams: Tosses quality start in no-decision Tuesday
Williams allowed two runs on six hits with no walks in Tuesday's no-decision against the Rays. He struck out seven.
Williams, who limited baserunners quite effectively in this one, gave up an RBI groundout in the fourth and was scored upon again after the first two men reached as he tried to extend into the eighth. He was on the hook for a loss despite the quality start, but a late push from his offense bailed him out in that regard. After being battered for much of the early part of the season, Williams seems to be coming into his own at the big-league level and has now tossed consecutive quality starts for the second time in 2017. He still holds a hefty 4.82 ERA, but an enticing matchup with the Giants awaits the 25-year-old on Sunday.

Tyler Anderson SP | LAA
Rockies' Tyler Anderson: To undergo knee surgery
Anderson will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his injured left knee this week, Jared Diamond of The Wall Street Journal reports.
Anderson's left knee inflammation sparked up again in his first start back from the disabled list Sunday, forcing the Rockies to place the 27-year-old back on the 10-day DL. They're now deeming the injury serious enough to warrant surgery, so the left-hander will go under the knife this week and reportedly be sidelined for at least the next four weeks.

Julio Urias SP | LAD
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Out 12-to-14 months after shoulder surgery
Urias underwent successful left anterior capsule surgery Tuesday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Urias will be out of commission for the foreseeable future, as his current recovery timeline is set for 12-to-14 months, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports. The electric pitcher will have his sights set on returning to live action sometime during the 2018 season.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Throws again Tuesday
Hendricks (hand) said he felt good after throwing out to 90 feet Monday, Mark Gonzales of the Chicago Tribune reports.
Hendricks continues to slowly work his way back from tendinitis in his hand. He'll need to get three or four more throwing sessions out to 150 feet under his belt before he is able to progress to throwing a bullpen session, after which there should be a clearer timetable for his return.

Zack Wheeler SP | PHI
Mets' Zack Wheeler: Scheduled for another bullpen
Manager Terry Collins said Wheeler (biceps) is scheduled to throw another bullpen session and is not yet slotted back into the rotation, James Wagner of The New York Times reports.
While the original hope was that Wheeler would only have to miss one start while on the DL, it's starting to look like he may need a little more time. If all goes well with his next bullpen, there may be a clearer idea of when he'll slot back into the big-league rotation.
