Tyler Kolek SP | MIA
Marlins' Tyler Kolek: Nearing return to mound
Kolek (elbow) has been on a throwing program in extended spring training and is expected to return to game action by the end of the month, Tim Healey of the Sun-Sentinel reports.
Marlins president Michael Hill suggested Tuesday that Kolek has used his rehab from Tommy John surgery to smooth out his delivery, something crucial to the right-hander's development after he walked 61 batters over 108.2 innings in 2015 for Low-A Greensboro before being sidelined. The Marlins' No. 8 prospect is a long way from the majors, but he could emerge as one of the organization's top future assets if he looks good in the second half this season.

Luis Castillo SP | CHW
Reds' Luis Castillo: Will make big-league debut Friday
Castillo will be recalled from Double-A Pensacola on Friday to start for the Reds later that evening against the Nationals, Mark Sheldon of MLB.com reports.
After the Reds designated Asher Wojciechowski for assignment Sunday, it was expected the organization would go with one of its more experienced arms at Triple-A Louisville to fill the void in the rotation, but it will instead be the 24-year-old Castillo who gets the call. While Castillo, one of the Reds' top pitching prospects, has been electric for Pensacola this season, compiling a 2.58 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 81:13 K:BB over 80.1 innings, it may be unwise to expect quality results from him as he makes his major-league debut against one of baseball's top offenses. Even if Castillo is able to steer clear of an implosion, he may only receive one more start beyond Friday's, as Brandon Finnegan (shoulder) will make a third rehab start at Triple-A on Wednesday and could be ready to come off the 60-day disabled list by the end of June or early July.

Zach Davies SP | WAS
Brewers' Zach Davies: Knocked around by Pirates
Davies (7-4) gave up seven runs on 10 hits -- including a pair of homers -- in Tuesday's loss to the Pirates. He struck out four, walked one and hit a batter.
A mediocre starter at best and a disaster at worst, Davies belongs on only the most desperate fantasy owners' rosters. The 24-year-old righty has seen his strikeouts decline while his walks and homers have increased, and that's resulted in only three quality starts among his 15 outings this year. He'll next draw the Braves on Sunday.

Julio Teheran SP | BAL
Braves' Julio Teheran: Falls apart late against Giants
Teheran (6-5) went 7.1 innings in Tuesday's loss to the Giants, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits. He struck out two and didn't walk anyone.
Teheran was absolutely cruising through the Giants' lineup through the game's first seven innings, but things quickly fell apart in the eighth. An infield single and an error got the inning started, and then Teheran made his one mistake: a three-run homer by Austin Slater. Another infield single ended up being the fourth run on his line after he departed. This one's got to be a bit frustrating for Teheran owners because it was going so well before he ran into some tough luck and made a bad pitch at a bad time, but he's still turned in three straight quality starts.

Zack Greinke SP | KC
Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke: Falters late in loss to Rockies
Greinke (8-4) allowed four runs on nine hits while striking out seven over 7.1 innings during Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Rockies. He did not issue a walk.
Aside from the mistake pitch that Carlos Gonzalez hammered for a home run in the fourth inning, Greinke was mostly effective against the Rockies through the first seven frames Tuesday. Manager Torey Lovullo sent his ace back out to the mound with a 3-2 lead in the eighth, but Greinke was quickly pulled from the game after allowing back-to-back singles to Charlie Blackmon and DJ LeMahieu before Nolan Arenado roped a go-ahead two-run double off the right field wall. Greinke will look to rebound during his next scheduled start against the Phillies on Sunday.

German Marquez SP | SD
Rockies' German Marquez: Tosses six strong innings in no-decision
Marquez (5-3) allowed one run on four hits and two walks over six innings during Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Diamondbacks. He struck out three and received a no-decision.
Marquez put together a strong outing in this tough division matchup against the Diamondbacks at Coors Field. The young righty ran into jams in the fourth and sixth innings, but was able to work around multiple baserunners to limit the Diamondbacks to just one run across both frames. The most encouraging aspect of his start may be the fact that Marquez was able to get through six innings of work for the first time since May 23 against the Phillies. He'll face another tough matchup in his upcoming scheduled start against the Dodgers on Sunday.

Brandon Finnegan SP | CHW
Reds' Brandon Finnegan: Set for Triple-A rehab outing Wednesday
Finnegan (shoulder) is scheduled to make a minor-league rehab start with Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday.
Wednesday's start would mark Finnegan's third minor-league rehab appearance this season. The lefty had tossed seven total scoreless innings in his first two rehab starts with Double-A Pensacola. Barring any setbacks, Finnegan could rejoin the Reds' rotation in the next couple of weeks.

Tyler Pill SP | LAD
Mets' Tyler Pill: Will start Wednesday
Updating an earlier report, Pill was confirmed as the starter for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.
With Rafael Montero unavailable to pitch after being used in long relief Monday night, Pill will be recalled from Triple-A ahead of Wednesday's contest. He posted a 3.48 ERA and 8:3 K:BB in two big-league starts (10.1 innings) earlier in the year. It will be a tough matchup for the 27-year-old, as the Dodgers own a .330 wOBA against righties this season, the seventh-best mark in the league.

Joey Wentz SP | ATL
Braves' Joey Wentz: Missing bats at Low-A
Wentz, 19, has a 3.30 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 64:20 K:BB in 60 innings for Low-A Rome.
His command/control could still use plenty of refinement, but his pure stuff is excellent. At 6-foot-5, 210 pounds, the athletic southpaw boasts most of the physical advantages that one typically looks for in a high-end pitching prospect in the lower levels. His upside rivals that of any of the Braves' high-end pitching prospects.

Jerad Eickhoff SP | PIT
Phillies' Jerad Eickhoff: Lands on DL
Eickhoff was placed on the 10-day disabled list with an upper back strain, Matt Gelb of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
It's unclear when Eickhoff sustained the injury, as he is coming off one of his better starts of the year; a six-inning outing of one-run ball against the Diamondbacks. While the Phillies are hoping it will be a short stay on the DL, he'll be forced to miss at least one turn in the rotation. His replacement is expected to be called up from Triple-A sometime before the contest, with Mark Leiter and Mark Appel both possible options. Eickhoff owns a 4.81 ERA and 65:30 K:BB through 76.2 innings (14 starts) this season.
