Zack Greinke SP | KC
Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke: Takes loss in complete-game performance
Greinke (1-2) allowed just one run on five hits and a walk in a complete-game effort, but came away with the loss Wednesday against the Padres. He also struck out six.
The only blemish on the right-hander's evening was a home run served up to Erick Aybar, but it proved to be Greinke's downfall with Jhoulys Chacin twirling an even better gem for the Padres. Greinke bounced back nicely from an outing where he was shelled for five runs in five innings, tossing nearly 70 percent of his pitches Wednesday for strikes. He'll get another opportunity to face off with the lowly Padres attack again in his next scheduled turn April 24.

Vince Velasquez RP | KC
Phillies' Vince Velasquez: Late homer takes shine off Wednesday's start
Velasquez gave up three runs on five hits and three walks while striking out just two in a no-decision against the Mets on Wednesday.
He left in line to take the loss (which would have been his third straight), but Velasquez actually pitched pretty decently here, holding the Mets scoreless through five innings before Jay Bruce slugged a three-run bomb off him in the sixth. That said, it's hard to ignore that 7.20 ERA and 1.67 WHIP next to his name, and the lack of whiffs Wednesday is a bit distressing. He'll aim for better results next Tuesday against the Marlins.

Tommy Milone SP | SEA
Brewers' Tommy Milone: Keeps Cubs off balance over five innings
Milone allowed a single run on just three hits while striking out five batters over five innings during Wednesday's loss to the Cubs.
Milone was in line for the win through five frames, and his smoke-and-mirrors pitch arsenal was extremely effective Wednesday. Unfortunately, the Milwaukee bullpen allowed six runs, and left the 30-year-old southpaw still chasing his second win of the campaign. Milone entered Wednesday's outing with a career 4.20 ERA and 6.43 K/9, though, so there isn't a lot of fantasy value outside of NL-only settings.

Kyle Hendricks SP | LAA
Cubs' Kyle Hendricks: Struggles against Brew Crew in no-decision
Hendricks allowed four runs on four hits (two home runs) and four walks while striking out four batters during Wednesday's win over Milwaukee.
This was the first start of Hendricks' career that he allowed two home runs and four walks in the same outing, so all things considered, he was probably lucky to escape without a loss. After turning in a National League-best 2.13 ERA last season, the pendulum has likely swung too far in the other direction, as Hendricks now sports a 6.19 mark through his first three 2017 outings.

Sammy Solis SP | SD
Nationals' Sammy Solis: Lands on DL
Solis was placed on the 10-day disabled list Wednesday with left elbow inflammation, Dan Kolko of MASN reports.
The move opens up a roster spot for Joe Ross, who was called up to start Wednesday's game against the Braves. Solis threw a scoreless eighth inning Tuesday, lowering his ERA to 8.31 on the season. It's currently unclear how long he will be sidelined, so expect an update once the Nationals release more information.

Michael Wacha SP | KC
Cardinals' Michael Wacha: Limits Pirates to collect second win
Wacha (2-1) allowed a single run on four hits and two walks while striking out three batters over 6.2 innings during Wednesday's win over Pittsburgh.
Wacha has rebounded this year with a 17:5 K:BB and has pitched at least six innings in each outing. While you should still keep your expectations for his strikeout total in check, it appears the 25-year-old righty is back to being a serviceable fantasy asset in the majority of settings. He projects to take the hill next against the Blue Jays at home on Tuesday.

Mauricio Cabrera SP | ATL
Braves' Mauricio Cabrera: Cleared for extended spring outing
Cabrera (elbow) will pitch in an extended spring training game Friday, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
By completing a live batting practice session Tuesday, Cabrera cleared one of the last major hurdles on his road back to active competition. The Braves will keep him in a controlled environment Friday but it sounds like Cabrera could join Triple-A Gwinnett as soon as next week. While Cabrera throws gas and could end up being a closer in the future, he will need to prove his health and rein in his control for that to come to fruition.
-
Gerrit Cole SP | NYY
Pirates' Gerrit Cole: Fans eight in loss to Cards
Cole (1-2) allowed two runs on six hits and two walks while striking out eight batters over six innings during Wednesday's loss to St. Louis.
Since allowing five runs over five innings to Boston during his season debut, Cole has settled in and provided serviceable numbers. He's allowed seven runs through 18 innings with 17 punchouts over his past three starts, but has only been able to pick up a single win. He'll look to even his record against the Cubs on Monday, and Cole also lines up to make a second start next week against Miami.
-
Ben Lively SP | CLE
Phillies' Ben Lively: Called up by Phillies
Lively was called up by the Phillies on Wednesday, Matt Gelb of the Philadelphia Inquirer reports.
It appears the promotion only serves as a temporary bullpen replacement for Pat Neshek, who will miss a few games on paternity leave. Regardless, Lively may get the opportunity to make his major league debut if needed. LIvely has a 4.09 ERA with Triple-A Lehigh Valley this season after posting impressive numbers in 2016, but has never pitched in relief.

Hyun-Jin Ryu SP | TOR
Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Victimized by home runs in loss to Rockies
Ryu (0-3) allowed four runs on seven hits and one walk across six innings in Tuesday's loss to the Rockies. He struck out seven.
Ryu showed good command and had his strikeout stuff working, but he fell victim to the long ball in this one, including a two-run homer by Nolan Arenado in the first, a solo blast by Trevor Story in the fourth and another by Arenado in the fifth. While the lefty took his third straight loss to start the season, he did log more innings than he had in either of his previous two and set a season high in punchouts. Ryu has allowed six homers through just 15.1 innings en route to a 5.87 ERA, but his 17:4 K:BB indicates that better things could be on the way if he can limit the big hits. He will try to do just that Monday against the Giants.
