Holmes (4-1) picked up the win Friday, giving up three runs on eight hits over six innings in a 9-3 victory over the Cardinals. He struck out three without walking a batter.

The right-hander needed 92 pitches (63 strikes) to deliver his second quality start of the season, and his fourth win in his last five outings. Holmes' transition to a starting role this year has gone without a hitch, and through 36.2 innings he's posted a 2.95 ERA, 1.28 WHIP and 39:13 K:BB. He'll look to keep rolling in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come at home next weekend against the Cubs.

Kelly was removed from Friday's start after five innings due to cramping in his right hamstring, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports. He allowed one run on four hits and struck out two before being removed.

Kelly began to feel the cramping while warming up for the sixth inning and was removed after just 60 pitches. The cramping issue has dogged the 36-year old right-hander the last few seasons. "I wish I had a good answer for you guys," Kelly said. "We've tried all kinds of things. We've done all kinds of labs, all kinds of hydration stuff. If I had a good answer for you guys, I'd stop cramping." As of now, Kelly is expected to make his next scheduled start in five days.

Allen didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Blue Jays, allowing three runs (two earned) on six hits and two walks while striking out four across 5.2 innings.

It was a nice bounce-back effort for Allen on Friday after he gave up seven runs to the Red Sox on April 27. He tallied 16 first-pitch strikes and nine whiffs across 104 pitches (66 strikes), and he was one out shy from logging his first quality start of the season. He's yielded two earned runs or fewer in four of his last five outings and has a 4.02 ERA, 1.53 WHIP and 22:15 K:BB across 31.1 innings. Allen's next start is slated for next week on the road against the Nationals.

Bassitt didn't factor into the decision in Friday's game against the Guardians, allowing three runs on seven hits while striking out four over 5.1 innings. He did not issue a walk.

Bassitt gave up solo home runs to Carlos Santana and Bo Naylor in the second and fourth innings, respectively, and Bassitt was tagged for a third run in the sixth before being lifted for Chad Green. Bassitt was able to generate 11 whiffs on 98 pitches (65 strikes) but fell two outs short of logging his third quality start of the season. He's allowed 11 runs over his last three outings and is up to a 2.95 ERA and 1.18 WHIP over 39.2 innings. Bassitt is in line to face the Angels on the road next week.

Leiter (2-1) allowed six runs on eight hits and two walks while striking out two over 4.1 innings, taking the loss Friday versus the Mariners.

Leiter was doing alright initially, but he started to falter when he allowed a solo shot to Cal Raleigh in the fourth inning. Raleigh added a grand slam in the fifth as the Mariners batted around, knocking Leiter from the game. Those were the first two homers the 25-year-old right-hander has allowed across four starts this season. He's failed to complete five innings in either of his last two outings following a stint on the injured list due to a blister on his right middle finger. He's now at a 4.58 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 15:7 K:BB across 17.2 innings this season. Leiter will have some ups and downs as a young pitcher finding his footing in the majors. He's projected to make his next start on the road in Boston.

Woo (4-1) allowed one hit and struck out eight without walking a batter over 6.1 scoreless innings to earn the win Friday over the Rangers.

Woo retired the first 14 batters he faced and ended with 64 of 87 pitches landing for strikes in the dominant outing. This was his fourth straight quality start and his fifth such performance in six starts overall. Woo has a 2.58 ERA, 0.83 WHIP and 38:7 K:BB over 38.1 innings. He showed plenty of potential over 121.1 innings in 2024, and he's arguably been even more reliable in 2025, which is especially valuable for a rotation missing George Kirby (shoulder) and Logan Gilbert (elbow). Woo's next start is projected to be a road outing versus the Athletics next week.

Priester allowed seven runs on six hits and four walks while striking out two over 4.1 innings versus the Cubs on Friday. He did not factor in the decision.

Priester was able to clean up the mess Tyler Alexander left him in the first inning, though he allowed one inherited runner to score. There was nowhere to hide for Priester in the second, as the Cubs teed off for seven runs, including a Michael Busch grand slam and a Pete Crow-Armstrong solo shot. Priester was steady in his first three outings of the season, but he's yielded 12 runs over his last 9.1 innings. His ERA spiked up a whole two runs from 3.79 to 5.79, and he's added a 1.76 WHIP and 17:16 K:BB across 23.1 innings over five starts. Priester or Chad Patrick will likely lose out on a rotation spot once Brandon Woodruff (shoulder) is ready to be activated from the injured list.

Flexen allowed a hit and two walks while striking out four over three scoreless innings to earn the save in Friday's 10-0 win over the Brewers.

This was the first save Flexen has posted since the 2022 campaign with the Mariners. He was just selected from Triple-A Iowa on Wednesday, and this was his major-league season debut after covering 23.1 innings with a 1.16 ERA and 1.17 WHIP as a starter with the minor-league club to begin the year. Flexen threw 36 of 54 pitches for strikes in this outing. While he performed well and spared the bullpen, he could still ultimately get rotated off the big-league roster if the Cubs decide they need a fresh reliever in the coming days.

Brown (3-2) allowed four hits and struck out four without walking a batter over six shutout innings to earn the win Friday over the Brewers.

Brown surrendered six runs in his last start, but he bounced back with his second quality start of the campaign. While the four strikeouts represented a season low, this was an encouraging performance overall for the 25-year-old right-hander. He's now at a 4.88 ERA, 1.66 WHIP and 35:14 K:BB over 31.1 innings across seven outings (six starts) in 2025. Brown is projected to make his next start at home versus the Giants.

Holmes (2-2) took the loss Friday against the Dodgers after allowing two runs on four hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out nine.

Holmes established a career high with nine punchouts, generating 15 whiffs against a fearsome Dodgers lineup. The right-hander's two walks also tied a season low in his six starts this year. Holmes has a middling 4.24 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 35:19 K:BB over 34 innings, but he's given up just three runs to go with a 22:10 K:BB across 15.2 frames at home this year. His favorable splits at Truist Park will be tested next week at home versus versus the Reds.
