Carson Spiers SP | CIN
Reds' Carson Spiers: MRI reveals ligament issues
Spiers (shoulder) underwent an MRI on Monday that revealed ligament issues, MLB.com reports.
Reds manager Terry Francona confirmed the results of the MRI and said Spiers will seek a second opinion. "It's not cut and dry, but there is some concern," Francona said. Spiers first hurt the shoulder in April and was transferred to 60-day injured list in late May.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Rodriguez: Leaves after comebacker
Rodriguez was removed from Tuesday's 3-1 loss to the Astros with one out in the seventh inning after a comebacker hit him on the inside of his leg, Alex Weiner of Arizona Sports reports.
Rodriguez waved off manager Torey Lovullo and the team's athletic trainer, but Lovullo pulled him from the game. "He was okay. Probably could have gone a little bit extra, but I felt like he had done his job at that point," Lovullo said. Rodriguez was at the 90-pitch mark and probably wouldn't have come out for the eighth. The left-hander is expected to take his next turn in the rotation Monday against the Tigers.

Yoshinobu Yamamoto SP | LAD
Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Fans eight in no-decision
Yamamoto allowed three runs (one earned) on five hits and a walk while striking out eight over five innings in a no-decision versus the Twins on Tuesday.
All three runs were scored in the second inning. Yamamoto wasn't that efficient, throwing 101 pitches (65 strikes) in this start, but he turned in a decent performance. He's allowed nine runs (five earned) across 24.2 innings over his last five starts, which includes one where he didn't escape the first frame. Yamamoto is now at a 2.55 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 124:37 K:BB through 109.1 innings across 20 starts this season. His next start is tentatively projected to be at Cincinnati early next week.

Simeon Woods Richardson RP | MIN
Twins' Simeon Woods Richardson: Lacks control Tuesday
Woods Richardson allowed three runs on two hits and five walks while striking out two over three innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Tuesday.
Woods Richardson benefited from a strong showing by the Twins' offense, because his pitching alone wasn't getting the job done. He threw just 28 of 58 pitches for strikes in his first start coming out of the All-Star break. Prior to the break, he posted a 1.47 ERA and 0.91 WHIP over his previous six starts, so this was a significant step back for the right-hander. He's now at a 4.14 ERA, 1.37 WHIP and 64:33 K:BB through 76 innings across 16 appearances (15 starts) this season. The 24-year-old will look to bounce back next week in a home start versus the Red Sox. While Woods Richardson has been just average, it's likely one of David Festa or Zebby Matthews is at a higher risk of losing the last spot in the rotation when Bailey Ober (hip) returns.

Bradley Blalock RP | MIA
Rockies' Bradley Blalock: Earns first win of season
Blalock (1-2) earned the win Tuesday, allowing two runs on eight hits and a walk over 5.1 innings against the Cardinals. He recorded no strikeouts.
Blalock was far from perfect Tuesday, allowing plenty of baserunners, but he managed to deliver a serviceable outing that helped the Rockies secure a win. The right-hander came in with rough numbers, posting a 9.97 ERA and 1.80 WHIP over 21.2 innings across six appearances (four starts) this season. His struggles stem largely from a lack of strikeouts (3.7 K/9) and an astronomical home-run rate (2.5 HR/9). While Tuesday's performance got the job done, Blalock remains far from fantasy relevance.

Erick Fedde SP | CHW
Cardinals' Erick Fedde: Struggles continue in 10th loss
Fedde (3-10) took the loss Tuesday, allowing six runs on seven hits and one walk over three innings against the Rockies. He struck out five.
The right-hander had a chance to bounce back against a struggling Rockies lineup but was instead tagged for damage, including home runs by Mickey Moniak and Ryan McMahon. Fedde is in the middle of a rough stretch, going 0-5 with a 9.64 ERA and 2.04 WHIP over 28 innings across seven starts since June 13. While he could still be a buy-low option for a contender at the trade deadline, his recent struggles have significantly diminished his potential trade value.

Eduardo Rodriguez SP | ARI
Diamondbacks' Eduardo Rodriguez: Sharp in first start after break
Rodriguez allowed six hits and three walks while striking out three over 6.1 innings in a no-decision versus the Astros on Tuesday.
Rodriguez still gave up a bit too much in terms of baserunners, but he was effective at keeping them from scoring. This was his first start since July 10, as the Diamondbacks built in a little extra time off around the All-Star break for the struggling southpaw, which appears to have paid immediate dividends. He trimmed his ERA from 5.94 to 5.50 and also has a 1.65 WHIP and 93:32 K:BB across 86.2 innings through 17 starts this season. Rodriguez is projected for another tough interleague matchup early next week, when he's slated to toe the rubber in Detroit.

Matthew Boyd SP | CHC
Cubs' Matthew Boyd: Dominant in 11th win
Boyd (11-3) earned the win Tuesday, allowing four hits and one walk over seven scoreless innings against the Royals. He struck out six.
Boyd continued his stellar 2025 campaign Tuesday, tossing seven scoreless innings to notch his 11th win of the year and fourth in a row. The southpaw entered the outing with a 0.90 ERA and 0.70 WHIP over 20 innings in July, a stretch that included two shutouts. With a third blanking added to his July resume, Boyd lowered his season marks to a 2.20 ERA and 1.01 WHIP across 118.2 innings and 20 starts. While Paul Skenes and Zack Wheeler headline the National League's top arms, Boyd's dominance this season has put him firmly in that conversation.

Rich Hill SP | KC
Royals' Rich Hill: Goes five innings in team debut
Hill (0-1) took the loss Tuesday, allowing three runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks over five innings against the Cubs. He struck out one.
Hill made MLB history Tuesday by pitching for his 14th team, tying Edwin Jackson's all-time record. The 45-year-old delivered a solid outing, allowing one earned run and three total over five innings, with defensive miscues by the Royals contributing to the damage. While the veteran lefty no longer has swing-and-miss stuff or any velocity, which will likely limit his effectiveness at this level, just being on a major league mound for a 21st consecutive season is a remarkable accomplishment. His current big-league stint may end once Michael Lorenzen (oblique) returns, but Hill's longevity is undeniably impressive.

Framber Valdez SP | DET
Astros' Framber Valdez: Earns 11th win
Valdez (11-4) allowed one run on seven hits and one walk while striking out four over seven innings to earn the win Tuesday over the Diamondbacks.
Valdez allowed the lone run on a groundout in the fifth inning. He looked in line for a hard-luck loss until Brice Matthews' two-run home run in the eighth, which put the Astros ahead for good. This was the sixth straight start of at least six innings for Valdez, who has given up just six runs (five earned) over 38 frames in that span. He's also won 10 of his last 13 outings after beginning the year 1-4 over seven starts. For the season, the southpaw has a 2.67 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 129:42 K:BB across 128 innings. He's lined up for a favorable home start versus the Athletics this weekend.
