Misiorowski (tibia) will throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Todd Rosiak of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

The Brewers exercised caution in placing Misiorowski on the 15-day injured list over the weekend with a left tibia contusion. However, barring any setbacks, the prized young right-hander will be back in the big-league rotation when first eligible Aug. 15 in Cincinnati.

The Astros recalled Blubaugh from Triple-A Sugar Land, and he could pitch behind opener Steven Okert against the Marlins on Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

The right-hander joined the Astros as a member of the taxi squad Monday and has now joined the 26-man roster. Blubaugh's lone MLB appearance this year was a start in late April, and he gave up seven runs (two earned) on five hits with one walk and six strikeouts over four innings.

Rodriguez (elbow) said Tuesday that he expects to be ready to throw bullpen sessions "in about a month-and-a-half to two months," Foul Territory TV reports.

Rodriguez is scheduled to undergo right elbow debridement surgery early next week, and it's possible the timeline for his throwing program will change based on how the operation goes. However, it sounds like the right-hander should have a relatively normal offseason if everything goes as planned. Rodriguez will remain a health risk heading into the 2026 season after missing all of 2025 and most of the second half of 2024 with arm problems.

The Reds placed Lodolo on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a left index finger blister.

Lodolo had to be lifted from Monday's start against the Cubs in the second inning after the blister flared up. He has dealt with blister problems before, so the Reds want to be cautious rather than rushing the southpaw back. Lodolo will be eligible for activation Aug. 20 and should have a good chance of being ready by that date. Nick Martinez is expected to take Lodolo's spot in the Cincinnati rotation.

The Astros optioned Rooney to Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Acquired from the Marlins via trade over the weekend, Rooney will go back to the minors without having made an appearance for the Astros. The lefty holds a 2.45 ERA and 45:23 K:BB over 33 innings at the Triple-A level this season.

The Pirates are expected to option Oviedo to Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Oviedo struggled in Monday's 5-4 win over the Giants in what was his first start in the majors since 2023, after he missed the entire 2024 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery and the first several months of this season while recovering from a lat strain. He yielding two runs on two hits and three walks while needing 43 pitches to cover his lone inning. With the bullpen now short after it had to cover eight innings Monday, the Pirates are replacing Oviedo with a fresh relief arm in Cam Sanders, who will be called up from Triple-A.

The Nationals will recall Cavalli from Triple-A Rochester to start Wednesday's game versus the Athletics, Grant Paulsen of 106.7 The Fan Washington reports.

Cavalli is set to make his first start in the big leagues since August 2022, after the right-hander encountered some setbacks following his March 2023 Tommy John surgery. The 26-year-old has collected a 9.00 ERA over his last six starts with Rochester, but a 31:9 K:BB over 27 frames during that time offers more promise. He should get an opportunity to hold down a rotation spot with the Nationals for the rest of the season.

Martinez allowed two earned runs on two hits and no walks in 2.1 innings of relief in Monday's 3-2 win over the Cubs.

After starting in each of his previous seven appearances, Martinez was moved to the bullpen to open up a spot in the rotation for Zack Littell, whom the Reds acquired from the Rays ahead of the trade deadline. Martinez's stay in the bullpen could be a brief one, as he was pressed into action in long relief after starter Nick Lodolo recorded just five outs before exiting with a left index finger blister. Reds manager Terry Francona said after the game that Lodolo is likely to go on the injured list, so Martinez represents a logical choice to replace the southpaw in the rotation the next time his turn comes up this weekend in Pittsburgh. Martinez may be needed for just one start, as Cincinnati could get ace Hunter Greene (groin) back from the IL as soon as next week.

Cortes (elbow) is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks at Chase Field.

San Diego reinstated Cortes from the 60-day injured list Sunday, but he'll end up waiting a few days before entering the rotation as a replacement for Randy Vasquez, who was optioned to Triple-A El Paso in a corresponding move. Acquired from the Brewers this past Thursday, Cortes made just two starts at the big-league level before landing on the IL on April 6 due to a left elbow strain. Before being traded, Cortes proved his health over the course of a four-start rehab assignment in July, during which he turned in a 1.00 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 18:3 K:BB in 18 innings. After building up to 93 pitches in his final rehab outing July 24, Cortes isn't expected to face a workload restriction Wednesday in his Padres debut.

Reds manager Terry Francona said after Monday's 3-2 win over the Cubs that Lodolo (finger) is likely to be placed on the 15-day injured list, Casey Drottar of MLB.com reports.

Lodolo lasted only 1.2 innings Monday before exiting his start due to a blister on his left index finger. The southpaw has dealt with blister problems before, which factors into the Reds' decision to "err on the side of caution" with Lodolo, per Francona. Assuming Lodolo is indeed placed on the IL, he would be eligible to return Aug. 20. Nick Martinez worked 2.1 frames in relief of Lodolo and could slide back into the rotation in his place.
