  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Brought back from IL

Diaz (hamstring) was activated from the 10-day injured list Monday, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports. He is starting at third base and hitting ninth against the Athletics, according to McTaggart.

Diaz completed a full workout with no issues Sunday, clearing the way for him to rejoin the Astros ahead of Monday's series opener against the Athletics. Prior to landing on the injured list at the end of May, Diaz compiled a .286/.321/.510 triple-slash with five home runs and 22 RBI in 32 games. To clear room on the roster for the utility man, Rogelio Armenteros was sent to the minors.

  • Joey Wendle 2B | ATL

Rays' Joey Wendle: Not in lineup

Wendle is not starting Monday against the Red Sox.

Wendle has posted a poor .216/.287/.284 slash line in 32 games since returning from a wrist injury. Mike Brosseau gets the start at second base with southpaw Eduardo Rodriguez on the mound for Boston.

  • Mariners' Dee Gordon: Three more hits in loss

Gordon went 3-for-4 in a loss to the Angels on Sunday.

Gordon certainly enjoyed his exposure to Angels pitching, going 6-for-10 with an RBI in his two starts over the three-game weekend set. If the veteran is indeed destined to be moved to a contender prior to the July 31 trade deadline, he's wrapping up his season-plus Mariners tenure with a bang; factoring in Sunday's production, he's now hitting .326 across 44 plate appearances in July, pushing his season line to .278/.304/.365 in the process.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Goes through full workout

Diaz (hamstring) underwent a full workout with the Astros on Sunday and could return for Monday's series opener against the Atheltics, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Diaz went 1-for-13 and was hit by a pitch across four rehab games at Double-A Corpus Christi and Triple-A Round Rock. The Astros have not ruled out one more rehab game.

  • Indians' Francisco Lindor: Launches 16th homer

Lindor went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run Sunday against the Royals.

Lindor smacked a two-run homer in the third inning to tie the ballgame, marking his 16th long ball of the 2019 season. He continues to put together a solid campaign, slashing .292/.347/.508 with 37 RBI over 79 contests.

  • Ehire Adrianza 3B | LAA

Twins' Ehire Adrianza: Scores twice, drives in two

Adrianza went 3-for-5 with a double, a triple, two RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's 7-6 win over Oakland.

Adrianza finished a home run shy of the cycle but drove in the game-tying run in the ninth inning before scoring on Max Kepler's walkoff single. The 29-year-old utility man has scored 26 runs and driven in 17 in his limited playing time this season.

  • Aledmys Diaz 1B | HOU

Astros' Aledmys Diaz: Will be assessed Sunday

The Astros will evaluate Diaz (hamstring) on Sunday, and he could be activated as soon as Monday, David Barron of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Diaz played back-to-back games Friday and Saturday for Double-A Corpus Christi, playing four positions in the two games. He lined up at shortstop and first base Friday, followed by innings at third base and left field Saturday. "We'll make an assessment (Sunday) on how he is doing and if he needs more time in the minor leagues. If he's ready to come back, we'll bring him back," said manager AJ Hinch. That he played multiple positions in back-to-back games is a positive sign.

  • J.P. Crawford SS | SEA

Mariners' J.P. Crawford: Records stolen base

Crawford went 0-for-2 with a stolen base, a run scored and a walk in Saturday's 6-2 loss to the Angels.

Crawford walked to lead off the third inning, then stole second base and came around to score on a single by Omar Narvaez, giving the Mariners a 2-0 lead at the time. Crawford now has two steals on the year, adding a .257/.330/.439 line with four homers, 28 RBI and 22 runs scored in 46 games. He's only gone 4-for-33 over his last 10 games, but all four of his hits have been doubles.

  • David Fletcher 2B | ATL

Angels' David Fletcher: Slaps go-ahead single

Fletcher went 2-for-5 with the go-ahead RBI single, a run scored and a stolen base in Saturday's 6-2 win over the Mariners.

Fletcher's sixth stolen base of the year came in the first inning after he got aboard with a single. He then poked another single to ignite a four-run ninth inning by scoring Kole Calhoun for what would be the game-winning run. The infielder is hitting .293/.355/.414 with 52 runs scored, 33 RBI and five homers on the year.

  • Mariners' Dee Gordon: Three-hit night in win

Gordon went 3-for-4 with a run in a win over the Angels on Friday.

Gordon made plenty of noise out of the bottom of the order, with the three-hit night extending his hitting streak to four games and pushing his July average to .289. The veteran speedster is enjoying a below-average season overall (.271/.299/.360 line across 276 plate appearances), but Chris Haft of MLB.com reports that Gordon could be one of the natural trade candidates for the selling-minded Mariners prior to the July 31 deadline.
