Adalberto Mondesi SS | BOS
Royals' Adalberto Mondesi: Day off Saturday
Mondesi is not in the lineup Saturday against the Twins.
Mondesi is hitting .313 in nine games since coming back from a four-game absence on the family medical emergency list. He'll sit Saturday with Alcides Escobar getting the start at shortstop.

Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Returns to lineup Saturday
Bogaerts (wrist) will start at shortstop and bat fifth against the Yankees on Saturday, Christopher Smith of MassLive.com reports.
Bogaerts was able to enter Friday's game as a defensive replacement and will return to the starting lineup after suffering a wrist injury during Tuesday's game. Across 90 games this year, he's hitting .275/.342/.513 with 16 home runs, 65 RBI and two stolen bases.

Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Enters Friday's game late
Bogaerts (wrist) was not ready to hit but entered Friday's game as a defensive replacement, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports. The shortstop was held out of the starting lineup for a second straight game after taking a pitch off his hand earlier in the week.
Bench coach Ron Roenicke, who replaced ejected manager Alex Cora, was hoping to avoid using Bogaerts, but the shortstop was needed after second baseman Ian Kinsler left the game due to a hamstring injury. The Kinsler injury resulted in some mid-game shuffling that included Mookie Betts moving from right field to second base and Steve Pearce from first base to right field. Later in the game, when the Red Sox were concerned about protecting a 4-1 lead, Betts went back to right field, Brock Holt shifted from shortstop to second base, and Bogaerts finished out the game at short. We'll need to wait until Bogaerts reports to the park to determine his availability for Saturday night's tilt against the Yankees.

Joey Wendle 2B | ATL
Rays' Joey Wendle: Two hits in loss to White Sox
Wendle went 2-for-4 with a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 3-2 extra-inning loss to the White Sox.
He's put together a modest seven-game hitting streak, hitting .400 (10-for-25) during that stretch to boost his slash line on the season back up to .288/.340/.405. With Daniel Robertson (thumb) banged up and Tommy Pham (foot) on the disabled list, Wendle should once again be a relative fixture in the Rays' lineup, whether at second base or in left field -- where he needs only four more games played to gain 2019 outfield eligibility in fantasy leagues that use a 20-game threshold.

David Fletcher 2B | ATL
Angels' David Fletcher: Collects 13th RBI
Fletcher went 1-for-4 with a double, an RBI and a run scored Friday in a 7-4 win over Cleveland.
Fletcher smacked a ground-rule double to right field in the eighth inning to score Shohei Othani and take the lead, 4-3. Fletcher hasn't shown much power yet in the majors, hitting one homer and driving in 13 over his first 41 games, but he's managed to maintain a .277 average.

Dee Strange-Gordon SS | WAS
Mariners' Dee Gordon: In Friday's lineup
Gordon (ankle) will start at second base and bat atop the order against the Blue Jays on Friday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.
Gordon will not be forced to miss any time after leaving Thursday's game with a twisted right ankle. Across 99 games this year, he's hit .288/.308/.349 with 22 RBI and 26 stolen bases.

Willy Adames SS | SF
Rays' Willy Adames: Day off Friday
Adames is not in the lineup against the White Sox on Friday, Steve Carney of 620 WDAE reports.
Adames will head to the bench following six straight starts, during which he's gone 5-for-20 with three RBI and seven strikeouts. Daniel Robertson will move over to shortstop while Joey Wendle gets a start at the keystone.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Not in Friday's lineup
Manager Alex Cora said Bogaerts (wrist) will not be included in Friday's starting lineup against the Yankees, though he could be available off the bench if needed, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.
Bogaerts will take a seat for the second straight day after getting struck by a pitch during Tuesday's contest versus Philadelphia. In his place, look for Brock Holt to man the shortstop position. Consider Bogaerts day-to-day ahead of Saturday's affair.

Dee Strange-Gordon SS | WAS
Mariners' Dee Gordon: Not expected to miss much time
Gordon (ankle) avoided major injury and is not expected to miss an extended period of time, Greg Johns of MLB.com reports.
Gordon will be reevaluated when he gets to the park prior to Friday's game. He was forced to leave Thursday's outing in the ninth inning after twisting his right ankle. Even though he will likely bypass a stint on the DL, there's a chance the Mariners will give him a couple days off to recover, so consider him day-to-day for the time being.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Red Sox's Xander Bogaerts: Not being rushed back
Manager Alex Cora said he will not rush Bogaerts (wrist) back to the lineup, Jason Mastrodonato of the Boston Herald reports. "I'll take my time," the manager said. "Whenever he's ready, he'll come back. I'm not going to rush him to get back in the lineup."
Bogaerts said the wrist was better Thursday after getting plunked by a pitch Wednesday, but abandoned his plan to hit because "it wasn't good enough." He'll come to the park Friday and see where his wrist is at. The Red Sox, owners of MLB's best record and a 6.5-game lead over the second-place Yankees, have the room to be cautious with their starting shortstop. If he can't go Friday against the Yankees, expect Brock Holt to start in his place for a second straight game.
