Correa went 2-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a strikeout in Wednesday's win over the Giants.

Correa entered Wednesday's tilt in an 0-for-9, four-strikeout mini slump, but he broke out of it with his first multi-hit effort in nearly three weeks. The 23-year-old is still hitting just .188 in May and as a result boasts a .273/.363/.483 slash line which is down from last year's numbers in all three categories.

Adrianza went 2-for-2 with a pair of doubles, two RBI, two runs scored and a walk in Tuesday's win over the Tigers.

The light-hitting Adrianza hasn't done much at the plate this season, but he logged his first multi-hit game of the year and now has three doubles over the past two games. Despite sporting a slash line of just .227/.296/.307, Adrianza has been seeing fairly regular at-bats, although that could change soon with Miguel Sano (hamstring) set to return Friday.

Manager Scott Servais said he doesn't expect Gordon (toe) to miss much more than 10 days, Shannon Drayer of 710 ESPN Seattle reports.

Servais added that the fracture in Gordon's toe is a minor one, which make sense given he was able to swipe a bag and score the winning run in Sunday's extra-innings win over the Tigers after suffering the injury. He'll get some time off to let the issue heal, but early indications are that the speedster won't require a lengthy stay on the shelf. Gordon was hitting a solid .304/.330/.386 with 16 stolen bases in 45 games prior to landing on the DL. Look for Gordon Beckham to fill in at second base until Gordon is healthy.

Manager Kevin Cash said Adames is expected to be sent back to the minors when Joey Wendle returns from the paternity list, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

This sounds more like the Rays, who are preparing to send their top prospect back to Triple-A Durham in a couple of days in order delay his arbitration eligibility as far as possible into the future. He should start at shortstop until Wendle is back with the team, but fantasy owners will have to wait a little while longer for Adames to take over as the team's everyday shortstop.

Adames is starting at shortstop and hitting fifth Tuesday against the Red Sox, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.

As expected, the Rays will waste no time slotting Adames in as their starting shortstop. The 22-year-old, who hit .311/.387/.466 across 40 games with Triple-A Durham prior to his promotion, is situated in the middle of the order against southpaw Chris Sale in his major-league debut. It's unclear if he'll stick in the five hole against same-handed pitching initially, but his above-average hit tool should eventually help him settle into a favorable spot in the lineup regardless of who is pitching for the opposition.

Anderson is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Orioles.

Anderson will head to the bench for just the second time all season after starting five straight games and going just 3-for-18 (.167) over that stretch. Jose Rondon will start at shortstop and hit eighth in his stead.

Wendle was placed on the paternity list Tuesday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Wendle with be away from the team for the next few days following the birth of his baby boy. The second baseman should be back with the Rays for their weekend series against the Orioles. Willy Adames was recalled from Triple-A Durham in a corresponding roster move.

This is somewhat surprising, as the Rays were expected to delay his promotion to the majors until later in the season with the intent of pushing his arbitration eligibility as far as possible into the future. However, with Adeiny Hechavarria (hamstring) still in the treatment stage of his recovery and Adames showing he has little left to prove in the minors -- hitting .311/.387/.466 with four homers and three stolen bases in 40 games for the Bulls -- the Rays decided to summon their shortstop of the future. The 22-year-old should immediately take over as the team's shortstop and could eventually work his way to the top of the order thanks to his above-average hit tool.

Gordon was placed on the 10-day disabled list Tuesday with a fractured right big toe.

Gordon originally injured his big toe against the Blue Jays earlier in the month, but was able to return after missing just one game. The speedster apparently re-injured the toe in Sunday's extra-innings win over the Tigers -- which is somewhat surprising given he stole a base and scored the winning run -- and will now require a stay on the DL to get over the issue. The severity of the injury, along with a possible timetable for his return, remains unclear at the moment, but this is yet another tough blow for the Mariners. Dan Vogelbach was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma in a corresponding roster move, while Gordon Beckham appears to be the most likely option to take over at second base in Gordon's absence.

Adames is slashing .311/.387/.466 with 12 extra-base hits (five doubles, three triples, four home runs) and 25 RBI across 173 plate appearances for Triple-A Durham.

The dynamic prospect's batting average and on-base percentage are both career-best figures. Now having logged 751 plate appearances at the Triple-A level over the last season-plus, Adames appears big-league ready. However, as is common practice, the Rays are likely delaying a callup until later in the season with the intent of pushing Adames' arbitration eligibility as far as possible into the future, Bill Chastain of MLB.com reports. That partly helps explain why the recent hamstring injury to Adeiny Hechavarria didn't immediately yield a promotion for Adames, but he certainly appears likely to make his highly-anticipated MLB debut sometime in 2018.
